Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed an executive order Monday that immediately suspends all outstanding local Covid-19 emergency orders and related public health restrictions. The left is furious and started something that could be confused as a death threat.

“Ron DeSantis just declared the pandemic is over In Florida and there’s not a thing Fauci and his cronies can do about it,” one poster wrote on Twitter under the trending hashtag #DeathSantis.

VIDEO OF THE DAY

What triggered leftists to freak out and post all over Twitter what looked like a death threat? “The fact is, we are no longer in a state of emergency,” DeSantis said during a news conference on Monday.

THE LEFT IS ADDICTED TO FEAR PORN OVER COVID

“DeSantis acknowledged that Florida was still not done with its fight against the coronavirus but reiterated the nation’s decline in Covid-19 cases and deaths,” local Florida news reported.

The left is not happy about the idea of life without the Pandemic, and it is unclear when, if ever, they may want to return to life “as normal”.

“I think that’s the evidence-based thing to do,” DeSantis said, adding that asking vaccinated individuals to continue to wear masks would undermine confidence in the coronavirus vaccines.

Private businesses can still require masks and enforce social distancing and other protective measures, DeSantis.

Democrats were so upset at Desantis’ act that they started a hashtag that Twitter dropped into trending news, #DeathDeSantis.  Imagine if Democrats focused on something that had the word “death” in the phrase. There would be 24 hours of news on the topic.

However, it is about Republicans; the public is perfectly comfortable with the idea of death.

IS THERE ANY CONSIDERATION OF THE DATA ANYMORE?

“I think it’s the evidence-based thing to do,’’ DeSantis said at a St. Petersburg restaurant where he signed the bill with House Speaker Chris Sprowls and Senate President Wilton Simpson at his side. “I think folks that are saying that they need to be policing people at this point, if you’re saying that, you really are saying you don’t believe in the vaccines, you don’t believe in the data, you don’t believe in the science. … We are no longer in the state of emergency.”

STATE LEGISLATORS STILL FIGHTING OVER VACCINE PASSPORTS AND EMERGENCY POWERS

In Florida, a provision regulating so-called “vaccine passports” is tucked into SB 2006, a bill intended to update the state’s emergency powers in the face of a future public health emergency. The new law is effective July 1, but DeSantis also on Monday said he would sign an executive order invalidating all remaining local emergency COVID orders that are still in place after July 1 and suspend immediately any orders related to COVID-19 now.

So the left has made COVID and Vaccine Passports a campaign issue in Florida, and we should expect that Vaccines will become a hugely contested topic for the near future, keeping people focused on the shot.

And expect the civil division over the topic to continue to grow deeper as both sides dig in, in anger and defense of their point of view. The rhetoric will grow intense.
