The Republican Party is making some changes in the New Year, and appears some of them have found their backbone! That is how many Independent and Conservatives are going to view this story about the actions of the Republican party on Thursday.

The Republican party is pushing back, and not in a light and funny way. This is not a pillow fight- they are taking their “toys home”.

The Republican National Committee (RNC)  says it will require candidates to pledge to not participate in debates run by the Commission on Presidential Debates. What would replace them, if anything, was unclear.

“There’s far more energy in the G.O.P. base behind abandoning institutions than there used to be,” The New York Times reported.

The obviously partisan commission has been embattled for years, even from it’s start in 1987, by Republicans and Conservatives, and the mainstream media has always covered for them, by making excuses for blatant and frustrating partisan favoritism.

The levels to which they went to marginalize and harm President Donald J. Trump, however, was something the MSM could not hide from the massive movement of public support for Trump and his America First agenda.

ABC News reported on the announcement:

“BREAKING: The RNC says it plans to make a major change heading into the 2024 election by prohibiting party nominees from participating in debates sponsored by the Commission on Presidential Debate”

The Republican National Committee says it plans to make a major change heading into the 2024 election by prohibiting party nominees from participating in debates sponsored by the Commission on Presidential Debates.

In a letter sent on Thursday and obtained by ABC News, the GOP informed the debate commission that it plans to make changes to its party rules during its upcoming winter meeting that would “prohibit future Republican nominees from participating in CPD-sponsored debates.”

Maggie Haberman reported, “The RNC plans to make a change in its rules at its winter meeting in Salt Lake City next month. RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel informed CPD co-chair Frank Fahrenkopf of the plan in a letter today.”

A major issue for the RNC has been the timing of the first presidential debate next time, after voting changes in various states meant more than 1 mill ballots were cast before the Sept 29 debate between Biden and Trump
Talks between Fahrenkopf and Dave Bossie, the co-chair of the RNC temp debate committee, have been going on since last year.

The CPD did not immediately respond to a request for comment. But its officials have privately complained that the RNC is conflating how primary and general election debates work and that the party committees have never been who CPD deals with.

If Democrats- or anyone else is upset about this potential move- they have no one to blame bu themselves.  One of the things that President Donald Trump was very successful in achieving was showing the public how partisan and how out of control the establishment is in protecting their friends and their little bubble around the Federal government.

This move can only been seen as a result of how powerful the Trump movement really is still. With the midterms coming, this is just one more indicator that Republican voters are motivated to make some lasting changes from the very top.
