President Trump was elected by concerned Americans who wanted “The Wall” built, conservative judges nominated for the Supreme Court, and for him to “Drain The Swamp”, to name a few. The end results of his policies would Make America Great Again.
With a background of a secular New York developer, many Christians like my self have reservations, but in the end, jumped on the Trump Train praying for him to govern conservatively. The idea of a President who would fight for life, cut taxes and regulations, get us out of wars and defend Christian liberties, would be exactly what our country needed.
What has surprised some who are engaged in Civics, is the effect the Executive Branch, primarily the President but also his cabinet members, can make through regulatory reforms. A lot of these are building quite a legacy for President Trump to go along with the staggering number of judges he had put on the federal benches in only 3 and a half years.
Here are some things that just make sense
- Made America Energy Independent
- Added exemptions for pro-life doctors and hospitals from performing abortive services or providing medications
- Protected religious freedoms for businesses to reject business that goes against their religiously held beliefs.
In addition here are some specific changes
From The Blaze
The Trump administration announced a change in policy that would protect women in homeless shelters, but transgender activists say it will target and punish differently gendered persons.
Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson released a statement about the rules change on Wednesday. “The new rule allows shelter providers that lawfully operate as single-sex or sex-segregated facilities to voluntarily establish a policy that will govern admissions determinations for situations when an individual’s gender identity does not match their biological sex,” the statement read. Trump Signs Order Supporting Inclusion of Faith-Based Foster, Adoption Agencies in Child Placement Partnerships
President Trump has signed an executive order on “Strengthening the Child Welfare System for America’s Children”, which includes text ensuring that faith-based foster and adoption agencies are treated equally in respect to working with local governments to place children with loving forever families. “Several factors have contributed to the number of children who wait in foster care for extended periods.
First, state and local child welfare agencies often do not have robust partnerships with private community organizations, including faith-based organizations,”.
“Second, those who step up to be resource families for children in foster care — including kin, guardians, foster parents, and adoptive parents — may lack adequate support,” it outlines.
“Third, too often the processes and systems meant to help children and families in crisis have instead created bureaucratic barriers that make it more difficult for these children and families to get the help they need.”
Almost all the changes President Trump has completed came at the expense of former President Obama. With a completely different view, Trump has moved the cultural needle more back towards the center. With a second term and if the GOP can take back control of the US House too, we can expect a little more sanity to return, and a lot more angry snowflakes in the process.
