Gov. Tom Wolf’s Virtue Signaling Republicans Over Pittsburgh Bridge Collapsing Fell Apart Almost Immediately

Pennsylvania Democrat Governor Tom Wolf, a truly despicable politician, wasted zero time throwing out partisan accusations against Republicans after a bridge in Pittsburgh collapsed on Friday.

However, Wolf’s accusations quickly fell apart. I think Democrats believe the voters are forgetful of the things politicians do and that’s always their downfall. It’s why most people know they’re full of horse hockey when they virtue-signal and pontificate.

After almost a dozen people were injured from the Forbes Avenue bridge collapsing not long before Friday morning rush hour traffic, Governor Wolf wasted no time attacking Republicans for the bridge falling down.

Wolf accused Republican members of Congress who voted against Joe Biden’s $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill that wasn’t really going to go to infrastructure by the definition of “infrastructure” that we’ve all understood in the BW (Before Woke) era.

That bill has earmarks for $550 billion in new infrastructure spending that was not targeted at the bridge that collapsed.

Wolf took to social media to tweet out a series of messages to blame Republicans in Congress for a bridge that collapsed in his state.

“This morning a bridge collapsed in Pittsburgh. Multiple cars and a bus fell about 100ft down a hillside. There was also a large gas leak. First responders arrived quickly. Luckily there were no fatalities so far—they are still searching for possible victims under the collapse.”

The governor followed up quickly with virtue signaling.

“We shouldn’t have to rely on luck to keep people safe. I’m thankful to @POTUS@SenBobCasey, & Democrats in the Congressional delegation who fought for the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. These are life-changing investments in building and repairing our nation’s infrastructure.”

And the third tweet, all three in under a minute, was an attack on Republicans.

“Shame on the Republican lawmakers who didn’t support the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Pennsylvanian lives are on the line. It’s long past time for the political games to come to an end.”

Think about this for a moment. Had the disastrous spending bill passed, that bridge would not have been currently under construction right now anyway, and Wolf knows it. More on that in a minute.

As the governor was shamelessly attacking Republicans who had nothing to do with the collapse of the bridge, he said not a peep about the Democrats who also did not vote for the bill, including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Cori Bush (D-MO), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), the open antisemitic bigot Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), all members of The Squad in the House of Representatives.

The bridge that collapsed not long before Biden was planning to give a speech in the city was “not targeted for improvements under the federal infrastructure bill,” according to a report by WRC-TV.

Wolf must forget that it was reported in 2019 that he diverted $4.2 billion from PennDOT road and bridge repairs to fund state police, according to an audit, which means Wolf didn’t mention it publicly.

On top of that, government data show the Keystone State is already set to get more than $327 million in federal funding for bridge repair and replacement with $48 million of that targeted at “off system” bridges like the Forbes Avenue bridge that collapsed Friday morning.

And this is what really makes Wolf look like the south end of a northbound horse. The Forbes Avenue bridge “is not among the highway and bridge projects targeted for federal funding in the state’s 2021 transportation improvement program,” WRC-TV outlet reported.

WRC-TV said, “City officials haven’t said why the bridge, built in 1970, wasn’t placed on the list for federal infrastructure funding.”

Even the left-wing New York Times, did a piece reporting that engineers cite that years of deferred maintenance on the Forbes Avenue bridge is likely what caused its collapse.

He never blamed the Republicans for the bridge he blamed them for not signing on to the infrastructure bill. So you statement is false to partial false
