Pete Buttigieg Celebrates Supply Chain ‘Victory’ As Supermarket Shelves Go Empty Across the Country

In the ultimate gaslighting, Pete Buttigieg edge edge edge, the Secretary of Transportation on Tuesday was referred to as the man who “saved Christmas” due to the way he has handled the supply chain crisis (what the heck did he do?) while Americans are trending on social media posting photos of grocery shelves that are empty or near empty from places all across the country.

Buttigieg spoke during a presser at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, telling Americans that the crisis will continue throughout the pandemic, and then made them endure some self promotion over the transportation of merchandise over Christmas.

“As long as the pandemic persists, as long as we are making up for decades of past disinvestment, we are going to see impacts on shipping times and shipping cost,” Buttigieg said. “When there is an issue affecting ports here, you will feel it as far away as my Indiana hometown.”

This guy took two months of paternity leave as the country’s supply chain crisis began. He was nowhere to be found. This is going to be very unpopular, but someone has to ask. Since when do we allow paternity leave for men who do not live with a spouse who delivered a baby? I thought maternity leave was for the mother who just delivered a baby to recuperate her body while at the same time bonding with the newborn and nurturing the baby at his/her most vulnerable time in life, and paternity leave was for fathers who either took care of the child because the mother had other things to do or he took leave to help the mother during her maternity leave. Thanks to woke policies, the country had no one at the helm for months while shelves went bare.

“Not only is this about the presents under the tree, this is about essential goods like medical goods that are needed in this moment of continued public health challenge,” he said.

I’m surprised he didn’t blame the supply chain crisis on the unvaccinated, though it’s still early.

The Transportation Secretary praised goods being shipped over the Christmas holidays as an “extraordinary achievement,” claiming that the Los Angeles and Long Beach ports “processed 14 percent more containers compared to those processed in 2018 over the same time period.”

Democrats always do that. When talking about a complete failure to do their job, they pull some statistic out of their Buttigieg to make it appear that they did a great job and the people are just too stupid to understand.

“One of the reasons why Christmas was not in fact canceled is that ports like LA and Long Beach moved record levels or goods, allowing an all-time record high in terms of retail sales his holiday season,” he said.

Meanwhile, the last time it was updated, ships were averaging 16 day waiting periods off the coast of California. On December 11, there were 90 cargo ships off the coast of Southern California, 30 right off the coast and 60 more sitting further out to sea due to weather.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, the COVID tyrant of LA, further hailed Buttigieg as the “man who saved Christmas.”

From CNBC:

“Albertsons shares fell 9.75% to $28.79 at market close, after the company detailed the supply chain challenges and inflated costs it’s seeing on its earnings call,” said CNBC. “The dive in its stock occurred even though the grocer raised its fiscal 2021 forecast. Shares of Kroger fell about 3%, while Walmart shed less than 1%.”

Americans from all across the country are sharing photos of empty shelves in grocery stores.

And of course, my own experience.
