We may soon know the identities of the rich donors who are backing and funding the Antifa and Black lives Matter riots nationwide.
In an interview with Laura Ingraham on Fox News on Monday President Donald trump said an investigation is underway into who funded a flight of these miscreants to Washington, D.C.
The president started by saying that former Vice President Joe Biden was having his “strings” pulled by “people you have never heard of, people in the dark shadows.”
Ingraham opined that what the president was saying sounded like a conspiracy theory and asked him what he meant.
“They are people that are on the streets, people who are controlling the streets,” the president said.
“We had somebody get on a plane from a certain city, this weekend. And in the plane it was almost completely loaded with thugs wearing these dark uniforms, black uniforms, with gear and this and that. They’re on a plane<’ he said.
The host asked the president for detail to which he said “I’ll tell you some time. It’s under investigation right now.”
President Trump said that someone on a flight ‘from a certain city’ to attend the Republican National Convention had seen a crowd of “thugs.”
“This person was coming to the Republican National Convention and there were like seven people in the plane [with] this person, and then a lot of people were on the plane to do big damage,” he said.
“’The money is coming from some very stupid rich people [who] have no idea that if their thing ever succeeded, which it won’t, they will be thrown to the wolves like you’ve never seen before,” the president said.
Senator Rand Paul, who was also accosted as he left the RNC last week, said he is behind the effort to discover who is funding these riots.
He called for an investigation into who was funding the riots after he and his wife were accosted and Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf confirmed that the investigation is underway in an interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
“This is something that I have talked to the AG personally about,” he said on Monday and, he said, they are focused on “targeting and investigating the head of these organizations, [and] the individuals that are paying for these individuals to move across the country.
“What we know, Tucker, is that we have seen groups and individuals move from Portland to other parts of the country,” he said.
Wolf tore into Portland, Oregon Mayor Ted Wheeler for playing politics and not being concerned with public safety in a letter he sent to him.
“I urge you to prioritize public safety and to request federal assistance to restore law and order in Portland,” he said, The New York Post reported.
“We are standing by to support Portland. At the same time, President Trump has made it abundantly clear that there will come a point when state and local officials fail to protect its citizens from violence, the federal government will have no choice but to protect our American citizens,” he said.
He said that law enforcement has made 255 arrests in his city and 31 riots have been declared since the end of July.
“Despite this,” he said, “you have stood by passively, arguing that the nightly violence ‘will ultimately burn itself out.’ The evidence demonstrates otherwise.”
