Nunes, who is the Ranking Member on the House Intelligence Committee (and former Chairman), will be leaving Congress in January 2022.
Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., will resign from Congress to become chief executive officer of former President Donald Trump’s fledgling social media company next month, the group said Monday.
Nunes, the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, will start as CEO of Trump Media & Technology Group, or TMTG, in January.
How could the social media company be fledgling if it hasn’t started yet? The media hacks are still attacking Trump with lies and he’s been out of office all year.
Representative Nunes wrote a letter to his constituents:
It has been my privilege to serve the people of California’s San Joaquin Valley for nineteen years in the U.S. House of Representatives. During this time, I fought hard in Washington for the interests and values of Valley families and to help my constituents resolve any problems they have with a federal agency.
Recently, I was presented with a new opportunity to fight for the most important issues I believe in. I’m writing to let you know I’ve decided to pursue this opportunity, and therefore I will be leaving the House of Representatives at the end of 2021.
I will deeply miss being your congressman. It’s been the honor of a lifetime to represent you, and I thank you for the trust you put in me through all these years. It’s also been my privilege, as Chairman and then Ranking Member of the House Intelligence Committee, to meet with members of our armed services and our intelligence agencies around the world – I am awed by the sacrifices these patriots make in service to their nation.
Rest assured, I have not, by any means, given up our collective fight – I’ll just be pursuing it through other means.
Member of Congress
Devin Nunes was a steadfast Trump supporter. His investigations into the FISA warrant fiasco by the FBI is what broke open the scandal of the Obama administration spying on the Trump campaign during the 2016 election in order to frame him for Russian collusion which we all now know was started by Trump opponent Hillary Clinton in an effort to get her illegal private email server scandal off the front pages of the news.
Nunes released a FISA member in 2018 detailing how the FISA Court had been misled by former FBI Director James Comey, former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, and former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe.
Nunes sent a dozen criminal referrals to the Department of Justice concerning leaks of “highly classified material” and conspiracies to lie to Congress and the FISA court.
Nunes also wrote a book released in September 2020 called “Countdown to Socialism,” which now seems like a warning sign after what happened during the 2020 election and the Biden administration took over.
