If you’ve been paying attention to Joe Biden’s choices for Cabinet positions, it looks like his Climate Change ideology is a litmus test for getting on the team. The Cheater-in-Chief has raised Climate Change to the level of a cult.
He named John “Lurch” Kerry a climate czar. If Representative Deb Haaland (D-NM) who was named to head up the Department of the Interior, gets confirmed, she will be the first Native American Cabinet member in history. Remember, qualifications don’t matter as much to liberals in power as do getting a “first.” That’s what liberal diversity gets us, people who are diverse in race, but not in thinking because they’re all leftists who have drank the Kool-Aid, or should I call it the Kook-Aid?
Another first for Biden would be if Michael Regan gets confirmed as the first black head of the Environmental Protection Agency.
Joe Biden has made it abundantly apparent that he is all in on using the federal government to shove whacko environmental policies down American throats, and after what the country was just put through via COVID, you can believe he will do it whether it is needed or not. I say that because many environmentalists believe our environment is already doing well thanks to technology brought on by capitalism, something the current crop of election thieves disdain.
Biden will rule as a dictator right up until the time he declares he has to leave and lets the true progressive nightmare, Kamala Harris, take over.
Here’s some questions for all the climate tyrants out there who believe that government has the power to actually change the climate, which even a first grader understands it doesn’t, why hasn’t the government been able to stop natural disasters like hurricanes, tsunamis and rains that cause flooding? How come if the television news meteorologists can’t accurately predict the weather 72 hours out, we are supposed to believe that the “science” is there to predict we are all going to die in less than twelve years if we don’t allow the politicians to spend more of our money on ridiculous climate policies?
State governments (and federal CDC and some other departments) have already tried to condition Americans into believing they have the power to lock them down, to shut down their businesses, and force people out of work. Again, they do not, but we no longer live in a society where law and order applies to elected leaders who are Democrats as we have seen where Democrat governors and mayors have disregarded their own lockdown orders, leading to the people they are supposed to represent to believe the leaders themselves do not believe in the policies they are employing on them.
Democrats at every level have shown they have zero regard for the working class families and the small businesses they have destroyed by using COVID-19 to justify a dictatorship mentality. Democrats have eroded our freedoms and liberties long enough, and the people are starting to revolt. You can’t lock people down for a year and then tell them the lockdown policies have to continue even longer before people start to take matters into their own hands.
So, after experiencing the lockdowns and forcing people to wear masks, even though the top epidemiologists in the world have said that lockdowns and masks do not work to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus, does anyone really believe that the American people will stand for a Biden administration forcing all kinds of stupid Climate Change regulations onto them in the name of saving our planet?
I have always referred to the global warming nuts as watermelons, because they are green on the outside and socialist red on the inside. They have always used the platform of saving the planet to justify spending more and more of our tax dollars, which is what it’s really all about: power and control.
And during 2020, the armpit of calendar years, we have learned that everyone in the Left’s camp has worked in unison to deprive the rest of us of our Constitutional rights. We have Democrat politicians enforcing rules they make up out of thin air with no resemblance of how a republic works. Most of the COVID mitigation rules across the country have not come from the due diligence of state legislatures, but out of unconstitutional mandates made by governors and mayors who claim they care about your health enough to force you into compliance with their orders.
We’ve also learned of the limits the mainstream now mostly Fake News industry will go to promote the lies of the Left and to censor truth. CNN and MSNBC tell whoppers day in an day out, and the New York Times and Washington Post are best suited at the bottom of a dirty birdcage. Meet the Press’s Chuck Todd said he would not allow any guests on his show who did not drink the Climate Change Kook-Aid. That’s total censorship by a major news network. The press has a Constitutional protection from government censoring the news that is an important part of keeping our country free, and yet we watch them spit on their role and obligation to allow news from all sides to be heard.
We watched as elected Democrat whose main priority is to protect the people they serve allow riots and looting to happen all across the country causing mayhem, destruction, and even death. Not only did we see Democrat leaders allow the riots to continue, but they actively and very publicly told the Trump administration to not step in to help shut them down.
We saw that the tech giants were willing to actively censor free speech in order to protect Democrats and leftist ideological causes, even though they know full well that everyone knows they were doing it. Everyone knew the story of Hunter Biden’s laptop yet Twitter continued to censor the story, knowing that everyone already knew about it. The tech giants censored any speech their leftist cohorts disagreed with, and they’re still thriving.
We saw public schools care more about the employment of adults than the education of our children. The Democrats didn’t care one iota about the psychological problems lockdowns and virtual learning would cause to our kids. Instead, we saw teachers unions demand more pay for not working.
We’ve also seen that the Courts are thoroughly corrupted. It has become wholly apparent that Democrat judges no long believe in the Constitution as they continually rule against the rule of law. We saw judges at the beginning of the Trump administration make rulings just to screw over the Trump agenda, ruling that were not based on Constitutional principles at all. For example, a federal judge shot down Trump’s travel ban claiming it targeted Muslims when it did not. And even if it did, the United States in the past has done travel bans specifically on Muslims. Barack Obama specifically did a travel ban against Iran and the word Muslim was in the order. In fact, Trump’s travel ban was based on the six countries that the Obama administration declared had the highest propensity for ISIS operatives to infiltrate refugee groups to get into the US and cause damage.
Here’s the problem with rogue judges. The judges realize they don’t have to face any accountability. Leftist judges understand that their rulings will be held until an appeal overturns it, which usually takes upwards to 18 months to hit the Supreme Court. and then, after their ruling is overturned, there is no blowback on the judge who knowingly ruled against the rule of law for ideological purposes. And we just witnessed the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court refuse to hear a case on election fraud because he feared riots.
That’s the world in which we now live. Do the powers of darkness really expect us to believe that America just voted for even more of this? Does anyone believe the Democrats, after living through 2020, will be less likely to attempt to get away with murder?
World leaders from the political, business, and scientific fields are coming together to “improve society” and collectively lead us into a better, “re-imagined” world post-COVID. Though well-intentioned, such efforts are a fatal threat to freedom, and it will be up to brave individuals to stand against those efforts.
During a video conference in September with the United Nations, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that the COVID-19 pandemic “has provided an opportunity for a reset.”
“This is our chance to accelerate our pre-pandemic efforts to reimagine economic systems that could actually address global challenges like extreme poverty, inequality, and climate change,” Trudeau said.
Last week, Trudeau was questioned about his “reset” comments after conservative politicians in Canada raised alarms and pushed back against Trudeau’s globalist-sounding agenda.
He waved off the concerns as “conspiracy”.
“I think we’re seeing a lot of people fall prey to disinformation,” he said on Friday. “If Conservative MPs want to start talking about conspiracy theories, well that’s their choice. I’m going to stay focused on helping Canadians get through this…and making sure that the world we leave to our kids is even better than the world we inherited from our parents.”
Trudeau’s “reset” language, however, is taken straight from the World Economic Forum. It is not conspiracy to point to a real movement that is being advocated by our highest governmental leaders.
The World Economic Forum, established in 1971 with headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, launched “The Great Reset” initiative this year, aiming to:
“…offer insights to help inform all those determining the future state of global relations, the direction of national economies, the priorities of societies, the nature of business models and the management of a global commons.”
WEF’s partners include financial elites such as Apple, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Walmart, Google, and Facebook.
“We need to evolve our economic model,” announced the Prince of Wales in one WEF video, “putting people and planet at the heart of global value creation.”
This is exactly the kind of governance that voters rejected when, in 2016, the United Kingdom approved Brexit and America handed the presidency to Donald Trump.
It is globalism we despise and fear – the idea of bureaucrats at the highest levels of society deciding how we should live our lives.
“It’s for the greater good,” they reassure us.
But C.S. Lewis had it right when he wrote,
“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies.”
C.S. Lewis, “God In The Dock”
What our current world leaders don’t understand is this: They were elected and appointed to their offices for the sole purpose of protecting our God-given freedoms.
Societal improvement is up to us, working at the smallest, most local levels to improve the lives of our families, our neighbors, and our communities. That is our duty and our right.
Doorways to great injustices are opened when freedoms are trampled by political and financial elites who claim they know what is best not only for us, but for the entire world.
That is a clear and present danger that we must stand against, in whatever small ways we can.
The election is still far from over, but presidential candidate Joe Biden is actively piecing together a cabinet in preparations for the event that he is declared victor over incumbent President Donald Trump.
The New York Times reported on Wednesday that environmentalist activists are advocating to Biden that Washington State governor Jay Inslee should be appointed Energy Secretary.
Inslee is also being considered for Interior Secretary and the Environmental Protection Agency.
Inslee has been an outspoken proponent of climate change policies, and made climate change his key issue in his own bid for president in 2019. During his campaign, he announced his 100% Clean Energy Plan, a 10-year action plan to address climate change.
“We as Americans face a choice. Do we rise to the challenge of defeating climate change? Or do we shrink from this existential crisis and let our kids and grandkids suffer,” Inslee told CNN in the beginnings of his presidential campaign. “In this campaign, I will put forward plans that will defeat climate change, create millions of jobs, and build a just transition to an economy run on clean energy.”
Nationally-enacted, Inslee’s plan would have tackled clean energy standards in America’s electricity, vehicles, and new buildings.
Inslee was just recently re-elected as governor of Washington. If he were to accept a position in Biden’s cabinet, Washington state would need to elect a new governor.
According to Inslee’s spokesperson, Tara Lee, neither the governor nor his staff have any information on a potential cabinet position. Lee told the media that Inslee is “taking a few pre-planned vacation days off.”
This isn’t the first time Inslee’s name has come up in discussions about a position in a Biden administration.
In July, progressive groups were floating Inslee’s name for the U.S. Department of Interior.
However, Inslee has in months previous dismissed the idea of accepting a cabinet position. In September, he told Axios that he wasn’t in any talks with the Biden campaign about any cabinet positions.
“There is more work to do in my state,” he told Axios, “and I’m intent on getting that done.”
When Axios pressed him further on the matter, and asked him if he would take an EPA post, Inslee said, “No, I’m running for governor. I love the state of Washington.”
Ernest Moniz and Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall, both of whom had positions in the Obama administrations, are also Energy Secretary considerations.
Emily Pinckney, a marine biologist and environmental justice activist in the Puget Sound, taught an “Environmental and Social Justice” course to high school juniors and seniors last spring at several Tacoma specialty schools.
Those schools included the Science and Math Institute (SAMI), the School of the Arts (SOTA), and the School of Industrial Design Engineering and Art (IDEA).
“I specifically am working on the New Green Deal with Washington state,” Pinckney told her students. “So especially for young folks who want the opportunity to work on some policy during this time, please email me.”
“It’ll be really fun and exciting,” she continued. “There’s a lot of people who are going to be running for Washington state Senate who support the New Green Deal that’ll be looking for interns. Whether that’s people to help with the community outreach side or whether that’s people to help with these campaigns.”
Pinckney is known as a “New Green Deal activist” in the community, and has been campaigning for Washington state Senate candidate T’wina Nobles, a progressive focused on environmental justice.
Pinckney was brought on as an adjunct professor but, according to Rantz, “It’s not even clear if Pinckney has training in teaching high school classes.” Rather, she is known in the area for her environmental and political work.
The Tacoma School District, however, defended Pinckney in a statement to the Jason Rantz Show:
“This is an environmental justice class, remember. The instructor mentioned opportunities for students to extend their learning – if they choose.”
Pinckney used her course as an opportunity to push other progressive agendas outside of the environment as well. In one presentation, she addressed the “environmental injustices and human rights violations” at the Northwest Detention Center.
She spoke of ICE’s targeting of minority communities and people of color and how their detention in the Puget Sound is an “environmental injustice” because the land is prone to earthquakes and tsunamis. (The last significant earthquake to hit the region was the 2001 Nisqually Quake. Since then, seismic activity has been relatively quiet).
Pinckney spoke of the structural, systemic, and systematic “forms of oppression” used by ICE in targeting specific populations and asked her students about alternatives during COVID-19 to extended detention: “Is there a safe alternative to court hearings? Another suggestion has been, should ICE just let people go during this time?”
She referred her students to a Time Magazine article advocating for flexible bonds and early release to mitigate the spread of COVID.
During early response to COVID in the spring, Washington State Governor Jay Inslee commuted the sentences of 1,000 prisoners who had committed non-violent, non-sexual crimes to reduce the number of inmates in facilities. There have been community calls for more releases to be made.
Pinckney did not respond to a request for a statement from the Jason Rantz Show.
The course was a one-time offer and the Tacoma School District does not have any current plans to bring Pinckney back to teach another course.
Staff members of Lake Charles Memorial Hospital remained at their posts in order to care for 19 babies in the NICU, despite a mandatory evacuation order as Hurricane Laura approached Louisiana on Thursday.
Dr. Juan Bossano, 14 nurses, 2 neonatal nurse practitioners, and 3 respiratory therapists tended to the babies through the night as Hurricane Laura made landfall. Lake Charles was one of the cities heaviest hit by the category 4 storm.
“It’s important to know the dedication of all the nurses and the respiratory therapists to keep taking care of the babies when they don’t even know the condition of their homes,” Bossano told CNN. “In a small town like this, people have to pull together. I’m proud of them.”
Hurricane Laura had intensified from a category 1 storm on Tuesday to a category 4 storm by Wednesday, spurning officials to declare a mandatory evacuation order.
As citizens evacuated the area that day, ahead of Laura’s landfall, the staff at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital were busy transporting all nineteen infants from one hospital location to another due to threats of flooding. Infants, ventilators, and all other equipment necessary for the well-being of the patients, were carried across the city within two hours – a record time, according to Matt Felder, the director of communications for Lake Charles Memorial Health System.
Vice President and Administrator for Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for Women Alesha Alford praised the staff’s transportation efforts. “We had 19 NICU babies with four on ventilators, some of them very sick, and we were out in 2 hours. I have never seen something work so quick and so smooth for something that was unexpected.”
Laura made landfall at 1 AM that Thursday morning. It traveled northward with wind gusts of 120-135 miles per hour through Lake Charles, causing major damage in the downtown area and even starting a chemical fire at an industrial plant.
It’s being called one of the most powerful hurricanes to hit Louisiana in U.S. history.
“It was scary for everyone,” Alford said of the harrowing night. “When the winds got so bad, we had to move our patients into the hallways. Staff were sleeping in the hallways with patients.”
Staff took shifts between sleeping and caring for the infants, some of whom were sick or on ventilators. Some of the smallest babies only weighed one or two pounds. Some had been born as early as 23 weeks.
Laura knocked out the air conditioning and the water service in the hospital. Despite all threats, the staff and the infants survived through the night. The babies are now being transported to other hospitals in the state for care while Lake Charles recovers from the storm.
“It’s a bright spot in this horrific tragedy our community is facing,” said Felder.
President Trump is currently visiting the state to survey the damage. At least 16 people have died in Louisiana and Texas due to the storm.
Renowned author, environmentalist, and climate activist Michael Shellenberger has formally apologized to the public in Forbes for the “climate scare” he says climate alarmists have forced on the public over the last 30 years.
I guess Forbes news doesn’t want America to know that the urgency of climate change isn’t as alarming as the Democratic Party and Progressives have been screaming because they removed his article.
According to Shellenberger, “Climate change is happening. It’s just not the end of the world.”
From Epoch Times
An environmental advocate for 30 years and a climate activist for 20, Shellenberger has previously been invited to provide testimony on climate issues to Congress (pdf), and says he has served as an expert reviewer of an assessment report from the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). However, he now says he feels obliged to apologize “for how badly we environmentalists have misled the public.”
“Climate change is happening. It’s just not the end of the world. It’s not even our most serious environmental problem. I may seem like a strange person to say this. I’ve been a climate activist for 20 years & an environmentalist for 30” – @ShellenbergerMDhttps://t.co/9knkM6K6AP
Shellenberger made his apology on the Forbes website on June 28, though the article is no longer available. In a statement emailed to The Epoch Times, the company wrote that “Forbes requires its contributors to adhere to strict editorial guidelines. This story did not follow those guidelines, and was removed.
However, Shellenberger’s apology was subsequently published on June 30 by online magazine Quillette, which says it aims to provide a platform for “the free exchange of ideas.” The article can be seen here.
“I am as guilty of alarmism as any other environmentalist,” Shellenberger writes in his article. “For years, I referred to climate change as an ‘existential’ threat to human civilization, and called it a ‘crisis.’” However, Shellenberger now says climate change is “not even our most serious environmental problem.”
What’s Actually Happening to Our Climate?
According to Shellenberger, “Climate change is happening. It’s just not the end of the world.” For that matter, human activity is not causing mass extinction, and neither is climate change making natural disasters worse, he says.
Shellenberger claims that contrary to the assertions of “the climate disinformation campaign,” wildfires have been declining worldwide for the past 17 years, and that the actual cause of forest fires in California and Australia is the buildup of wood fuel in forests. He says that just as in the United States, carbon emissions are declining in most wealthy nations, and that France, Germany, and the UK have watched their emissions fall since the 1970s.
Moreover, the most critical factor for human survival on earth—producing enough food to feed mankind as the population continues to grow—will get easier as temperatures slowly rise. The biggest threat to the wide variety of animal species on earth is habitat loss and hunting, he says.
Shellenberger says that these assertions come from the best scientific studies available, including studies accepted by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the IPCC, among others.
The author says he felt compelled to write a book when he felt climate alarmism had gone too far. He cites Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) statement that “The world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change” and British environmental group Extinction Rebellion’s claim that “Climate Change Kills Children” as motivations.
Shellenberger’s book, “Apocalypse Never: Why Environmental Alarmism Hurts Us All”, makes assertions such as that factories and modern farming methods are key to environmental and human progress, and that 100 percent renewable energy “would require increasing the land used for energy from today’s 0.5 percent to 50 percent.”
The book also claims that vegetarianism reduces an individual’s greenhouse gas emissions “by less than 4 percent.”
