This is big news. The video has been professionally edited and there are some captions to explain what you are seeing. There is also an all-star cast of lawyers, led by a well-known professor from Harvard, Alan Dershowitz. The video shows the police opening the door Upper West Terrace Doors of the United States Capitol. This will cause the judge, if he or she is fair, to drop the forceful entry and other charges. I hope that includes at least a few of the political prisoners in the DC gulag.
But, specifically, it will be used in the upcoming trials of Brady Knowlton and Patrick Montgomery. Both men are facing felony charges for “Obstruction of an Official Proceeding” on January 6th.
Here is the video:
This should exonerate Knowlton and Montgomery and anyone else who entered with the blessing of the police. Or at least it should but we have seen judges in Washington jump through hoops to reach a verdict of guilty. That ruling could be appealed to a higher court. To my way of thinking, if the police opened the doors and allowed protesters, and then arrest him or her is entrapment. I believe the court should throw their cases out immediately.
Dershowitz said:
“This video is very convincing, very persuasive,“In the very least the video shows that a reasonable person could believe that he or she was not being stopped or prevented from going in. At the most it shows that the police were welcoming him in.”
“I think that all Americans should see that videotape. I think it is going to help in the court of public opinion as well.”
