Chris Wallace announced that he was leaving Fox News. Fox News fans tried to hide their anguish by high-fiving each other. Wallace will be leaving Fox to take his rightful place on CNN. The good thing for Wallace is that he can still bash Trump daily, but he won’t have to pretend to be objective. The good news for Trump is that he will only be bashed to several dozen people now.
Wallace announced that he would be leaving immediately, despite the fact that so many asked if he could make it sooner. Wallace said:
“After 18 years, this is my final ‘Fox News Sunday.’ It is the last time — and I say this with real sadness — we will meet like this.”
“Eighteen years ago, the bosses here at Fox promised me they would never interfere with a guest I booked or a question I asked. And they kept that promise. I have been free to report to the best of my ability, to cover the stories I think are important, to hold our country’s leaders to account. It’s been a great ride.”
“We’ve covered five presidential elections, interviewed every president since George H.W. Bush, travelled the world — sitting down with France’s Emanuel Macron and Russia’s Vladimir Putin. And I’ve gotten to spend Sunday mornings with you. It may sound corny, but I feel we’ve built a community here. There’s a lot you can do on Sundays. The fact you’ve chosen to spend this hour with us is something I cherish.”

Wallace did not say why he is making this move, but he did say that he wanted to do more than just politics. Look for Fox news to move up in the ratings and for CNN to take another dive. He says he is ready for a new adventure. What is he planning on doing? Doing more PR for Jen Psaki? Prior to working for Fox, Wallace had worked in obscurity at NBC and ABC.
Fox News has announced that several anchors will work the Sunday program until they decide on a permanent host. Faux conservative Jonah Goldberg said that he did not believe that Wallace had considered leaving a month ago. Goldberg himself quit a month ago from Fox because he was offended by Tucker Carlson, who actually had people tuning in to him.
