On Wednesday, the Republican National Committee (RNC) filed a lawsuit against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the January 6 committee, after numerous months of the highly partisan committee’s tyranny, when the committee tried to subpoena RNC databases.
There is no reason to suspect that the RNC had anything to do with their phony “insurrection” talk anymore than Donald Trump had anything to do with their phony “insurrection” talk, anymore than there even was an “insurrection” in the first place. The real insurrection started on November 3, 2020 against newly elected President Donald Trump and ran for four straight years.
“The RNC has sued to stop the January 6th Committee from unlawfully seizing confidential information about the internal activities of the Republican Party and millions of its supporters which is completely unrelated to the attack on the Capitol,” Justin Riemer, RNC chief counsel, said in a statement.
“The select panel has subpoenaed Salesforce.com for the data it maintains for the RNC. Those digital communications enable political parties and other nonprofit organizations to operate and allow for organizations to interact with millions of online users,” the Washington Times reported.
The RNC also said that the Salesforce.com entity collects and maintains RNC data as well, and that includes confidential and “sensitive information about private individuals with whom the organization has engaged, ultimately helping develop and execute political strategies.”
The Democrats are behaving like a Soviet Union Politburo, thinking they can do whatever they want, and it’s all based on a lie. They want the data so that they can attack Republican candidates and elected officials now and during future election campaigns. The gall of these people is staggering.
The lawsuit filed charges that the January 6 committee is demanding documents “that have no connection to the attack on January 6, 2021. Without any limitation to the events of January 6, the Salesforce Subpoena demands production of sensitive and proprietary data over more than a two-month period.”
The January 6 committee set itself up to have no oversight over what they do and no restrictions on what they can demand, all so that it can act as a law enforcement body with no legislative purpose. That is unconstitutional, but when has the Democratic Party ever believed in the limitations found in the Constitution?
The committee, on day one, exceeded its mandate to investigate the two-and-a-half-hour Capitol riot that took place on January 6, 2021, and it has used their so-called “investigation” as a pretext to capture any sensitive information from Republicans, even Trump administration White House documents that are protected by executive privilege.
Another reason the Democrats want the RNC database is because it would give them access to the RNC’s internal campaign strategies and private information on supporters. The Democrats want to publicly trash people who support the Republican Party.
“Nancy Pelosi and the Committee have weaponized Congress’ investigatory powers by issuing this staggeringly broad subpoena which tramples on core First Amendment rights of the RNC and millions of Americans,” Riemer said.
Former House Speak Newt Gingrich proposed the idea that some January 6 committee members could face prison time for “running over the law” and “pursuing innocent people” after the Republicans take back the majority in Congress.
“You’re gonna have a Republican majority in the House, a Republican majority in the Senate. And all these people who’ve been so tough and so mean and so nasty are going to be delivered subpoenas for every document, every conversation, every tweet, every email,” Gingrich said. “I think when you have a Republican Congress, this is all going to come crashing down. The wolves are gonna find out they’re now sheep, and they’re the ones who are, in fact, I think, going to face a real risk of going to jail for the kind of laws that they’re breaking.”
Just the way Democrats have kept people charged with misdemeanors in solitary confinement jail cells for months at a time because they took selfies as they walked around the Capitol building, and not harming anyone is enough to investigate what they have been up to with this committee. There are stories of mistreatment of the January 6 defendants, including being yanked from their cells in the middle of the night to be taken to rooms where they were beaten and humiliated by guards, being denied the right to speak with their attorneys, being denied the right to see the evidence against them, and all kinds of other Constitutional rights being denied. One defendant allegedly lost an eye to the brutal beatings he endured by the guards while in what has become known as the DC Gitmo.
A reckoning has to come to the Democrats and the two loathsome RINOs Liz Cheney (RINO-WY) and Adam Kinzinger (RINO-IL) on the January 6 committee or else we are no longer a Constitutional republic. The things they are getting away with are usually reserved for third-world dictatorships and the former Soviet Union, not the United States of America.
