Opinion| I think that a case could be made against Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler for treason. If a general were to lay down arms and allow the enemy to capture his command without a fight, that is treason. (See Benedict Arnold) So, wouldn’t a mayor of a city who turns over his charge to BLM and antifa also be equally guilty?

The riots in Portland have gotten way out of hand and now at least three federal officers could be blind for life after rioters shone lasers into their eyes as the pelted the federal courthouse with mortars and high grade fireworks as well as the attempts they have made to trap the feds inside the building as they try to burn it down to the ground.

Wheeler has allowed the riots to continue for more than 55 days. But, at the end of the day Wheeler will insist that the federal government bail his city out of the mess they are currently experiencing.

Deputy Director of Federal Protective Service, Richard “Kriss” Cline, told reporters on Tuesday that 1,000 rioters tore the planks off the windows inside the federal courthouse and that they began to throw things at the officers.

Cline says that when officers came out to put out the fires, the rioters aimed laser pointers at them, blinding at least three of them, possibly for life. And still not one peep from the Democratic leaders who appear to showing their pleasure with the rioters by their unseemly silence or their praise of the so called “peaceful protesters.”

The Blaze reported:

Also during the news conference, Department of Homeland Security Acting Secretary Chad Wolf took aim at the city of Portland for its apparent disinterest in quelling the violence.

“These individuals carried lasers, baseball bats, explosive fireworks, metal pipes, glass bottles, accelerants, and other weapons all targeting federal facilities and federal law enforcement,” Wolf said. “And yet the city of Portland takes little to no action.”

Federal officers have been active in Portland since earlier this month despite resistance from Democratic officials.
