Judicial Watch Calls DOD Diversity Training “Anti-American” as DOD Briefs on New SJW Term

Department of Defense had a press briefing Tuesday, with Jonathan Rath Hoffman, assistant to the secretary of defense for public affairs, who talked to Pentagon reporters about diversity and inclusion, prejudice and education on inclusion and the memo from July 15 that one top activist is calling ” 2015 Obama Crazy Training with Propaganda”, and the Memo is indeed intended to “shift culture” as the author of it, himself points out.

The Memo calls for the uprooting of any “extremist groups” who may have a subconscious bias, and for the DOD to implement a new system ” to include bias awareness and bystander intervention in response to improper remarks or other communications made by peers or superiors.”

Bystander Intervention is a Social Justice term meant to teach people that “preventing harassment is everybody’s responsibility. An engaged bystander is someone who lives up to that responsibility by intervening.”

According to the DOD Memo, one of the top priorities of the DOD is to “Develop educational requirements for implementation across the military lifecycle to educate the force on unconscious bias.”

The news comes at a time when  Tom Fitton, President of Judicial Watch, a citizen watchdog group responsible for numerous FOIA lawsuits against corrupt public officials comes to light.

From their press release, “Judicial Watch announced today that it obtained 1,483 pages of teaching materials and 26 pages of budget records from the Department of Defense (DOD) produced by the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI) that are used by DOD’s “equal opportunity advisors” to train service members on diversity topics. The documents were obtained in response to a Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.

The teaching materials include “Student Study Guides” written for “Equal Opportunity Advisor Courses,” that are critical of persons who “believe that human similarities are more important than differences;” advise people to acknowledge their privilege when “it is pointed out to them;” claim that heterosexuals have “sexual orientation privilege;” and that “religious privilege” exists.”

An example of “modern racism” is saying things like “Discrimination is a thing of the past … tactics and demands of activists are unfair … racism is bad.”

The document also states that another form of racism is “aversive racism.” Aversive racists, say the authors, “put high value on egalitarian beliefs.”

In a chart labeled “Racist Behavior” the authors break racism into “traditional,” “symbolic,” “modern” and “aversive” categories, in which modern racists believe minorities are “undeserving of special efforts to redress past inequities.” The chart also indicates that people who oppose “policies designed to address racial equality” or feel that those policies are violations of “norms and fairness” are modern racists.”

According to their website, “The National Defense Strategy provides a clear roadmap for the Department of Defense to meet the challenges posed by a re-emergence of long-term strategic competition with China and Russia. The National Defense Strategy acknowledges an increasingly complex global security environment, characterized by overt challenges to the free and open international order.”
