This week, a Fabrizio, Lee & Associates poll showed that Trump-endorsed Wyoming Republican House candidate Harriet Hageman is the “overwhelming favorite” to throw out establishment RINO and party traitor Representative Liz Cheney.
Hageman is leading Cheney among primary voters by 28 points. Hageman got 56% of the vote, while Cheney received just 28%. Unless they’re going to use Dominion, I don’t see how Cheney wins.
Hageman has watched her lead over Cheney grow over time from an 8 point lead in December to where she is today.
“Harriet Hageman is now the overwhelming favorite to remove Liz Cheney from Congress and give Wyomingites a real conservative voice in Congress who will represent them and their interests,” the pollster declared.
Poll results showed Hageman is viewed favorably in a 2-1 margin, and Cheney is strongly disliked. While 58% view Hageman favorably, only 29% do not. That’s exactly where she wants to be right now.
Liz Cheney’s favorability rating dropped from -40% to -47%. Of the respondents, 73% view Cheney unfavorably with 66% “very unfavorably.”
The survey asked whom they would vote for in the August 16 primary. The pollster wrote, “A huge 71% majority say they will vote against her, including 66% who will definitely vote against Cheney no matter who she runs against,” adding, “With only 26% say they will definitely or probably vote for Cheney, she has hit her ceiling on the ballot.”
“Furthermore, Hageman has successfully captured the bulk of these anti-Cheney voters by winning over undecideds and some Bouchard voters over the past six months, leaving little doubt as to who will win this race,” the poll’s research reads.
In a straw poll taken in January that was considered a SmackDown, Cheney lost to Hageman by a vote of 59 to 6 with a total of 74 votes cast in the poll.
A spokesperson for Cheney offered a terse response to the results in a manner that only a loser can impart.
“The only elections that matter are in August and November,” Jeremy Adler, spokesman for the Cheney campaign, said.
On February 17 of this year, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) endorsed Harriet Hageman over Cheney, saying in a statement, “The most successful Representatives in Congress focus on the needs of their constituents, and throughout her career, Harriet has championed America’s natural resources and helped the people of Wyoming reject burdensome and onerous government overreach.”
I wrote in the past why I think Cheney lost her way. She became consumed with attacking Trump and it cost her a seat.
Cheney has an axe to grind against former President Donald Trump, and she continues to wrongfully accuse him of being responsible for the riot that took place at the Capitol on January 6. She has outright lied about Trump shirking responsibilities to protect the Capitol that were never his in the first place. On top of that, somehow, Cheney missed the fact that the former president offered thousands of National Guard troops to protect the Capitol and Nancy Pelosi turned down every offer. Why doesn’t the committee question Pelosi’s role?
House Republicans removed Cheney from a leadership position and the Wyoming Republican Party censured Cheney in January 2021 for her vote to impeach President Trump.
Cheney probably thought the January 6 Select Committee’s state-run show trial event that aired Thursday night would square her with her constituents, but her constituents. like the rest of the country, know that the entire committee is a sham. It’s not even a constitutional committee. Constitutionally, a committee in Congress can only be done for legislative purposes, not law enforcement purposes. There was not a single person on the committee who supports Donald Trump. Nancy Pelosi hand-picked every member of the committee, and they all just happen to hate Trump. The two picks that Minority Leader McCarthy chose to sit on the committee were rejected by Pelosi and she seated Cheney and Adam Kinzinger (RINO-IL), two Trump haters, in their stead. The committee ignored tons of evidence of voter fraud that Trump spokeswoman Liz Harrington tweeted that you can see here.
The entire point of the committee is to harm Trump so that he cannot run in 2024 and to harm the Republican brand and outside of radical leftists and Trump haters, it’s not working.
