In a recent interview, Senator Bernie Sanders acknowledged former President Donald Trump's efforts to address the nation's opioid crisis, particularly in combating the influx of fentanyl. When asked if there was anything he believed Trump had done right, Sanders responded, "Yeah. I think cracking down on fentanyl, making sure our borders are secure."

Fentanyl, a synthetic opioid significantly more potent than morphine, has been a major contributor to the surge in overdose deaths across the United States. Efforts to curb its distribution have been a focal point for both federal and state governments.

Sanders' recognition of Trump's actions underscores the necessity of bipartisan collaboration in tackling the opioid epidemic. By acknowledging the previous administration's measures, Sanders emphasizes that addressing public health crises transcends political affiliations.
