Deputies Ambushed answering call to protect community. 1 shot in the head.

Earlier today we received a heart-wrenching email from mother saying her son, who is a police officer and her son were ambushed while responding to a call. With her permission here is a part of her email.

“Yesterday my son and his partner were ambushed while responding to a plea for assistance at the Paso Robles Police Station.
After shooting at the station, the gunman was hiding, lying in wait, and began shooting on all those who responded.
After exiting the cruiser to search for the suspect, my son’s vehicle was hit repeatedly, then his partner was hit in the head.  His partner fell to the ground.  My son’s concern was for his partner’s life.  He tried to coax him to cover, but when his partner moved the gunman continued with gunfire.  The Terrorist attacking them was hidden.  My son fired shots in the direction of the terrorist’s gunfire to deter him long enough for his partner to escape the gunfire with his life.  Please pray for my son’s partner, Nick Dreyfus, he was airlifted to a hospital in San Francisco, because our local hospital could not remove the bullet.
Will, I tell you this so you know that the assault on our Peace Officers is very real and very personal.
The anti-police rhetoric of BLM, ANTIFA and Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is extremely dangerous.  We are a community with a wonderful Peace Officer presence.  My biracial son is an amazing, fair and respectful young man.  This is an evil attack that has come from outside our community.
Please pray for America’s Peace Officers in this time of attack from Lucifer. “
This story is barely reporting the incident. We found one short article on it.

PASO ROBLES, Calif. – The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Deputy who was shot and seriously injured in Paso Robles Wednesday said he was willing to put his life on the line to protect his community.

Nicholas Dreyfus was shot when responding to an active shooter situation in Paso Robles. The suspected shooter remains wanted by law enforcement.

Earlier this month, Dreyfus wrote about his experience in law enforcement and how he felt drawn to protect his community.

The post was in response to protests that are taking place nationwide regarding police brutality and social injustice.

Dreyfus defended his profession and said he felt discouraged in recent days due to blanket statements regarding police officers. It is important to note that there is no indication that this shooting is at all connected to recent protests.

The post has been shared hundreds of times and has now been filled with words of well wishes and appreciation.

Please pray for all our police officers.
