Former San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro formally announced his bid for the Democratic 2020 presidential nomination on Saturday, telling a crowd in San Antonio that he is running for president.

Julian Castro, a failed ex-HID secretary of Obama, has announced he is running for president in 2020. His platform, “We’re going to make sure the promise of America is available to everyone in this 21st century,” he told the crowd.

I suspect that there will be many more lightweight Democrats/Socialists that will make a bid to be the  Democrat presidential candidate for 2020. If Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez can become a rising star representative for Democrats out of the huge state of New York, well then, the standard isn’t very high.

“Julián Castro has made history by becoming one of the biggest lightweights to ever run for president,” RNC Spokesman Michael Ahrens said in a statement. “He was a weak mayor who couldn’t even handle being HUD secretary. This is obviously just another desperate attempt to become someone else’s running mate.”

The article pointed out,

“Castro, 44, will face a packed field for the Democratic nod to challenge President Trump in 2020. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., announced last week that she has formed an exploratory committee, and visited Iowa last week. On Friday Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii, announced that she is running.”

We predict the Presidential race in 2020 will be uglier than the one in 2016. We are at a point in time where every America must stand up and make their voices heard. Call you legislature locally and on the Hill to let them know how you feel about policies and rhetoric happening in government. Stay educated on what legislation is being created and share it on social media. Let people know why you do or don’t support certain items. You may be the only sound voice people will here.
