ANALYSIS: Only 14% of Stacey Abrams’s Campaign Contributions Comes From Georgia Voters, Mostly CA, NY, and Washington, DC

Stacey Abrams has to rely on ‘outside money’ to fundraise her campaign.

Stacey Abrams (D-GA, the woman who ran for governor in Georgia in 2018, lost the race, but cried foul ever since to justify her loss, has raised nearly $50 million this time around for her 2022 gubernatorial campaign. Only 14% or $7 million of that came from citizens who actually live inside the state, according to Axios’s Lachlan Markay.

Abrams can’t get enough fundraising completed inside the state where she is running for governor, so she is relying on coastal Democrat elites for her campaign money. Typical Democrat behavior. You alienate yourself with the people you want to represent, so you have to get help from people outside.

Close to 50% of the cash she raised, almost $23 million, comes from 3 donors in 3 solid blue states and the nation’s capital. Abrams received $10.2 million from California liberal elites, $2.5 million from Biden’s state of Delaware, $3.6 million from the liberal Mecca, New York, and finally $6.4 million from Washington, DC.

Abrams relying on outside money makes sense, after since she recently had a Hillary moment by describing Georgia as “the worst state in the country to live.” She attacked the very people she wants to govern. It’s very telling that the Democrat elites are supporting a woman for the highest office in Georgia knowing that the people in the state do not like a candidate who makes it known they look down on them.

“I am tired of hearing about being the best state in the country to do business when we are the worst state in the country to live,” Abrams said, and she got applause! How sick are Democrats?

The same analysis found that Abrams’ opponent, Governor Brian Kemp, who beat Abrams in 2018 and is running for reelection, raised a majority of his campaign funds, about 83% or $31.5 million, from in-state donors. So Kemp gets a majority of funding by Georgia voters while the Democrat relies on super donors from elite Democrats in other states.

According to Axios, “If the trend holds, Abrams would be the only Georgia gubernatorial nominee from either party since at least the 1990s to receive a majority of campaign funds from out of state, according to an Axios analysis of campaign finance records.

I remind Georgia voters that Stacey Abrams is someone who lost her last race in 2018 to Kemp, but declared herself the winner and, like Hillary, blamed everyone and everything for her defeat while avoiding a mirror. She may have even blamed humidity. She is not a stable person. She ran around, referring to herself as the real governor. She’s a progressive running in Georgia and she is expected to lose to Kemp again in November, hence the need for outside money to win a state she hates living in.
