We reported this week that Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis wrote an executive order that there will be no mask mandates in any school district and he said that any district that defies the order will have their salaries withheld.
The Biden administration since then interfered in Florida’s affairs by offering federal financial support to Florida school districts that defy the governor’s ban on mask mandates. Of course, the administration is saying that there is a surge in The Sunshine State of coronavirus cases, but the truth is the CDC lied by adding two days into one day’s total to make it appear that the number of cases is skyrocketing when it really isn’t. Yes, cases are rising, but not to the extent the CDC lied about that caused useful idiots like Mika Brzezinski to go make an arse of themselves on live TV.
Let’s be clear here. The federal government interfered in a sovereign state’s affairs for something it has no authority to do, which has to be illegal in some aspect. They are encouraging state employees to break the law. This is Soviet Union style governing by the Biden administration.
In a letter sent on Friday to DeSantis and state Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran written by US Education Secretary Miguel Cardona, said that districts that lose state funding would be given federal funding, according to Politico.
“Florida’s recent actions to block school districts from voluntarily adopting science-based strategies for preventing the spread of COVID-19 that are aligned with the guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) puts students and staff at risk,” Cardona wrote in the letter, adding he was “deeply concerned” by DeSantis’ July 30 anti-mask mandate executive order.
Everyone should be deeply concerned over the federal government overstepping its authority by encouraging Florida state employees to break state law and defy the governor.
DeSantis should now sue the federal government for interfering in state business when they do not have the authority.
It is amazing the number of things that this administration, and many past administrations as well, have done in states where they do not have the authority to do so. It’s like they just laugh at the rules of government, at our Constitution.
Cardona said that if school districts create a mask mandate, they are working in line with CDC guidance, that earlier in the month recommended wearing masks for K-12 schools regardless of whether they got the vaccine or now.
Here’s one of the main problems with our federal government, especially the clowns in charge now. The word “guidance” is defined by Webster’s as “advice or information aimed at resolving a problem or difficulty, especially as given by someone in authority.” The last time I checked, advice is not an order or a mandate. It’s advice which can be taken into consideration but it doesn’t have to be followed. The problem with tyrants in power is that they believe everyone must do exactly what they say no matter how ridiculous and no matter how much data contradicts their political narrative.
“We are eager to partner with [the Florida Department of Education] on any efforts to further our shared goals of protecting the health and safety of students and educators,” he added. “If FLDOE does not wish to pursue such an approach, the Department will continue to work directly with the school districts and educators that serve Florida’s students.”
Miguel Cardona is a lying sack. The science clearly tells us that children wearing masks all day long is dangerous to their physical and mental health and wellbeing, and there are too many studies to ignore that show that wearing a mask DOES NOT STOP the spreading of COVID.
DeSantis spokeswoman Christina Pushaw, ripped the Biden administration for offering more support to “superintendents and elected politicians, who don’t believe that parents have a right to choose what’s best for their children, than on Florida’s students, which is what these funds should be used for,” Politico reported.
DeSantis took the American freedom approach and said that it’s really up to the parents who should decide if their children wear a mask at school or not. Remember, the Democrat tyrants want to lock your kids down at home through another year of virtual learning, and they would have done so if the backlash wasn’t so strong. Governors like DeSantis are fighting back for the rights of their citizens.
With all the mixed messaging coming from so-called “experts,” the best thing to do is to fall back on freedom to live the way you want to live. It’s your birthright as an American.
Biden just days prior to the letter going out publicly said that he doesn’t believe he has the authority to overturn the governor’s actions. And he’s correct.
There are 18 enumerated powers that belong to the federal government inside the US Constitution. There are now 27 amendments to the Constitution, with the first 10 being the original Bill of Rights. If the federal government wants a power that it doesn’t already have, that power firstly belongs to the states. The 10th amendment and Federalist 45 says so. If the federal government wants that power, it has to ask the states if it can take that power for itself in the form of an amendment to the Constitution. The problem with federal tyrants like Biden and his administration is that they forget that’s the way it works.
