The Intercept reported:
NEWLY RELEASED DOCUMENTS provide details of U.S.-funded research on several types of coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China. The Intercept has obtained more than 900 pages of documents detailing the work of EcoHealth Alliance, a U.S.-based health organization that used federal money to fund bat coronavirus research at the Chinese laboratory. The trove of documents includes two previously unpublished grant proposals that were funded by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, as well as project updates relating to EcoHealth Alliance’s research, which has been scrutinized amid increased interest in the origins of the pandemic.
US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) director Dr. Anthony Fauci (Dr. Faucistein) who is also the chief medical advisor to President Joe Biden is being called on the carpet to give an explanation for the shocking report by The Intercept about “gain of function” research that the National Institute of Health (NIH) funded the Wuhan Institute of Virology (the Wuhan lab) through a third party EcoHealth Alliance. The Wuhan lab is where more and more doctors believe was where the COVID-19 virus was created.
Fauci won’t even admit that it was gain of function research. According to Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), who is also a medical doctor, they took a spike gene from a coronavirus that was not easily transmissible, and they took genetic information from another coronavirus from bats and added genomes from that to the virus they were working with, to make it deadly to humans and highly transmissible to humans. If that’s not gain of function work then I don’t know what is.
Four months ago in May, Fauci testified before a committee that was investigating if the US funded gain of function research being done at the Wuhan lab and he responded that the NIH, “has not ever and does not now fund gain of function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology.”
Remember, it is a felony to lie to Congress, and Senator Paul has already referred Dr. Fauci for a criminal referral for possibly perjuring himself with testimony in front of Congress.
Via a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, The Intercept discovered evidence that Fauci’s NIH issued a “bat coronavirus grant” to EcoHealth Alliance for “$3.1 million, including $599,000 that the Wuhan Institute of Virology used in part to identify and alter bat coronaviruses likely to infect humans.”
Peter Daszak, President of EcoHealth Alliance, made a statement back in December that studying bats at the Wuhan lab was,you guessed it, a conspiracy theory and that the Wuhan lab did not have any bats alive or dead in the facility. I remember doing a story of video that was discovered showing Wuhan lab workers playing with the bats inside the lab.
This is a widely circulated conspiracy theory. This piece describes work I'm the lead on & labs I've collaborated w/ for 15 yrs. They DO NOT have live or dead bats in them. There is no evidence anywhere that this happened. It's an error that I hope will be corrected.

Now, Daszak refuses to hand over documents requested by House Republicans.
Molecular biologist at Rutgers U, Dr. Richard Ebright, explained to the Intercept some of the findings in the documents released.
“The materials show that the 2014 and 2019 NIH grants to EcoHealth with subcontracts to WIV funded gain-of-function research as defined in federal policies in effect in 2014-2017 and potential pandemic pathogen enhancement as defined in federal policies in effect in 2017-present,” Ebright said. “The materials confirm the grants supported the construction — in Wuhan — of novel chimeric SARS-related coronaviruses that combined a spike gene from one coronavirus with genetic information from another coronavirus, and confirmed the resulting viruses could infect human cells.”
That is gain of function research no matter how many times Fauci lies about it.
“The materials reveal that the resulting novel, laboratory-generated SARS-related coronaviruses also could infect mice engineered to display human receptors on cells (‘humanized mice’),” Ebright continued. “The materials further reveal for the first time that one of the resulting novel, laboratory-generated SARS-related coronaviruses — one not been previously disclosed publicly — was more pathogenic to humanized mice than the starting virus from which it was constructed and thus not only was reasonably anticipated to exhibit enhanced pathogenicity, but, indeed, was *demonstrated* to exhibit enhanced pathogenicity.”
This puts Dr. Fauci in heap big doo-doo trouble.
Dr. Ebright also implied that Dr. Fauci was being “untruthful” in his testimony to the Senate.
Not at all surprised that no Democrats I heard about have come forward with concerns over any of the controversies surrounding this, but several Republicans have asked that Fauci face a full investigation and that he has to be truthful about his and his agency’s funding research at the Wuhan lab.
The former White House doctor who got elected to Congress, Representative Ronny Jackson (R-TX), demanded answers and wants Fauci removed as a top health advisor to President Biden.
Fauci's NIH funded DANGEROUS gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Laboratory. The same man that wants to mask your kids and keep us LOCKED DOWN forever helped cause this pandemic. How does he still have a job? Fauci needs to be FIRED and INVESTIGATED immediately! pic.twitter.com/BkCvMD1gDt

Over 4 million human beings died worldwide as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic virus. If Dr. Fauci and the NIH agency funded research that was used to create it, heads should roll.
