Gov Andrew Cuomo could have even deeper problems than impeachment. he now has to worry about prosecution. It could be used as leverage against him.
They could offer not to prosecute him for sexual assault in exchange for his resignation. Given that choice, he could give up the ghost and resign. At least it beats prison.
In the latest case, he is accused of putting his hand under the blouse of an aid and fondling her breasts.
It will be hard to deny since she immediately reported his actions to her supervisor.
It’s ironic too because he was very forceful over Brett Kavanaugh. He insisted that he take a lie detector test. Will Cuomo agree to a lie detector test?
I think we both know the answer to that.
Democrats are saying that Trump was much worse, but remember, both women who complained about Trump agree that the sex was consensual, they just saw a way to make a quick buck. Only one woman accused him of improper conduct and a video proved she lied.
On Thursday, a New York agency referred the latest sexual assault claim against Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) to the Albany police.
The New York State Executive Chamber, which is actually part of Cuomo’s own office referred the charges to the Albany police. He will now be investigated as a sexual predator. They were just following proper protocol.
From PJ Media
Cuomo categorically denied the accusation. “I have never done anything like this,” the governor said on Wednesday. In a statement last month, Cuomo denied all sexual assault claims. While he admitted that “my interactions may have been insensitive or too personal” and that “some of the things I have said may have been misinterpreted as an unwanted flirtation,” he insisted, “I never inappropriately touched anybody and I never propositioned anybody and I never intended to make anyone feel uncomfortable.”
Attorney General Letitia James (D-N.Y.) is assembling a team to investigate the sexual assault claims.
Some of the women who made the sexual assault claims had previously spoken up, but explosive developments in the COVID-19 nursing home scandal drew fresh attention to these claims. No fewer than six women have come forward accusing Cuomo of sexual assault.
All around hypocrite Vice President Kamala Harris once berated Brett Kavanaugh as being some sort of sexual predator without an ounce of evidence to support the claims of a clearly troubled woman, and at another time she said that now-Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh should be impeached over the completely unfounded accusations against him, and yet she still has not weighed in on the allegations of sexual misconduct against New York Governor Andrew Cuomo from as of this writing six different women who worked for him of sexual misconduct including inappropriate touching, kissing on the lips without consent, and a host of inappropriate statements made to female subordinates.
The New York governor is now facing two separate investigations, one that is getting more attention because of the nature of it is into his behavior around aides by New York Attorney General Letitia James’ office, and an investigation by the US Department of Justice about how his administration hid the true number of nursing home deaths that resulted from his irresponsible decision to force COVID-19 infected patients into nursing homes.
On top of that state, lawmakers are preparing to get underway with the process of impeaching Cuomo. Only one New York governor has ever been impeached. Yeah, it’s that bad.
On Monday, Republican lawmakers in New York introduced a resolution to start impeachment proceedings against Governor Cuomo after he said, “There is no way I resign,” saying that for him to resign before an investigation is complete was “anti-democratic.” Not really, because to resign is not the government forcing him out, it would be his decision, but I digress.
Harris has not yet uttered a word about the allegations against Cuomo, which is completely contrary to how she behaved when Kavanaugh was accused of sexual assault by the lying lunatic Christine Blasey Ford.
“I believe her,” the former California senator said when asked about Ford’s allegations back in September 2018. “Anybody who comes forward at this point to be prepared to testify in the U.S. Senate against someone who’s being nominated to one of the most powerful positions in the U.S. government, that takes an extraordinary amount of courage.”
“I believe that the FBI should be compelled to do its job in terms of completing their background investigation and that’s not being done,” she continued. Actually, the FBI did do complete background investigations on Kavanaugh when he was nominated to sit on an appellate court, and they did another investigation after his Supreme Court nomination.
Harris doesn’t care about the sexual misconduct accusations made against Cuomo. She didn’t really care about the sexual misconduct allegations made against Kavanaugh. For her, it was all political. To the radical Left, Kavanaugh was perceived as a wrecking ball to Roe V Wade, the baby-killing law, which was unconstitutionally created by judges, and at the time Harris had aspirations to run for president for a party moving steadily toward radical socialism. Remember, it was only four months later when she announced she was running for president in January 2019.
Harris often sounded off with #MeToo slogans like “All women should be believed” and #BelieveSurvivors hashtags during the Kavanaugh hearings. She also openly offered her support to Ford praising her for her courage.
“Christine Blasey Ford courageously stepped forward to tell her story — it is a credible and serious allegation. The Senate has a constitutional responsibility to scrutinize SCOTUS nominees. A vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination must be delayed until there is a thorough investigation.”
I think it did take a lot of courage for Ford. It took a lot of courage to go before the world and lie about a man who is about to become a member of a very elite group of men and women, especially when you have to say that you cannot remember where what you claimed happened took place, the exact date and time, and knowing you are naming supposed witnesses none of whom remember anything at all you said. And she did this all because she is a radical leftist who thought she was fighting to keep abortion legal.
All this happened and then one year after the Senate Democrats made a complete mockery of the nomination process, the Senate Judiciary Committee found no evidence whatsoever to support the filthy accusations made against Kavanaugh by the vile people in the Democratic Party including our current vice president.
“I sat through those hearings,” Harris tweeted out. “Brett Kavanaugh lied to the U.S. Senate and most importantly to the American people. He was put on the Court through a sham process and his place on the Court is an insult to the pursuit of truth and justice. He must be impeached.”
I mean it, I think this woman is mentally ill. Not an ounce of evidence could be found to corroborate the allegations. Harris was a former prosecutor who should know better. The then-Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, the Senate Pro Tempore President Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) very publicly took the accusations seriously and went along with extending the hearing to hear Ford’s testimony.
It was Ford who lied to the Senate to the American people when she said she has a fear of flying so she had to take the time to drive across the country from California to Washington, DC, only to find out that she has flown all over the world. It became obvious to most that the drive across the country was nothing more than a political operation, probably requested by the Democrats, to give more time for media trashing of Kavanaugh and allowing the Democrats to hype up their lies about Ford being such a credible witness who couldn’t tell us exactly when her assault happened, where it took place, or any witnesses except her supposed friend who had no idea what the heck she was even talking about.
Now a sixth woman has come out against the New York Governor, and Harris is MIA.
The latest woman to accuse Cuomo of sexual misconduct was a member of the governor’s Executive Chamber staff, who said she was summoned to the governor’s mansion to assist him with a work-related matter. The woman’s supervisors recently became aware of the allegation and alerted the governor’s counsel of it on Monday.
Is Harris silent about the allegations against Cuomo by six professional women because he's a Democrat or is she silent because there's no way for her to use this to her own political advantage? Someone had to ask.
Remember when ratface Bill Maher started the mantra that Donald Trump was never leaving the White House even if he lost? Well, millions believe he won 2020 by a massive landslide and it was stolen from him, but he still left the White House.
I wonder if ratface will say the same about the governor of New York?
On Sunday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo doubled down on his declaration that he will not resign until New York Attorney General Letitia James completes her investigation into numerous allegations – now up to five women have come forward – of sexual harassment and sexual misconduct against him.
“I was elected by the people of the state. I’m not going to resign because of allegations,” the embattled governor said during a conference call. “There is no way I resign.”
Cuomo said calls for him to resign before an investigation is complete was “anti-democratic,” even though he never even waited for an investigation to even begin when he called for Donald Trump to resign after the January 6 riot at the nation’s Capitol.
“Let the attorney general do her job,” said Cuomo dismissing calls for his resignation as pure politics.
“In the meantime, I’m not going to get distracted by this,” Cuomo said. “What is determinative is what the attorney general finds.” And you know darn right well that his people are working on the Letitia James right now.
We reported that two more women came out and made allegations against the governor over the weekend, bringing the total to five. According to The Washington Post Karen Hinton, 62, a former press aide to the governor said Cuomo asked her to his hotel room back in 2000 after a work event and embraced her. She tried to pull away but he pulled her back into him before she could get away from him and ran out of the room.
Ana Liss, 35, worked as a policy and operations aide for Cuomo for about 2 years between 2013 and 2015. She told the Wall Street Journal that Cuomo would make advances toward her inappropriately touching her back and he even kissed her hand once when she got up from her desk. Once he asked her if she had a boyfriend. Liss is an educated professional who told the Journal that Cuomo’s demeaning behavior made her feel like “just a skirt,” saying that Cuomo’s behavior was not “appropriate, really, in any setting.”
“Every woman has a right to come forward, that’s true, but the truth also matters. What she said is not true,” Cuomo said of Hinton on Sunday adding insult to injury. “She has been a longtime political adversary of mine, highly critical for many, many years, and has made many, many accusations.” In sexual harassment court cases of he said, she said what a prosecutor normally does is try to show a pattern of behavior by the accused. I think five women coming forward at different times, making similar allegations shows a pattern of sexual harassment behavior by Andrew Cuomo.
After calling Hinton a liar, when pressed by a reporter, Cuomo said he was not accusing any of the five women of lying. Then he must have a different definition of what constitutes lying because he said that what Hinton said is not true. In my neighborhood that’s calling someone a liar.
Cuomo tried to blow it off as engaging in “friendly banter” as he did with many employees where he would inquire about their weekend plans and if they were dating.
“If customs change, then I’ll change the customs and the behaviors, but I never meant to make anybody feel uncomfortable,” Cuomo said. So when he kissed Lindsey Boylan on the lips without consent did he think she would get a warm and fuzzy feeling instead of being uncomfortable?
On Sunday, as a throw-away, Cuomo said he will sign the bill that limits his emergency powers that the legislature recently passed.
Representative Elise Stefanik (FR-NY) chastised Cuomo after his Sunday press briefing.
“The Worst Governor in America proves more & more each day why he has earned this title. This press briefing threatening elected officials is textbook Cuomo. He is a criminal sexual predator & a corrupt official who needs to be removed from office.
Don’t let him get away with it”
It appears that New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is going for a half dozen as two more women come forward with allegations of inappropriate conduct by the bully governor. There are calls for his resignation by Democrats and at this point, it’s going to be difficult for him to remain in office if the allegations are true and if even more women stand up now that the floodgates have seemed to open.
Senator Andrea Cousins-Stewart, the NY Senate Majority Leader, said that if one more accuser comes forward it would be time for Cuomo to quit because he would be done. For liberals reading this, her words still count even though it wasn’t one more who came forward but two.
“Any further people coming forward, I think it would be time to resign,” Cousins-Stewart told Spectrum News’ Susan Arbetter after being asked what it would take for her to call for Cuomo’s ouster.
And now it seems that the Senate Majority Leader has to walk the walk because now there are two more who came forward. Apparently, there are a number of other female aides who are talking about more bad behavior by the Democrat governor.
Ana Liss, 35, who worked for Cuomo for two years between 2013 and 2015 as a policy and operations aide, told the Wall Street Journal that the governor, 63, would make advances toward her touching her back and kissing her hand and once asked Liss if she had a boyfriend. The educated professional aide told the Journal that his demeaning behavior made her feel like “just a skirt,” adding that Cuomo’s behavior was not “appropriate, really, in any setting.”
Karen Hinton tells a story of the gross story of when Cuomo embraced her at the end of a work event back in 2000 where she tried to pull away from the governor but he pulled Hinton, 62, back into him before she was able to get away from his clutches.
And it appears that Cuomo isn’t just some sexual pervert with female aides, but a real jerk to male aides as well. Two male aides said that the governor would berate them in public, calling them “pussies” and told them “they have no balls” knowing they couldn’t say anything back because he was the boss. What a jerk. A host of other officials former and current told the Journal that Cuomo would frequently ask women all sorts of personal questions about their dating lives and that he would make comments about their appearance, touching them and asking them to wear high heels. I’m surprised he didn’t make them dance.
With the addition of the two latest to come forward to lend credence to the stories of Lindsey Boylan, Charlotte Bennett, and Anna Ruch, the third not even an aide working for the governor. She had the unfortunate luck of meeting the sexual pest at a wedding when he immediately asked to kiss her.
Boylan took to social media to give praise to Liss and Hinton for coming forward the way they did:
“I am very proud of Ana Liss. She is brave and she speaks for me too.
‘I just wish—I wish that ?@NYGovCuomo? took me seriously,’ she said.
It’s extremely destructive that our boss, the governor of New York, treated us this way.”
About a half-hour later Boylan tweeted directly to the governor.
“Resign you disgusting monster, @NYGovCuomo“
Letitia James, the New York Attorney General’s office confirmed that a notice was sent to Cuomo that his office must preserve all records pertaining to the sexual harassment allegations. Now it’s getting real.
Has anyone heard rat-face Bill Maher saying that Cuomo will never leave office?
One sad aspect of this saga is that though it would be nice to see Cuomo taken down by these sexual harassment allegations, as he should, but with the allegations taking up many of the headlines Cuomo will not go down for the nursing home scandal where he caused the deaths of innocent seniors over his decision to force COVID-19 infected patients into nursing homes.
The Democratic Party of New York now has a decision to make. Will they oust Cuomo who only a few short months ago was treated as a god, won an Emmy award for giving COVID press briefings, and was thought of as a potential presidential candidate? Or will they wait a while to see how much worse it can get for the drowning governor and hope he resigns?
If he worked half as hard to combat COVID in his state as he did trying to get into the pants of his female aides he might have actually earned that Emmy.
After being hit with a third accusation of sexual harassment in under two weeks, Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) has hired a high-powered criminal defense lawyer who once defended sexual predator Harvey Weinstein and alleged pervert Woody Allen against allegations of sexual assault, which is a sure sign that Cuomo believes that his female accusers have him by the short hairs wherever they may be.
A former federal prosecutor, Elkan Abramowitz, who has ties to Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance, who refused to prosecute Weinstein and it was discovered that Weinstein’s legal team funded Vance’s campaign, will serve as legal counsel to the embattled governor and his top aides, according to The Wall Street Journal who reported on it on Monday.
Letitia James, the radical Soros-funded New York Attorney General (AG) is investigating the Cuomo administration, though she hasn’t yet appointed anyone to look into the accusations made by three women who say that Cuomo sexually harassed them, which includes inappropriate kissing and touching without consent and making lewd comments like asking a 25-year-old aide is she had ever had sex with older men and the 63-year-old governor letting her know that “he’s fine with anyone above the age of 22”
“To be clear I never inappropriately touched anybody and I never propositioned anybody and I never intended to make anyone feel uncomfortable, but these are allegations that New Yorkers deserve answers to,” Cuomo said in a statement giving a non-apology apology for the things the women have accused him of doing. He tried to blow it off as “being playful and making jokes that I think are funny.”
So what was the punchline of that joke where he kissed Lindsey Boylan on the lips without consent? Can you imagine? “Two guys walk into a bar and MWUAH! In your face!”
Cuomo asked New Yorkers to hold off judgment until the findings come from an independent investigation – note: there are no independent investigations when Democrats are involved, only rigged circus acts – when he at long last referred the matter to James’ office on Sunday, but that was only after he caught a lot of backlash for first picking former US District Judge Barbara Jones, a former law partner with Steve Cohen, one of Cuomo’s closest advisors. He tried to rig the investigation.
AG James is already looking into the Cuomo administration’s mishandling and possible criminal activities with regard to the nursing home scandal where top Cuomo aide told state Democrats on a conference call that the administration hid the nursing home COVID death numbers because they were afraid that the Trump administration’s Department of Justice would find out the real number of deaths that they lied about after forcing coronavirus patients into nursing homes that killed over 10 thousand seniors. Apparently, the Cuomo administration undercut the death count by over 40 percent.
This isn’t the first time Abramowitz had to get Cuomo out of a mess as he represented the horny old man once for a federal investigation over the governor’s stupid decision to dismantle an anti-corruption panel he created in 2013.
Abramowitz donated $2,100 to DA Vance’s campaign after the DA dropped charges against his client, the infamous sexual predator Harvey Weinstein, even though police provided a recording of the former Hollywood mogul apologizing to his alleged victim and on tape it has him apologizing to her and he promised he wouldn’t do it again.
The attorney also once represented actor Woody Allen on sexual abuse charges that involved his daughter, Dylan Farrow. Abramowitz accused Dylan’s mother, actress Mia Farrow, of planting the idea that Woody molested his own daughter. “The idea that Dylan was molested was implanted by her mother, and that memory is never going to go away,” he said in 2014.
The Democratic New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, at last, has finally responded to the sexual harassment allegations made against him by two women… so far. Of course, Cuomo denied the accusations by his two accusers – who we have been told up until now must be believed – and defended himself by saying, “Some of the things I have said have been misinterpreted as an unwanted flirtation.”
“I never intended to offend anyone or cause any harm,” the statement released on Sunday read.
“At work sometimes I think I am being playful and make jokes that I think are funny,” Cuomo said. “I do, on occasion, tease people in what I think is a good-natured way.”
Welcome to the liberal-created world of sexual harassment in which pieces of garbage like Cuomo have told women that they do a disservice to women when they talk about sexual harassment in government, but go full steam ahead when allegations are made against their political enemies. Like the time Karen DeWitt, a public radio correspondent, asked Cuomo what the state of New York “could do differently” amid a tidal wave of accusations of sexual harassment and sexual assault against prominent men in the mainstream news media and politics, including a former senior official appointed by Cuomo actually responded by saying, “It’s not government. It’s society. It was Harvey Weinstein in the arts industry, it’s comedians, it’s politicians, it’s chefs. It’s systemic, it’s societal, it’s not one person in one area. It’s not just Charlie Rose, it’s not just Matt Lauer, it’s not just journalists. It’s societal.”
The governor continued his non-apology apology.
“I have teased people about their personal lives, their relationships, about getting married or not getting married,” he continued. “I mean no offense and only attempt to add some levity and banter to what is a very serious business.” In other words, it’s not his fault these women can’t take a joke.
We recently reported that a second accuser has come out to make allegations against Cuomo, 25-year-old Charlotte Bennett, alleges that Cuomo asked her if she was romantically involved with someone, if she was monogamous in her relationships, and if she had ever had sex with older men. Yikes!
Cuomo said he wanted to be a mentor for Bennett. Then why did the 63-three-year-old Democratic governor ask Bennett if she ever had sex with older men, and inform her that “he’s fine with anyone above the age of 22” if he wanted to be her mentor? What kind of elderly male mentor speaks like that to women more than half their own age?
“I now understand that my interactions may have been insensitive or too personal and that some of my comments, given my position, made others feel in ways I never intended,” Cuomo stated. May have been? When Bennett once talked about getting a tattoo, Cuomo suggested that she get it placed on her buttocks so people couldn’t see the tattoo if she wore a dress. Yeah, I remember when my mentor said something very similar to me. #EyeRoll
Cuomo then gave an apology to anyone who “misinterpreted” him, “I acknowledge some of the things I have said have been misinterpreted as an unwanted flirtation. To the extent anyone felt that way, I am truly sorry about that.”
In other words, I’m sorry you didn’t understand that I was only trying to be a fatherly figure to you and you’re just too damn stupid to realize it.
Where are all the women’s groups? Why aren’t they going on all the news programs to complain about the man who promotes all of their crazy policies? I think I just answered my own question.
Cuomo said he “never inappropriately touched anybody” and “never propositioned anybody.” He added, “I never intended to make anyone feel uncomfortable.”
Bennett told the New York Times, “He also asked me in the same conversation if I had ever been with an older man.”
Once when Bennett told the governor that she was going to give a speech at Hamilton College where she graduated to students about her experience as a survivor of sexual assault, she said, “The way he was repeating, ‘You were raped and abused and attacked and assaulted and betrayed,’ over and over again while looking me directly in the eyes was something out of a horror movie,” Bennett texted to a friend. “It was like he was testing me.” Who does that? A creepy guy trying to show his sensitive side thinking he’s got a shot at getting with a young woman after she opened up about a sexual assault she survived. This man is sick.
Lindsey Boylan, we reported, was the first former female aide to accuse Andrew Cuomo of sexual harassment. She alleged in a statement that the governor kissed her on the lips without consent, touched her lower back, arms, and legs, joked about playing strip poker, and the harassment went on for years.
“These are allegations that New Yorkers deserve answers to,” Cuomo said on Sunday. “That’s why I have asked for an outside, independent review that looks at these allegations.”
For those who aren’t aware “an outside, independent review” in Democrat language means they’re going to attempt to bury the story by hiring a firm or an individual who in the end will say exactly what the folks paying them tell them to say – think Crowdstrike – and the review process will take a long time because the accused wants to make sure that everything is done properly and by the book, but really what’s going on is they are playing the odds that after a lot of time passes the issue will be long forgotten and considered old news. It’s the standard playbook by Democrats. Instead of asking for an independent review, he could just tell the truth. Who calls for an independent review against themself when they are accused of sexual harassment? If you’re truly innocent you shout from the rooftops that your accusers are full of crap. You don’t offer to authorize an “independent review.” And apparently, it backfired.
Last week, Cuomo personally appointed former US District Judge Barbara Jones to carry out the independent investigation into the accusations but did an about-face on Sunday after the move attracted a lot of criticism. Jones is a former law partner to one of Cuomo’s closest advisors, Steve Cohen. No conflict of interest there, right?
Cuomo had to put together a new statement announcing New York State Attorney General Letitia James (D) and the chief judge of the court of appeals, Janet DiFiore, would jointly select an “independent and qualified lawyer in private practice without political affiliation to conduct a thorough review and issue a public report.”
“We had selected former Federal Judge Barbara Jones, with a stellar record for qualifications and integrity, but we want to avoid even the perception of a lack of independence or inference of politics,” the statement read. “The work product will be solely controlled by that independent lawyer personally selected by the Attorney General and Chief Judge.” If that was the original intent then why did he hand-pick Jones in the first place?
James issued her own statement on the independent investigation.
“The state’s Executive Law clearly gives my office the authority to investigate this matter once the governor provides a referral,” James said. “While I have deep respect for Chief Judge DiFiore, I am the duly elected attorney general and it is my responsibility to carry out this task, per Executive Law. The governor must provide this referral so an independent investigation with subpoena power can be conducted.”
It will be whitewashed, mark my words because in the end Democrats love to virtue signal the rest of us about how to be moral people but they really never hold themselves up to the same standards.
After New York Governor Andrew Cuomo sent the equivalent of biological weapons into the state’s nursing homes by forcing COVID-19 patients to be taken in, thousands of elderly residents were killed by the deadly virus.
We reported recently that a top aide to Governor Cuomo, Melissa DeRosa, admitted on a conference call to state Democrats that the Cuomo administration lied about the number of COVID-19 deaths in nursing homes, incredibly admitting to federal obstruction of justice claiming they did it because when President Trump started pressuring the Cuomo administration on Twitter over how poorly they were handling the pandemic, DeRosa said they froze from fear, and ultimately hid the numbers because they feared a federal Justice Department investigation.
As COVID-19 was emptying out nursing homes state tallies revealed that a miracle took place in a Long Island home showing that they only suffered one death. Wait, what?
After the Cuomo administration was ordered by a judge to release more complete data that must include nursing home deaths who died in hospitals the total amounted to only three more deaths at the Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at South Point.
There’s a resident of the Nassau County home who said that even four deaths are a crock because there were at least two or three people who died every day during the height of the virus pandemic. The resident said that there were so many deaths at that nursing home that the beauty parlor had to be turned into a makeshift morgue. Democrats have gotten away with lying so much and for so long that the Cuomo administration must have figured it would be easy to dismiss all the deaths that occurred there due to COVID-19. They are cruel and heartless people.
“The people just disappeared,” said Jeffrey Fischler, 51, who has been at home for two years. Fischler said that his roommate died, and even though he admits he doesn’t know if the roommate died of COVID or not, he said that the corpse was kept in his room for eight hours simply because they ran out of space for where they could move the body.
Nursing homes are supposed to report deaths to the Department of Health, but the fatality rates being so low, including for the New York City area, which apparently was hit hard, raises questions about whether or not the Department of Health made any valid attempts to verify the numbers.
“One or two deaths, that’s a red flag for me,” said Richard Mollot, the head of an advocacy group called Long Term Care Community Coalition. “If you see anomalies that should be a red flag to at least ask questions.”
The FBI and a US Attorney are now investigating the Cuomo administration over the nursing home deaths.
Even the radical progressive Attorney General Letitia James released a damning report last month where she said the state more-than-likely undercounted nursing home deaths by as much as 50%.
The total number of nursing home residents who died is more than 13,000, with some estimates being as much as 15,000.
“There are gaping discrepancies in the data all over the place, even now with all the additional reporting that they’ve finally done,” said Bill Hammond, a senior fellow for health policy at the Empire Center for Public Policy, the organization that filed a FOIA request to get the Cuomo Administration to release more complete data.
Hammond admitted that there is a possibility that some nursing homes were able to keep the virus at bay and have only a few fatalities. It’s funny how human beings are always wont to give the benefit of the doubt to their adversaries, that is unless they are a Democrat politician.
“Nassau was one of the hardest hit places and they would have had to get really lucky,” he said of the Grand Rehabilitation home. Any Democrat worth his communist card would exploit that statement by saying “Yeah, they got really lucky. That’s what happened.”
Stay tuned for more information on the Cuomo nursing home death scandal as we will report anything new when we get it.
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) and eight other Republican lawmakers on the powerful Senate Judiciary Committee have urged Chairman Dick Durbin (D-IL) to open an investigation into Governor Andrew Cuomo’s increasingly troublesome nursing some death scandal.
Wednesday night, the GOP lawmakers sent a letter asking Durbin to schedule hearings into the conduct of the Cuomo administration since it has been reported that it intentionally withheld the COVID-19 death numbers from nursing homes after Cuomo forced COVID-19 positive patients into nursing homes with the most vulnerable of our society for this pandemic virus, the elderly.
“The American people deserve to know the extent to which Governor Cuomo and his senior staff violated the civil rights of New York seniors, lied to the Department of Justice about their actions, and violated federal civil and criminal laws in the process,” the lawmakers wrote.
“That so many people needlessly lost their lives because of the failed policies of Governor Cuomo’s administration — an administration that many have lauded over the past year — is tragic and deserves a full investigation and accounting.”
Of course, you just know that Durbin and his cohorts in the party are going to use the Cuomo administration’s lie that they did it because President Donald Trump was pressuring them on Twitter.
The GOP Senators who signed with Cruz were Senators Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), John Cornyn (R-TX), Tom Cotton (R-AR), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Josh Hawley (R-MO), Mike Lee (R-UT), and Thom Tillis (R-NC).
In the letter sent to Durbin, the senators said they expect Merrick Garland, President Joe Biden’s attorney general nominee, to commit to investigating this growing scandal.
“When Judge Garland testifies before this Committee, we expect him to commit the Department of Justice to fully investigating this cover-up to determine whether any criminal laws were violated and to prosecute any violations,” they wrote. Not that it will ever happen, because while Democrats make things up against Republicans out of thin air, they rarely ever go after one of their own, and the tyrant governor of New York is most definitely one of their own.
Richard Azzopardi, a spokesman for the governor, slimed on about Cruz’s request, “Every death in this pandemic is a tragedy and shame on the Treason Caucus for exploiting them to distract from fermenting the Capitol insurrection that resulted in the death of a police officer.”
Can you believe that? This putz (a little cultural appropriation) tried to dilute the scandal by referring to a fake scandal against Senator Cruz where in the wake of the Capitol riot on January 6, the Democrats have tried to accuse Cruz of helping to incite the riot while he was inside the Capitol building doing exactly what the Democrats did for the last three Republican White House victories. Azzopardi accused Cruz and the other Republicans of doing exactly what he did in the context of his accusation. The Democrats are sick people.
Last week we reported that a Cuomo top aide, Melissa DeRosa, admitted to a bunch of state Democrats lawmakers that they withheld the COVID-19 nursing home death count over the fear that the numbers would be “used against us” by federal authorities. Isn’t that called obstruction? I thought the Democrats really hated obstruction.
This scandal was made public after New York Attorney General Letitia James reported that she discovered that COVID-19 nursing home deaths were 50 percent higher than Cuomo and the administration claimed.
Also on Wednesday Assemblyman Ron Kim (D-Queens) said he received a threatening phone call from Cuomo last week telling the assemblyman that he’d be “destroyed” if he didn’t help contain the situation. Can you imagine?
Kim said he was “in the middle of bathing my kids,” when Cuomo asked him to write up a statement that would say that DeRosa told state lawmakers that they would comply with federal prosecutors.
Folks, that’s manufacturing false evidence, something the Democrats accused Trump of doing, except unlike the former president, Cuomo allegedly actually did if Kim is telling the truth.
Kim said that during the call Cuomo threatened him saying, “You have not seen my wrath. I have been biting my tongue for months.” The assemblyman said Cuomo then told him, “I can tell the whole world what a bad person you are and you will be finished.” Kim said, and concluded that the governor told him, “You will be destroyed.”
This is worse than any of the lies the Democrats made up about Republicans and apparently it’s a real scandal.
Last month, Cruz introduced an amendment to the COVID-19 relief package that called for a Department Of Justice investigation to determine if officials like Cuomo could be criminally or civilly liable for forcing COVID-19 patients into nursing homes. The senator from Texas shouldn’t hold his breath because there is no way, no how that the Biden DOJ will ever hold Democrats accountable for what they did that ended up killing thousands of seniors.
Cuomo made good on his threats. During a press conference on Wednesday, the governor attacked both Assemblyman Kim and the New York Post for having the gall to expose the nursing home scandal.
It now appears that fellow Democrats, who put up with Cuomo’s arrogance for way too long during the COVID-19 crisis, are now turning on him. On Tuesday, nine state Assembly Democrats accused the governor of federal obstruction of justice in a letter that asks that Cuomo’s COVID-19 emergency powers be stripped. Multiple state Senators asked for the same.
I am admittedly a partisan conservative, but I don’t take too much pleasure watching someone have the world come down on them, but in this case, I think it’s completely justified. Andrew Cuomo has been an obnoxious and arrogant tyrant who not only botched his handling of the pandemic for New Yorkers and not only tried to blame everyone else for his and his administration’s negligence over the nursing home debacle, but he actually wrote a book about what an awesome job he did as governor handling the COVID-19 pandemic.
But, absolutely nothing will happen on the federal level as we now know that President Biden chose not to discuss the scandal during his White House meeting with the governor on Friday, saying “it was not a focus of their conversation or a topic.”
For those of you reading this who are admitted leftists I want you to do something for me. I want you to close your eyes, take some deep, slow breaths, and once your mind has been cleared of everything, think to yourself, what if it was Donald Trump.
New York Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo has again shirked responsibility for thousands of New Yorkers who died because he made a command decision to force COVID-19 patients into nursing homes with the most vulnerable of our society, the elderly. The Hollywood freaks gave this man and me for his press briefings on how he was handling coronavirus.
This time, the arrogant tyrant governor blamed nursing home staff for spreading the virus to their patients. Even if true, it wouldn’t have happened if Cuomo had not decided to put elderly nursing home patients in harm’s way by violating the CDC guidelines and forcing COVID-19 patients in the facilities with them. There is no excuse for that kind of incompetence in leadership.
Cuomo said that people who blame him for the needless COVID-19 deaths are creating a “toxic political environment” and spreading “conspiracy theories.”
Nowadays anything a Democrat doesn’t like that is said about them is labeled a conspiracy theory. Well, there’s no conspiracy theory about this. The Cuomo administration forced COVID-19 patients into nursing homes. That’s not a conspiracy theory, it’s fact.
On Monday, Cuomo spoke at the media about the reports that his administration hid their real coronavirus deal count number in nursing homes when President Donald Trump started pressuring them on social media. Democrats are masters at blaming other people for everything they do. Donald Trump was their scapegoat for four years
We reported last week when the New York Post released a bombshell report where Melissa DeRosa, a top aide to the governor, admitted to a group of New York state Democrats on a Zoom call that the governor’s office withheld the information from state lawmakers because, in her words, they froze when President Trump would tweet negatively about the governor’s handling of the pandemic. And the only reason why Trump tweeted negatively about New York’s abysmal handling of the pandemic is that after all, he did for the state of New York during the pandemic, which amounted to a very large list, Andrew Cuomo after already praising him for what he did for his state, months later started bashing the president because that’s what the party told him to do because they had an election to win.
Since the report, a bipartisan number of state lawmakers have called for investigations to begin and they demanded that Cuomo’s emergency powers be revoked.
“Executive powers have nothing to do with nursing homes and the legislature can overturn executive measures,” Cuomo said during his news conference. “We know the virus can’t be mandated within state boundaries or county boundaries. These are public health decisions, not decisions to be made for local politics. I get these are difficult decisions, but otherwise, people die, and these decisions should not be politicized.”
In other words, Cuomo said that he can do anything he wants because the legislature can stop him if they don’t like what he’s doing. What an inept, blundering sad sack of a man. Even so, the whole point is that the legislature didn’t know what he was doing at the time he was doing it because they hid the data.
He laid out “facts” disputing that his administration hid COVID-19 deaths, despite a damning report from New York State Attorney General Letitia James that said Cuomo’s Department of Health neglected to reveal how many people living in nursing homes died in hospitals, undercounting total nursing home COVID-19 deaths as much as 50%. And don’t forget that his aide spilled the beans to members of the New York party
“The DOH has always fully and publicly reported all COVID-19 deaths in nursing homes and hospitals,” Cuomo said. “They have always been fully reported. Nursing homes had the most vulnerable population, we know that. Nationwide, 36% of the deaths are in nursing homes, you know what percent of the population are people in nursing homes? One percent … New York is 34 in nursing home deaths as a percentage of total deaths. 34 out of 50 states. New York state is one of only [nine] states that counts what’s called ‘presumed fatalities’ in nursing homes.”
The governor said last August the Trump administration’s DOJ requested public information on nursing homes.
“We paused the state legislature’s request. We voluntarily complied with the DOJ request for information. Two very different things,” he claimed. “Nursing homes have the most vulnerable populations, we know that!”
Then why did he force COVID-19 patients on them?
He continued, citing “much distortion” surrounding his March 25, 2020, executive order to push coronavirus patients into nursing homes to free hospital space. But we already know that the hospitals never ran out of space. Trump sent the USNS Comfort to New York to help and they never used any of the 1,000 hospital beds.
The AP reported that over 9,000 COVID-19 patients were released from hospitals and sent to nursing homes because of Cuomo’s executive order. Over 15,000 seniors died.
Cuomo said that at the time he made the blundering decision to kill thousands of seniors the CDC’s guidance advised those coronavirus patients leaving hospitals were not very likely to be contagious and they could be moved into nursing homes. It was a lie.
We reported when Seema Verma, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) administrator, told Breitbart that New York’s Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo originally issued guidance that contradicted federal guidelines for nursing homes battling the pandemic virus.
“I just want to make it very clear that our guidance was absolutely crystal clear,” Verma said in an interview late last week. “It was clear and unmistakable. Any insinuation to the contrary is woefully mistaken at best and dishonest at worst. We put out our guidance on March 13. It’s very clear when it says that, I’m actually going to read this to you, it says that: ‘When should a nursing home accept a resident who is diagnosed with DTMNBN-19?’ It says: ‘A nursing home can accept a resident diagnosed with DTMNBN-19 and still under transmission-based precautions,’ which means if this person is infectious you have to take precautions. It says ‘as long as the facility can follow CDC guidance for transmission-based precautions.’ It says: ‘If a nursing home cannot, it must wait until these precautions are discontinued,’ meaning if you are not able to care for this patient—somebody is still positive and you’re not equipped to care for the patient, then you shouldn’t accept the patient into your care. That’s really important because longstanding discharge—when you’re discharging a patient from the hospital, longstanding guidelines require when you transfer them somewhere you transfer them to a place that can take care of their needs whether they’re going home or they’re going to a nursing home or some other facility.”
Cuomo said that of 613 New York nursing homes, 365 received a person from a hospital. Cuomo claimed that during the time his order was active, 98% of these nursing homes already had COVID-19 in their facility prior to admitting hospital patients. But he still ordered COVID-19 positive patients into nursing homes. The man is insufferable!
“COVID did not get into the nursing homes by people coming from hospitals,” Cuomo said. “COVID got into the nursing homes by staff walking into the nursing home when they didn’t know they had COVID.”
“These decisions are not political decisions,” Cuomo said. They were all political decisions. “They’re all made on the best information the medical professionals had at the time. And in New York we talk to the best experts on the globe. And I’ve said to the people of this state many times, nobody’s been here before, nobody knows for sure — COVID is new.” Again, the CMS administrator called bullschtein.
NY State Republican Senate Minority Leader Rob Ortt gave following statement:
Governor Cuomo’s failure to apologize this afternoon was a shocking slap in the face to the New Yorkers who have lost loved ones to COVID-19. His inability to take blame for the hurt inflicted on our families by his administration’s relentless disinformation campaign is wrong on every level. The Governor seems incapable of comprehending that it was his Administration at fault, and nobody else. He continues to shift the blame anywhere but upon himself and his top officials. The Governor’s major excuse for the failure of his Administration to provide accurate, timely information to the public was, ‘We were busy.’ This is a pathetic response coming from a man who had the time to publish and promote a book about his pandemic response while New Yorkers clamored for the truth. To be clear, the Senate Republicans were never notified by the Governor’s Administration regarding the Department of Justice request. People want the truth and the only way that can be provided is through investigations by the Department of Justice and the Attorney General. We know this even more now because Senate Democrats have shown they were willing partners in the lies and the coverup. For the thousands of New Yorkers who lost a cherished loved one in a nursing home, for those who can’t get a vaccine because of this governor’s tight fisted yet incompetent administration of vaccines, and for the professionals who felt compelled to resign from a Department of Health driven not by science but by politics, justice must be served.
