Over the weekend, Michigan Governor and tyrant Gretchen Whitmer (D) got caught defying her own COVID-19 pandemic restrictions when a photograph was captured of her eating at a restaurant with more human beings than her current pandemic restrictions allow. OH NO!
At least it wasn’t a French Laundry, said no one from California. By the way, does Whitmer meet the requirements for Michigan’s recall process?
Breitbart News secured a photo revealing Whitmer at a bar in East Lansing called the LandShark with more than a dozen other people in violation of her own COVID-related restrictions.
According to Breitbart News:
“Whitmer and a large group of friends, including her appointed chief operations officer, Tricia Foster, visited the Landshark in East Lansing, violating her restaurant orders in the process, according to a photo one of the attendees posted on Facebook. The photo, posted Saturday, was part of a montage. Shortly after, Whitmer’s friend deleted the collage and reposted it sans the governor and one of her top aides.”

Apparently, it wasn’t good publicity for the dive bar she attended, as it was described, thanks to her breaking her own rules giving the event newsworthy attention.
It only took Whitmer about a week to break her own restrictions after issuing updated COVID guidance last week. On May 15, Governor Whitmer announced restrictions prohibiting indoor dining at restaurants by parties of more than six people and by groups of people who “intermingle.”
I see thirteen people in that photo, and someone had to take the picture, so at least 14 people were in that room, none of them wearing masks or social distancing.
From the governor’s latest guidelines:
Gathering limitations for entertainment establishments, recreational establishments, and food service establishments.
- Gatherings are prohibited at entertainment establishments and recreational establishments unless:
- Establishments make a good faith effort to ensure that:
- Groups of patrons participating in activities together (such as those seated together at a concert or movie, or bowling in the same lane or group of lanes) do not exceed 25 persons indoors, or 300 persons outdoors;
- Patrons do not mingle with or engage in physical contact with persons outside their group; and
- Establishments make a good faith effort to ensure that:
- If participating in stationary activities, groups are spaced or seated at least 6 feet apart. If participating in non-stationary activities, groups maintain a consistent 6 feet of distance from other groups at all times;
- Consumption of food or beverages is permitted only where patrons are seated, groups of patrons are separated by at least 6 feet, no more than 6 patrons are seated at a table, and groups of patrons do not intermingle;
- Establishments that are also food service establishments, as a condition of offering food or beverages, ensure their designated dining areas comply with all requirements in subsection (b);
Whitmer’s office responded to growing anger and resentment online by admitting she broke her own rules. The governor’s office released a press statement.
“Throughout the pandemic, I’ve been committed to following public health protocols. Yesterday, I went with friends to a local restaurant. As more people arrived, the tables were pushed together. Because we were all vaccinated, we didn’t stop to think about it. In retrospect, I should have thought about it. I am human. I made a mistake, and I apologize.”

Last month Whitmer was called out for her own hypocrisy when she traveled to Florida earlier this year even though he banned travel to and from the Sunshine State because all the progressives are hating on Florida since they are one of the few states that have proven the tyrants like Whitmer have screwed up their handling of the pandemic in their own states.
Whitmer banned travel with Florida so that she could blame her state’s COVID problems on Michiganders returning from Florida after summer vacation. And after banning travel to and from Florida the governor decided to take a little vacation there herself.
Now, the FAA is investigating her trip because it appears that the jet she used to go to Florida was not licensed to operate as a charter.
What a hypocrite!
