Always On the Cutting Edge, Brian Stelter Reports on CNN’s Legal Mess: ‘Everybody is lawyer-ed up’

On Sunday, CNN‘s Brian Stelter, host of “Reliable Sources,” the most misnamed cable news show in the industry, said that the recent resignations of Jeff Zucker and Allison Gollust, the former Executive VP and Chief Marketing Officer for CNN, was a “legal mess for CNN,” Fox News reported.

Next time, Stelter should report when the Vatican elects a Catholic as Pope.

Stelter said, “I was told by a source that Zucker can’t comment further on the substance of why he left, why he did and what happened.”

Who cares?

The CNN coffee boy added, “Everybody is lawyer-ed up, Chris Cuomo might sue, Cuomo’s lawyer apparently wants tens of millions of dollars out of this network, so this is now a legal mess for CNN.”

In the first week of February, Zucker shocked his CNN colleagues by announcing he was resigning immediately as the fake news network’s president. He sent a companywide memo saying he was leaving, and that he was not forthcoming about a romantic relationship he had with a fellow CNN executive, Allison Gollust, during an investigation into fired and disgraced host Chris Cuomo’s misconduct for allegedly helping his brother the disgraced former governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, with his sexual misconduct problems where he was sexually harassing women who worked for him.

Anyone with a triple-digit IQ believes that the inappropriate relationship is not the reason, but everyone at CNN is hush-hush about it.

In his memo, Zucker said, “As part of the investigation into Chris Cuomo’s tenure at CNN, I was asked about a consensual relationship with my closest colleague, someone I have worked with for more than 20 years. I acknowledged the relationship evolved in recent years. I was required to disclose it when it began, but I didn’t. I was wrong,” and “As a result, I am resigning today.”

Gollust said in response, “Jeff and I have been close friends and professional partners for over 20 years. Recently, our relationship changed during Covid. I regret that we didn’t disclose it at the right time. I’m incredibly proud of my time at CNN and look forward to continuing the great work we do every day.”

Incredibly proud of a time where the network lost 90% of its viewership in one year? She really has a low bar.

WarnerMedia released a statement to respond to Zucker and Gollust’s resignations that said, “Based on interviews of more than 40 individuals and a review of over 100,000 texts and emails, the investigation found violations of Company policies, including CNN’s News Standards and Practices, by Jeff Zucker, Allison Gollust, and Chris Cuomo.”

It has now come out that Gollust was helping Andrew Cuomo with his legal problems as well.

All of this nonsense going on at the network, the executive resignations, host firings, arrests of producers are some of the reasons why Stelter said it all is “a legal mess for CNN.”
