I think everyone remembers when rapper Kanye West cut off singer Talor Swift during her award acceptance insinuating that her win was about race and that singer Beyonce should have been given that award instead. “Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time!,” Kanye said, starting a decades-long feud.
Well, former President Obama just pulled that crap following the horrific deaths of 19 small children and 2 teachers. In a tweet that he fashioned to look like condolence to the grief-stricken families, Obama made the argument to ‘not forget about George Floyd. The man was killed during a police interaction in Minneapolis for suspicion of using counterfeit money. His death marked a summer filled with riots, looting, and violence.
“As we grieve the children of Uvalde today, we should take time to recognize that two years have passed since the murder of George Floyd under the knee of a police officer. His killing stays with us all to this day, especially those who loved him.”
He continued, “In the aftermath of his murder, a new generation of activists rose up to channel their anguish into organized action, launching a movement to raise awareness of systemic racism and the need for criminal justice and police reform.”
He didn’t stop there. Obama also shared a ‘fundraiser project’ that supposedly brings awareness to the police-involved killing of black men:
The Uvalde elementary school that was just targeted by a deranged killer was majority Hispanic. Of course, the victims have not all been named, but it’s pretty fair to assume they were also majority Hispanic. In addition, the shooter was also Hispanic. So what in the hell do those horrific deaths have to do with race?
This was clearly Obama using the death of almost two dozen innocent souls to push the racial divide and liberal the narrative that law enforcement officers are ‘evil’. It’s tone-deaf, heartless, and disrespectful to the victims and their families.
Go ahead and tell me I’m wrong.
