No, Mr. Obama, Republicans Are Not Crazy for Investigating Voter Fraud

Since president Barack Obama’s second presidential term ended in January of 2017, he has attempted to remain relevant on the political stage by commentating on the political happenings of the nation. Today, he had a doozy of a take on the 2020 presidential election. Obama said in a clip of a interview set to air in Sunday’s episode of “60 Minutes” that Republicans who support President Donald Trump’s efforts to examine potential voter fraud in the results are undermining democracy and setting a dangerous precedent for the future of this country. “It is one more step in de-legitimizing not just the incoming Biden administration but Democracy generally,” Obama said. “And that’s a dangerous path.” While Obama is trying to paint the Republican party as a group of zealots whose only concern is maintaining political control, his take is actually far from the truth. After one of the most contentious presidential elections in U.S. history, the results of many state elections were immediately investigated due to suspicion of voter fraud. Swing states like Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia and Pennsylvania mysteriously trended toward towards Joe Biden in the early morning hours of election night after Trump had sustained leads in all these states. That is eerily suspicious. How can four key swing states, in a matter of hours, somehow change course to support one particular candidate that the media and many corrupt officials want to see elected president? I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but it does not take a genius to see a fishy patter developing here. As a result of these events, Ronna McDaniel, Chair of the Republican National Committee, launched an investigation into these voter fraud claims and compiled a list of “234 pages containing 500 sworn affidavits alleging 11,000 incidents of various types of voter fraud.” While we do not know how many of this evidence, that is a stunning and frightening number that merits an investigation. Hopefully, these findings will be brought before courts and examined so the truth can be found However, Obama has the gall to say that the Republicans are the ones who are undermining democracy and fueling a dangerous narrative. It is actually quite the opposite. Our country was founded on the principle that “we the people” would decide who would rule us, and if “we the people” did not decide this election, then we the people have a right to know. If voter fraud was that rampant in this election, then we need to ensure that the American people’s voice determined this election, not fraudulent results. Obama is actually the one fueling a dangerous narrative by claiming that seeking integrity in elections is a bad thing. We deserve to know the results, regardless of what Obama and the Left claim.
