Major League Baseball’s (MLB) All-Star Game was one of those rare events where many streets would be empty during the game because everyone was inside watching. More than 36 million people watched the All-Star game in 1980.
The game that was moved by the woke officials of the MLB out of Atlanta, for no reason attributed to the city, aired this Tuesday and as expected the ratings were abysmal according to Nielsen. Only 8.24 million people watched, making it the second lowest viewed All-Star game in history, sending a message that American sports fans don’t like politics mixed with their sports. Do you think they learned a lesson?
Think about how shocking this is when you consider the game was billed as having one of the best lineups in years, including LA Angels’ Shohei Ohtani, nicknamed “Shotime,” the pitcher, designated hitter, and outfielder. Shotime was the first player to be the starting pitcher and bat lead-off in the history of the game, and the first two-way starter since 1933.
Just Shotime alone should have brought in ratings over the 10 million viewer threshold, but it was a swing and a miss.
And, yawn. America wasn’t interested. What a shame. It’s all because the MLB got swindled into pulling the game from Atlanta and sending it to Colorado over the Georgia legislature passing an election integrity bill that protected everyone’s right to vote but was bastardized by the lying Democrats who called it racist and Jim Crow 2.0 once they realized it would curb their ability to cheat in future elections.
The sad truth is Colorado has even more strict voting laws than Georgia even after the new election integrity laws recently passed.
The estimated loss of revenues from small businesses in the Atlanta area are over $100 million and many of those small businesses are black owned.
President House Plant Biden even chimed in saying the state’s new election law ends voting hours too early so that working people (read black) can’t vote.
“What I’m worried about is how un-American this whole initiative is. It’s sick. It’s sick … deciding that you’re going to end voting at five o’clock when working people are just getting off work,” Biden said during a press conference on March 25. No one in the few press who attended his first press conference questioned his language.
“Among the outrageous parts of this new state law, it ends voting hours early so working people can’t cast their vote after their shift is over,” Biden also said in a statement on March 26.
Well, Biden lied, and he got four Pinocchios by the Washington Post fact-checker. He simply made it up.
Biden’s lies aside, the MLB freaked out and made the decision to pack it all up and run like hell to Colorado. The wokety-woke-wokes won that round, screwing over thousands of businesses in Georgia with their decision and those businesses were already doing poorly thanks to the Democrats in Atlantic enforcing coronavirus lockdowns. They were looking forward to the game to make some money back for their losses in 2020. Wokism is never a good idea.
And it was reported that Stacey Abrams, the lunatic who still thinks she’s the governor of Georgia, was involved in pressuring the MLB to trash the Atlanta game. Working alongside her was loudmouth LeBron James and Al not so Sharpton.
Wokism is killing all sports that take it up. The NFL found out that Americans don’t like spoiled multi-millionaires kneeling for the American anthem and disrespecting our flag. The NBA finals right now aren’t even getting 10 million viewers. The reason why is that the NBA got involved with Black Lives Matter as they started boycotting their own games. Can you believe that? They argued that people should not watch the games that they were being paid to play in. Girls’ sports are being destroyed by boys being allowed to compete if they say they feel like a girl all because many schools went woke.
People watch sports to escape from politics and when you add politics into sports, they are no longer worth watching. That’s a lesson the front offices of major sports franchises should have learned a long time ago.
