Joe Brandon is not ever right on foreign policy, but he is unique. But, maybe not as unique as we might think. In fact, Joe Brandon’s idea of allowing Russia to break the Donetsk Region of Ukraine off from that country and hand it over to Vladimir Putin. In fact, it is anything but unique. In 2014 Barack Obama ceded the Crimea section of Ukraine to Russia.
But, perhaps the best comparison would be to compare Biden to Neville Chamberlain. To avoid war, Chamberlain ceded the Rhine Valley to Adolf Hitler. The Rhine Valley was rich in iron ore and coal. Hitler was able to use those vital elements to wage war on all of Europe by using the natural resources to build the machinery of war. It was vital in their manufacturing of tanks, cannons, and airplanes.
Biden wants to cede Donetsk to Russia. Donetsk although just 4 1/2 % of Ukraine, contains more than one-half of all coal, finished steel, coke, cast iron and steel production in Ukraine. It also has something shared with the Clinton administration. Do you remember his Donetsk, Donetel initiative?
US News reported:
Administration officials have suggested that the U.S. will press Ukraine to formally cede a measure of autonomy within its eastern Donbas region, which is now under de facto control by Russia-backed separatists who rose up against Kyiv in 2014. Decentralization of Ukraine and a “special status” for Donbas were laid out in an ambiguous, European-brokered peace deal in 2015, but it has never taken hold.
Larry Kudlow reported on Thursday that Biden bowed to Putin’s requests. According to Kudlow, the US will press Ukraine to formally cede a measure of autonomy to a region of eastern Ukrainian lands now controlled by Russian-backed separatists. Also, according to the AP, senior State Department officials have told Ukraine NATO membership is unlikely to be approved in the next decade.
You would think that Joe Brandon would at least wait until Russia declared war before surrendering. But, it appears to be a cornerstone of his foreign policy agenda. Much in the same way he announced that if China invaded Taiwan, we would not take any military action. Could he get ay more pathetic?
