Chicago experienced a violent Father’s Day weekend with 102 people shot and 14 of those lost their lives. Including a 3-year-old boy and teenagers.
The question is, where is Black Lives Matter? If black lives really matter to them shouldn’t they be rallying in Chicago right now asking for justice against their murderers? Where is the outrage?
Black Lives Matter only cares when a black person is killed by a white person. But if you really want to look at who is disproportionately killing black people, it’s actually black people. Statistics prove this time and time again. And yet, the media and race-baiters want you to focus on white cops and cops, in general, being the problem. There may be a few bad cops that need to be held accountable but the main enemy of the black community are blacks.
Let’s look at some statistics. First, here are statistics on people shot to death by police officers from 2017-2020. Looking at the black numbers only, we see in 2017 223 were killed, in 2018- 209, and in 2019- 235.
According to a simple Google search, the black population is 41.4 million. The percentage of blacks being shot to death by police is an extremely low percentage.
In 2016 U.S.News wrote an article on race and homicides in America by race. Most homicides in America occur from the same race. More whites kill whites and more blacks kill blacks as seen here. However, it is important to remember that blacks are only 13% of our population yet their numbers are almost equal to those of white people who make up 76% of the population.
The article reported by U.S.News concluded:
Black people have consistently accounted for close to half the country’s homicide victims, making up more than 50 percent of the broader pool of those killed overall every year since 2010. The number of black victims increased 15 percent in 2015 over 2014.
Of the 13,455 cases from last year (2015) in which the FBI listed a victim’s racial information, 7,039 victims – or 52.3 percent – were black. That compares with 5,854 cases – or 43.5 percent – in which the victim was white, an increase of about 8 percent from last year.
It’s a disparity that becomes more pronounced in the context of population, as 2015 Census estimates suggest that whites account for 77.1 percent of the overall U.S. population of roughly 321 million, while blacks comprise 13.3 percent.
These statistics from the FBI are from 2016. It shows that 2,870 blacks were killed in homicides. 2,570 of them were killed by another black man.
In 2019 Chicago Sun-Times reported 503 homicides. That’s just in one city.
If Black Lives Matter really cares about blacks’ lives they need to look in the mirror first. Their culture is destroying their race, families, and communities. The message seems to be, although probably not intentionally, don’t you kill us because we want to do that all by ourselves.
