Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best told reporters that there are “rapes, robberies, all sorts of violent acts” occurring within the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ). How is that possible? Mayor Jenny Durkan says that it’s not a siege but a block party….with guns.
Seattle Police Chief: “Rapes, robberies and all sorts of violent acts have been occurring in the area and we’re not able to get to [them].” #capitolhillautonomouszone #antifa #BlackLivesMatter pic.twitter.com/Oe5YfVz3uL — Andy Ngô (@MrAndyNgo) June 12, 2020
“Our calls for service have more than tripled. These are responses to emergency calls — rapes, robberies, and all sorts of violent acts that have been occurring in the area that we’re not able to get to.”
What would our Founders think of the way Seattle has surrendered to the anarchists? Without firing a shot no less. And what of the unspeakable crimes they are committing.
I would love to know what Thomas Jefferson, recognized as the first Democrat to become president, would think about the way his party is swooning over the anarchists?
When our ships were being attacked Barbary Coast pirates and they offered to stop it if the United States would pay them off, Jefferson said:
“Millions for Defense, but not a Cent for Tribute”
Imagine if these same pirates tried doing this inside of this country.
Although President Donald Trump has called for city and state officials to disband the autonomous zone, and the head of Seattle’s police union called the situation “absolutely appalling,” both Mayor Jenny Durkan and Washington Gov. Jay Inslee (D) appear content to allow the CHAZ to stand unbothered, at least for now.
“I spoke with [Durkan] and her team about the situation on Capitol Hill,” Inslee wrote on Twitter. “Although unpermitted, and we should remember we are still in a pandemic, the area is largely peaceful. Peaceful protests are fundamentally American, and I am hopeful there will be a peaceful resolution.
“What we will not allow are threats of military violence against Washingtonians coming from the White House,” Inslee continued. “The U.S. military serves to protect Americans, not the fragility of an insecure president.”
