The AAA national average price of gas went to $4.375 as of Tuesday. This is a shocking record high without inflation being taken into account. Another record that should not be bragged about by the Biden administration unless it was the goal. As of this writing, the average price is at $4.404.
Even if you don’t drive a vehicle, the rising cost of gasoline drives up the price of everything you consume. Everything you buy in a store is delivered by truck, train, boat, or plane, some items more than one of those choices, and the cost of fuel rising makes the cost of goods and services rise as well. Welcome to Joe Biden’s America.
When you add skyrocketing gas prices with rising inflation, Americans know their buying power is getting slammed. They’re working just as hard as always, but their money is now bringing in less for them and their families. Add to this the threat of food shortages coming over the horizon. This is really going to hurt Democrats in the coming midterm elections in November.
To add insult to injury, the Biden administration seems to be blaming it all on everyone but itself. First, they blamed the Trump administration, then corporations. Next, they blamed consumers, and now, they are blaming Vladimir Putin for his invasion of Ukraine for why the Biden administration cannot get a handle on inflation, high gas prices, and a supply chain problem. It’s a pathetic attempt to pass the buck and avoid blame for really bad policies. All I can say is this would not be happening if there were not 2000 mules in 2020 that changed the course of history.
Consumer price index data is expected to be released for April on Wednesday by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. That list contains all the things that Americans buy to live their lives. The numbers can be finagled by unscrupulous politicians by doing things like adding cars to the list when automobiles are not something Americans purchase each week. I put nothing past the current regime.
The index rose “8.5 percent for the 12 months ending March,” according to the Bureau last month.
In a speech on Tuesday, President Joe Biden probably lied when he said that his “top domestic priority” is inflation. First, he told us inflation didn’t exist and was a figment of our collective imaginations. Then the administration spread the lie that inflation was transitory, meaning it was a temporary phenomenon even though it was going on for a year. After denying inflation even existed, now the empty suit president is still blaming Putin even though we’ve been feeling the costs of inflation long before the invasion. Biden is also blaming the COVID-19 pandemic.
When Biden barred oil and other imports from Russia in response to its invasion of Ukraine, he set us up for failure here at home. Not only oil but fertilizer that our farmers use to grow crops come from Russia and Ukraine. And I don’t see a lot of other countries stopping their imports of Russian oil and gas, just us. That means there’s really no terrible effect on the Russian economy by Biden’s moves.
Representative Lee Zeldin (R-NY), who is running for governor in New York, took to social media to talk about how the Biden administration has attacked the American people.
“We have the biggest inflation spike in 4 decades, record high gas prices, a massive border crisis, incompetent foreign policy, endless attacks on liberty and personal safety, and now even a baby formula shortage. The Biden presidency has truly been a epic disaster from the start.”

Patrick De Haan, GasBuddy head of petroleum analysis said, “Liquid fuels have turned into liquid gold, with prices for gasoline and diesel spiraling out of control with little power to harness them as the imbalance between supply and demand globally continues to widen with each passing day. Russia’s oil increasingly remains out of the market, crimping supply while demand rebounds ahead of the summer driving season,” adding, “There’s little, if any, good news about fuel prices heading into summer, and the problem could become worse should we see an above average hurricane season, which could knock out refinery capacity at a time we badly need it as refined product inventories continue to plummet.”
Something has to change. The Biden administration is full of incompetents, but not this incompetent. People are worrying that what’s happening to us and our country is by design. Hopefully, if the Republicans take control of Congress after the midterms, they can stop the hemorrhaging of our economy so that Americans can get some semblance of their lives back because neither the Biden administration nor congressional Democrats seem to care.
