A woman had posted on Twitter saying that her Dad who owned a “Boutique Hotel” in Nashville had seen the RV parked for two days and had security cam footage. He had been put in touch with the Nashville PD.
“My dad’s boutique hotel has a full video of the blast area. It’s shows the RV there for a day and a 1/2 before the explosion. Please get in touch with him” original tweet was deleted.
There is a reward of over $300,000 that has been raised as information that leads to the arrest and conviction of a suspect involved in an explosion.
THe Metro Nashville PD asked for more information on the RV, with photos in their post below.
ABC news reported on the explosion:
“Officers were working to evacuate nearby buildings when, around 6:30 a.m., the RV exploded, blowing out the windows of nearby buildings.
Human remains have been found at the scene of the explosion in downtown Nashville, multiple law enforcement sources told ABC News.
The remains have not been identified and it’s unclear whether they’re identifiable.
“We found tissue that we believe could be human remains,” Metro Nashville Police Chief John Drake said at a press conference Friday evening. “We’ll have that examined, and we’ll be able to tell you from that point.”
Catherine Herridge from CBS News reported:
“#NashvilleExplosion From Scott Sweetow Retired Acting Director Terrorist Explosive Device Analytical Center (TEDAC) + 3 decades ATF Sweetow @S3G_Consulting is an expert on IEDs: If explosion originated in RV, would take extremely high heat + likely hundreds of pounds of high explosive to eviscerate vehicle of that size. Notes: axles, frames, engine, very durable to blasts. Also if explosion sufficient to eviscerate RV, would expect extremely LARGE crater similar to Oklahoma City bombing + complete building collapse (especially older brick in Nashville)”
The Epoch Times reported:
Chief of Police John Drake told reporters during a press conference on Friday afternoon that he wouldn’t elaborate on where the possible human remains were found.
He said police officers arrived before the explosion happened and found a dire message being broadcast from the now-exploded RV about 15 minutes prior to the blast.
The officers were able to evacuate the area successfully.
“They heard an RV giving out a message, basically saying that it was going to detonate within a certain timeframe,” he said. “Officers immediately began knocking on doors evacuating residents here, not knowing that the bomb was going to detonate immediately, or if it’s going to go off to the time that it was stated.”
Drake said the explosion was a total surprise and the police didn’t get any advance notice before the event.
“I thought maybe it was going to be a propane explosion of explosives from an RV and it turned out to be an intentional act,” he said.
“We have not received any threat whatsoever,” he added.
The Police Department is asking for any information on the RV.
The public was still raising money.
