Facebook has determined that it’s now okay for its Free-Speech-deprived users to talk about COVID-19 being a man-made virus without being silenced by the 52nd Pajama Basement Brigade. This was a reversal from their old policy, meaning either too much news has come out about it looking more and more like the virus came from the Wuhan lab or the Democrats gave Zuckerberg permission to recall the hounds.
This could be a teachable moment. If it turns out that the people who wanted to use their Free Speech to discuss the COVID-19 virus being hatched in the Wuhan lab were right, think about all the ideas that could have been sprung by such dialogue that may have ended up helping millions of people not catch the virus or die from it. But that never happened because Facebook censored us. They took away our right to Free Speech for political reasons. I would hope that if another pandemic comes along Facebook, the new town square, would allow Americans to talk about it on their platform so that maybe thousands to millions of people might not die if ideas could be woven from information being shared. We’ll have to wait and see.
By the way, does anyone know if we’re allowed to mention the phony Ukraine whistleblower’s name yet? Can we talk about the 2020 election results? Are we now allowed to discuss those things? Asking for a friend.
Isn’t it amazing how the mask mandates for vaccinated people reversed overnight and now this?
On Wednesday, the social media company told Politico that it will no longer censor posts where people discuss that the COVID-19 virus was manufactured. Facebook claims they are doing so as “a move that acknowledges the renewed debate about the virus’ origins.” The only reason the debate had to be renewed is that Facebook and the other tech tyrants silenced us from talking about it in the first place.
Politico said, “Facebook announced in February it had expanded the list of misleading health claims that it would remove from its platforms to include those asserting that ‘COVID-19 is man-made or manufactured.’ The tech giant has updated its policies against false and misleading coronavirus information, including its running list of debunked claims, over the course of the pandemic in consultation with global health officials.”
I suppose this move has the tech tyrants expecting us to be happy about their decision, but the reality is we should be even more critical of Facebook’s fact-checking endeavors when they turn out to be politically motivated. If someone asks a question about a political subject and Facebook along with their fact-checking service are of the opposite political ideology, it is not reasonable to be censored because they disagree politically. This new revelation makes it appear that Facebook was all in with the Democrats in their drive to get rid of President Donald Trump and so anything that made Trump look good had to be silenced. Trump called it the China virus or the Wuhan virus because it came from the Wuhan lab. If Facebook allowed discussions on that topic, information may have been revealed that it did originate from the Wuhan lab, and in their eyes, Trump would have been vindicated and they couldn’t have that. All allegedly, of course.
Former President Donald Trump and a host of others suggested long ago that the virus was leaked from the Wuhan lab and that was dismissed as quickly as any talk about Hydroxychloroquine and both because Trump suggested it. For a time we couldn’t even mention the drug or Facebook would censor us and possibly give us a strike. The fake news media called any talk about the virus originating from Wuhan a “conspiracy theory.” And those dopes will now start to report that it may have come from the Wuhan lab without ever apologizing for labeling people who talked about it previously as conspiracy nuts.
After The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported earlier this week that multiple researchers at the Wuhan lab came down with COVID-19-like symptoms back in November of 2019, the news media and others who fought against the lab-leak theory began changing their tunes.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, who previously rejected any talk about the virus originating from the lab in Wuhan, did a complete 180-degree turnaround calling for an investigation into the origins of COVID and admitting he is “not convinced” that the disease emerged naturally, even though up until now he said it wasn’t true. That man changes his position more often than people change their socks.
Joe Biden shut down a State Department probe that was started under the Trump administration to find out the origin of the COVID-19 pandemic. After the WSJ piece came out Biden issued a statement asking the intelligence community to “redouble their efforts to collect and analyze information that could bring us closer to a definitive conclusion” between two theories: “whether it emerged from human contact with an infected animal or from a laboratory accident.”
That would be the same intelligence community that spied on the Trump campaign, the President-Elect and then President Donald Trump. What could go wrong?
