Twitter has backed down and has reinstated the NY Post. The Post refused to back down and delete their post on the Biden Crime Family.
Twitter probably would not have reinstated them until after the election if it weren’t for the fact two Senate committees are out for their scalp. For too long they have been allowed to abuse section 230 and used it to censor conservatives.
During the Senate Commerce Committee hearing on Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey lied when he told the Senators that his platform had lifted the ban on retweeting articles from the Post’s bombshell story. The Post was not reinstated until well after Dorsey’s testimony.
I am extremely familiar with the NY Post. I bought it every morning and would read it cover to cover. The NY Times, The Daily Caller, the Bergen Record were all liberal rags. I was glad to have something objective to read. And their sports section was the boss. Therefore, I am glad to see they have now been freed.

Despite Dorsey’s claims, the ban remained on one of the publication’s bombshell stories and was only lifted after Dorsey gave his testimony before the Senate. Dorsey told Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), “Anyone can tweet these articles,” in reference to the Post’s articles on emails implicating Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden in his son’s work in China and Ukraine.
The Twitter Safety account has since tweeted an explanation for the change in its policies and decision to unlock the Post’s account. According to the company, it decided after several weeks to “retroactively overturn prior enforcement”
The Twitter explanation:
Twitter [email protected]·Our policies are living documents. We’re willing to update and adjust them when we encounter new scenarios or receive important feedback from the public. One such example is the recent change to our Hacked Materials Policy and its impact on accounts like the New York Post.1.7K961767
Twitter [email protected]·In response, we’re updating our practice of not retroactively overturning prior enforcement. Decisions made under policies that are subsequently changed & published can now be appealed if the account at issue is a driver of that change. We believe this is fair and appropriate.216221445
Twitter [email protected]·This means that because a specific @nypost enforcement led us to update the Hacked Materials Policy, we will no longer restrict their account under the terms of the previous policy and they can now Tweet again.
The election will be over soon and these mass censorships will end until the midterm election in 2022.
