Something interesting is happening in politics, and the indicators are everywhere that President Donald J. Trump’sAmerica First’ policies are still holding court in Washington DC, even though Democrat Joe Biden occupies the White House and Democrats hold the US House and the US Senate. For research, look no further than the troublesome RINOS who are not seeking re-election.
“Quiet Never Trumpers who have left: Lamar Alexander Quiet Never Trumpers who are leaving: Rob Portman, Roy Blunt, Richard Burr, Pat Toomey. Quiet Never Trumpers hoping to survive: Bill Cassidy, Mitch McConnell, John Thune. The GOP turning against Trump was a bad idea,” reported Emily Robinson, a White House correspondent.
“Sen. Roy Blunt (Mo.), a member of GOP leadership, announced on Monday that he wouldn’t run for reelection in 2022 — marking the latest high-profile retirement for Senate Republicans.
“After 14 general election victories — three to county office, seven to the United States House of Representatives, and four statewide elections — I won’t be a candidate for reelection to the United States Senate next year,” Blunt said in a video.
Blunt, 71, said that he would finish out his current term, which runs through 2022. Blunt was first elected to the Senate in 2010 and previously served 14 years in the House, where he was also a member of GOP leadership,” Jordain Carney Reported, in his article, for The Hill, Roy Blunt won’t run for Senate seat in 2022.
The left feels that it is their unlimited power that has scared the Republicans off.
However, would the left have to cheat at elections if they were really that powerful and popular?
Here is Blunt, after years of hammering the working class, trying to look like a Populist to save face:
EVERYONE WANTS TO LOOK LIKE A WORKER NOW
So, think again about why Blunt and others would leave their cushy jobs now. Consider the overwhelming continuous popularity of Trump, which, no matter how hard the GOP tried, they could not persuade Americans to stop supporting him, and they could not demonize voters enough to drop out of politics. This latest defection from DC, by blunt, on the heels of other left-leaning Republicans like Richard Burr of North Carolina, is not because of the Democrats. It is not because their districts have all of a sudden turned progressive-liberal- Democrat.
The Populist movement had a taste of victory, was exposed to the corruption, and had been directed on how to fight back, and they want Trump back, or at least his populist policies.
One political watcher posted in response to the news, “Just In: Missouri GOP Sen. Roy Blunt announces he will NOT run for re-election in 2022. This makes 4, with Burr, Toomey, and Portman. All 4 of these guys are of GOP’s earlier style – partisan, but not hyper-partisan; conservatives, not clowns. No surprise they’ve had enough.”
That is pretty typical for the left, who is nothing but hyperpartisan.
The RINO movement of going soft in the face of massive leftist power grabs is thankfully coming to an end, and it is the American people who have had enough of watching the transformation of the country happening while the RINO right appeared to be taking bribes to let it all happen, all while giving lip service that they were really upset by it.
2022 is the new 2020. Americans need to stay engaged and get engaged. Run for every office possible, including GOP party office, and get ready to volunteer for some “America First” candidates because obviously, Trump can not do all of the heavy lifting by himself.
Senator Bernie Sanders’s (I-VT) proposal to mandate raising the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour was given a pink slip when eight, count em, eight Democrat senators joined the Republicans to reject the measure for whatever reasons I don’t care just so long as it failed.
The eight senators that the Woke Supremacists are now poking needles into their voodoo dolls are Senators Tom Carper (D-DE), Chris Coons (D-DE), Maggie Hassan (D-NH), Joe Manchin (D-WV), Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), Jon Tester (D-MT), and Angus King (I-ME) and Independent who caucuses with Democrats voted against the measure, joining every Republican in the upper chamber.
The vote failed at 42–58. The socialists needed 60 votes to overrule the Senate parliamentarian’s decision that a minimum wage increase can’t be embedded in a broader COVID-19 stimulus bill. The fact that they even tried shows that they don’t give a rat’s behind about the parliamentarian rules in the first place. Most honest people would want to do something and then say, “Oh, it’s against the rules? Well, then okay, I guess that’s that,” but not the socialists. They just want what they want and rules be damned. I’m surprised they haven’t already canceled the parliamentarian. Maybe a group of Woke thugs will show up outside her home at 2 am in the morning banging pots and pans and singing chants with signs saying “Where’s my f’ing money!”
Senator Sinema took to social media to tweet that she supports raising the minimum wage because she knows “what it is like to face tough choices while working to meet your family’s most basic needs.”
“Senators in both parties have shown support for raising the federal minimum wage and the Senate should hold an open debate and amendment process on raising the minimum wage, separate from the COVID-focused reconciliation bill,” she said.
I can see a primary in her future.
Manchin, who wants people to think he’s a centrist said in an interview with The Hill that he doesn’t support the $15 per hour increase, but that he’s open to raising the minimum wage to something that is “responsible and reasonable.” In West Virginia, his home state, he suggested that it should be $11 per hour when adjusted for inflation.
Personally, I don’t think the minimum wage itself is responsible or reasonable. What right does the federal government have to tell businesses in states how much they must at least pay their workers? On top of that, every single time the minimum wage is increased the little guy gets hurt. That’s right, the workers who are making minimum wage or just slightly above it are the ones who lose their jobs because many small businesses can’t afford the increase.
Here’s the dirty little secret that the DC swamp rats won’t tell you. Every time the Democrats push for a minimum wage increase they tell you they’re doing it because they think the little guy deserves to make a living wage. What they’re really doing is giving paybacks to unions that donate money to get them reelected. The scam goes like this. In many union contracts, the minimum wage is tied in. What I mean is it’s in their union contracts that if the minimum wage goes up say 5% then the already overinflated union-wage must also go up 5%. So, a person currently making $7.25 per hour, the current federal minimum wage would then be increased to $15 an hour, or a 106.8966% increase, which is okay. According to ZipRecruiter, the average union worker when all areas of the country are considered is $20 per hour. That means while the little guy ins gett $15 an hour, the average user worker will now have a salary of over $41. What a scheme!
Some Democrats who have probably never had to run a payroll condemned the eight senators who voted against the minimum wage hike.
“Are you on the side of the working people in America who desperately need a raise? Or are you on the side of the wealthy and the powerful who want to continue exploiting their workers and paying starvation wages?” Bernie Sanders said. He added, “It ain’t more complicated than that.” Actually, it is more complicated than that, but Bernie works at a third-grade level when ciphering numbers.
Democrats have demonstrated that they never cared one iota for the small businesses they would destroy with moves like increasing the minimum wage. Democrats and Socialists are always telling us that they believe that the working man should be able to be paid a living wage. I submit to you that most businesses do pay a living wage. People can live on $7.25 an hour if they didn’t have all the taxes taken out that are confiscated from each paycheck. The current minimum wage would be about $1,100 bucks a month take-home pay if there were no taxes taken out, not bad for an unskilled worker.
That’s another thing. Democrats understand that most people earning minimum wage are usually young people who are just starting out in the labor market and that they raise themselves out of minimum wage within the first six months of employment. Earning minimum wage is just temporary for most people. Some adults work a minimum wage job but it’s usually a second job that they work to supplement their full-time earnings. If you’re raising a family working for years at a minimum wage job then you have more problems than only earning minimum wage.
My Pennsylvania Lt. Governor John Fetterman, an idiot, a Democrat, but then I repeat myself, who is now running for the Senate seat that will be vacant when the RINO Senator Pat Toomey (R-PA) retires in 2022, said that “every single senator who voted against a $15 minimum wage today should be forced to live on $7.25 an hour so that they can demonstrate to all of us how it’s possible.” How about every single executive branch official in the Tom Wolf administration be forced to live without any income for a year the way they did to millions of Pennsylvanians who lost their job because of the forced COVID lockdowns?
Toomey said back in January about a White House proposal, “If the federal government mandates a universal $15 minimum wage, many low-income Americans will lose their current jobs and find fewer job opportunities in the future.”
As Congress fought to get the economic not really stimulus bill passed, the Labor Department on Friday said that US employment surged in February, adding 379,000 jobs, significantly higher than many economists had expected. Thank you, Donald Trump!
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) virtue-signaled that millions of jobs are still lost to the pandemic and people are still struggling to pay their rent, so Washington has to act aggressively, even though it Washington has zero authority Constitutionally to do any of it.
“Sometimes the macro statistics get in the way. The top-end is doing very well … But so many other people are struggling,” he said.
The problem with morons like Schumer is that he wants you to think it’s the top-end wage earner’s fault that the others are struggling when the reality is the government is the bad guy here because the government shut businesses down.
Something happened to the Republican Party after Donald Trump came along. For decades registered Republicans across the country fought to keep the liberal Democrats at bay hoping upon hope that Republican policies would win the day and the American government would start behaving the way the Founding Fathers intended them to behave once again.
But alas, it was not to be, because there are too many fake Republican RINOs – an acronym meaning “Republicans In Name Only” – elected to office who want nothing more than to be loved by the media and the Democrats. John McCain (dead), Mitt Romney, Susan Collins, Jeff Flake (gone), Lisa Murkowski, you know the types, they vote against the party to make it appear that they’re bold and principled by standing up to the mean Republicans and side with the Democrats. The Democrats on the other hand always stick together whether out of fear or they worked like robots for so long they forget that they are supposed to vote for what’s right for the country. I’m not all that concerned about the Democrats. We know what we get with them.
It’s the RINOs we need to worry about. Worse than Democrats, we often rely on their votes to pass fundamental reforms to the system, and I’,m getting sick and tired of having to worry about what a pompous ass like Romney would do when it comes to certain things. Wouldn’t it be much better if we got rid of the RINOs and replaced them with solid conservatives who love the Constitution and would never side with the socialist party on the other side of the aisle?
Former President Donald Trump thinks so as well, and on Sunday he revealed how he plans to target those RINO Republicans who supported his second impeachment.
When the House impeached President Trump back in January, they charged him with “incitement of insurrection,” and ten House Republicans joined the Democrats by supporting their radical effort, including Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY), who is the third highest-ranking Republican in the House.
The trend of stupidity continued in the Senate as a group of Republican RINO Senators joined forces with the lunatic liberals and voted to convict and remove President Trump from office even though he had already left office and even though the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court did not preside because even he knew the whole impeachment sham was a real fustercluck. Fortunately, the Senate did not reach the 67 votes that were needed to set such horrible precedence.
Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Florida on Sunday, Trump shredded his RINO opponents and vowed he is going to actively campaign against them. It’s not a get evenism ploy on Trump’s part. He understands how RINOs bring harm to the cause of liberty, how their selfish actions of “look at me” politics hurt the American people.
“I’m announcing that I will be actively working to elect strong, tough, and smart Republican leaders,” Trump said, and the CPAC crowd started chanting “USA! USA! USA!”
In fact, Trump claimed that RINOs will “destroy the Republican Party and the American worker and will destroy our country itself.”
“Now more than ever is the time for tough, strong, and energetic Republican leaders who have spines of steel. We need strong leadership. We cannot have leaders who show more passion for condemning their fellow Americans than they have ever shown for standing up to Democrats, the media, and the radicals who want to turn America into a socialist country,” Trump said.
“Instead of attacking me and more importantly the voters of our movement, top establishment Republicans in Washington should be spending their energy in opposing Biden, Pelosi, Schumer, and the Democrats,” Trump declared.
And they never do. When was the last time you heard any of them take the initiative to stand up against the Democrats on any one of their goofy and dangerous policy proposals? It just doesn’t happen. They may sometimes vote against Democrat bills, but they remain quiet leading up to the vote. In fact, the only time you really see a RINO get vocal is when they are either trashing Trump, Trump supporters, or the American people who disagree with them.
Trump named some Republican politicians he said he will campaign against.
“The Democrats don’t have grandstanders like Mitt Romney, little Ben Sasse, Richard Burr, Bill Cassidy, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Pat Toomey, and in the House, Tom Rice [of] South Carolina, Adam Kinzinger, Dan Newhouse, Anthony Gonzalez. That’s another beauty. Fred Upton, Jaime Herrera Beutler, Peter Meyer, John Katko, David Valadao. And of course the warmonger, a person that loves seeing our troops fighting, Liz Cheney. How about that? The good news is in her state, she’s been censured, and in her state, her poll numbers have dropped faster than any human being I’ve ever seen. So hopefully they’ll get rid of her with the next election.”
“Get rid of them all,” Trump declared.
I’m sorry, but there is no other way. The Democrats stick together to fight for socialism and it’s high time the Republicans have a party in DC that fights together in full strength to push for liberty, less government, lower taxes. It’s time the GOP stands for America First where working-class families get to live better lives instead of politicians in the DC swamp.
Senator John Thune (R-SD), a coffee boy for Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), said that Republican voters attempting to punish senators who voted to convict former President Donald Trump during the Senate impeachment trial are engaging in “cancel culture.”
Obviously, this man doesn’t have a clue what cancel culture is. Nobody is saying they want them silenced, and no one is saying they don’t think they should never work again. They are simply exercising their Constitutional right to decide who will represent them and their state, and if the majority of Republican voters feel that the seven turncoat GOP Senators who sided with the radical leftist Woke Supremacy mob Democrats to unconstitutionally try a private citizen for something he didn’t do isn’t their top choice then they have the right to let their grievances be heard and there is no better way I can think of to let politicians know they done screwed up than to vote them out of office.
“There was a strong case made,” Thune told the AP about the House impeachment managers’ arguments. “People could come to different conclusions. If we’re going to criticize the media and the left for cancel culture, we can’t be doing that ourselves.”
Not really. The Democrat House impeachment managers lied, they altered documents, and they withheld exculpatory evidence. In fact, legal scholars have said that had they been in a courtroom they not only would have faced disbarment but could have been charged with crimes and faced prison.
The statement from the Senate minority whip is one of the most high-profile comments on the inner turmoil going on among the Senate Republicans since earlier this week when Trump released a scathing personal statement berating McConnel. The former president called McConnell “a dour, sullen, and unsmiling political hack” and said, “if Republican Senators are going to stay with him, they will not win again.”
Thune gave the interview to dumb down the anger among the great unwashed party faithful as a message to move on, while at the same time state and local Republican parties throughout the nation have taken action against GOP senators who sided with the Democrat lunatics to convict Donald Trump.
Senator Pat Toomey (R-PA) faced potential censure in his home state even though he’s said he is not seeking reelection after this term. Many Pennsylvanian Republicans, myself include, wish he would run again just so that we can defeat him in a primary race. Local Republican parties have already moved against Toomey who has been a real disappointment to PA Republicans for some time. For example, Westmoreland County GOP censured Toomey while the Washington County Republican Party censured him as well.
“We did not send him there to vote his conscience. We did not send him there to do the right thing or whatever he said he’s doing,” Washington County GOP Chair Dave Ball told KDKA. “We sent him there to represent us.” Many DC swamp rats forget that they are elected to represent the people who elected them and not their own political ideologies or hatred for a particular president. The facts of the trial as laid out by the Democrats were bogus resembling a Soviet Union-style rigged court.
The North Carolina Republican Party has already censured Senator Richard Burr (RF-NC) who was one of the senators who voted for conviction. Burr’s vote to convict raised a lot of eyebrows by many in the GOP. Burr also said he’s not going to run for reelection.
“The NCGOP agrees with the strong majority of Republicans in both the US House of Representatives and Senate that the Democrat-led attempt to impeach a former President lies outside the United States Constitution,” the state party said in a statement Monday night.
The senators who voted with Democrats to convict Trump have stood by their votes. Burr addressed the censure head-on in a statement.
“It is truly a sad day for North Carolina Republicans,” Burr said. “My party’s leadership has chosen loyalty to one man over the core principles of the Republican Party and the founders of our great nation.”
What a joke. The core principles of the Republican Party are the rule of law, the Constitution, and actually proving someone guilty, none of which was put on display during the trial by the Democrat impeachment managers. For goodness’ sake, the Chief Justice did not preside because he knew the whole thing was a sham. It wasn’t even Constitutional to try a private citizen to be removed from office when he already left office. A majority of clowns voting the trial was Constitutional is no different from a majority of people claiming McDonald’s is gourmet food. (I love McDonald’s by the way.)
Trump said in his statement this week, “… where necessary and appropriate, I will back primary rivals who espouse Making America Great again and our policy of America first.”
On Thursday, Thune argued this point, warning that if Republicans run a lot of candidates closely-aligned with the former president then they may end up sacrificing winnable seats. I know of 74 million American voters who would beg to disagree.
“At the grassroots level, there’s a lot of people who want to see Trump-like candidates,” Thune said. “But I think we’re going to be looking for candidates that are electable.” What a buffoon this man is to say something like that. Bob Dole was not electable. John McCain was not electable. Mitt Romney was not electable. America First Republicans are sick and tired of having RINO candidates forced onto them and it stops now.
I think Thune sealed his own fate when he accused the party faithful of needing candidates “who don’t go off and talk about conspiracies and that sort of thing.” Millions of Trump voters like me watched intently whistleblower after whistleblower and data experts and cyber experts testify that numerous state legislature hearings on massive amounts of election and voter fraud they witnessed and/or discovered. There was no conspiracy theory involved.
Thune a.k.a. “Mitch’s boy” will be one of the first to be targeted for a primary by Trump if he backs his promise to do so, and we know that Donald Trump goes out of his way to keep his promises.
On Monday night, Sean Hannity tore to shreds Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell on his show for the outrageous condemnation of former President Donald Trump after he was acquitted a second time during a rigged and highly unprofessional impeachment mess on Saturday.
McConnell voted to acquit Donald Trump and then proceeded to castigate him over the riot that happened at the Capitol on January 6. A lot of people feel that McConnell was trying to play to both sides of the aisle.
During his speech, McConnell accused Trump of being morally responsible for the riot that broke out and said that the only reason he voted to acquit the president was that it is unconstitutional to try a president who has already left office.
McConnell then doubled down writing on Monday, “There is no question former President Trump bears moral responsibility. His supporters stormed the Capitol because of the unhinged falsehoods he shouted into the world’s largest megaphone.”
How can people like McConnell, who has to have access to a television, not realize that it has already come out that the FBI gave warnings to him and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi days before the January 6 event that they had credible intelligence that there was going to be an attack with violence at the Capitol? How come neither Sgt at Arms for the House nor the Senate accepted help from the National Guard that was offered by President Trump says before January 6 and multiple times? According to former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, the president offered up to 10,000 National Guard troops to protect that Capitol and the entire DC area, and each time his offers were rebuked.
“His behavior during and after the chaos was also unconscionable, from attacking Vice President Mike Pence during the riot to praising the criminals after it ended,” he claimed.
McConnell said he had no ill will against the seven turncoat Republican senators who voted to convict Trump, but 74 million Americans who voted for Trump do.
Can we get something straight? Donald Trump did not incite the riot. There’s just too much evidence showing the contrary, and it’s worthless idiots like McConnell who lend credence to the hateful Democrats who are exploiting what took place at the Capitol on January 6 in order to demoralize Trump supporters. It’s not going to happen, because, despite the efforts of the Trump haters, they know what happened. They know Trump was not the cause of the riot. The FBI also arrested many leftists who were caught plotting and pre-planning the riot days before it happened. How come the Mitch McConnells of the world keep ignoring that?
Hannity ripped on “Republicans who have turned their backs on the former president,” during his show. He called on the carpet “sanctimonious” McConnell and the other seven Republican nitwits in the Senate who joined the Democrats in trying to convict Trump for allegedly inciting the riot on Capitol Hill.
“Where was John Thune (R-SD) and Mitch McConnell fighting against the biggest abuse of power corruption scandal in our history with Operation Crossfire Hurricane?” Hannity asked. And he’s right. There were some Republican heroes who tried to stop the never-ending onslaught against Trump from the minute he became president, guys like Reps. Devin Nunes (R-CA), Jim Jordan (R-OH), Matt Gaetz (R-FL), and Senators Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Ted Cruz (R-TX), but the majority of congressional Republicans let it happen. They did next to nothing to stop the lawlessness of Democrats who went after Trump in the most despicable ways.
“They were missing in action. Where’s the sanctimonious Mitch McConnell, John Thune, demanding that Kamala Harris, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters — when is he going to give a speech on the Senate floor and hold those Democrats accountable for their incitement of insurrection and their insurrection-like language? The time is now coming for new leadership in the U.S. Senate.”
The Senate Republicans who voted to convict Trump that Hannity was talking about are Sens. Richard Burr (NC), Lisa Murkowski (AK), Bill Cassidy (LA), Susan Collins (ME), Mitt Romney (UT), Ben Sasse (NE), and Pat Toomey (PA). Tomey and Burr are retiring and Collins and Sasse just got reelected, but conservative Trump supporters have a long memory. Most of the useful idiots in that group are catching flack back home from their angry constituents.
Three of the Republican senators who voted to convict Trump during the impeachment trial have already been censured by the Republican Party in their states including Richard Burr, Bill Cassidy, and Pat Toomey.
Republican senators who voted to convict former President Donald Trump on Saturday during the Senate impeachment trial where Democrats the president incited an insurrection are already facing a lot of heat in their home states. And for good reason, because Donald Trump did not incite an insurrection. There is no evidence that he did. In fact, to the contrary, there is plenty of evidence that the Democrats were warned days prior to the January 6 riot that there were plans being made to start violence at the Capitol, evidence that shows Trump had nothing to do with it. Yet these RINO Trump-hating cowards who want to be loved by the Democrats and their boot-licking sycophants in the mainstream news media voted to convict an innocent man.
The seven barely Republican senators who joined with all of the Senate Democrats in voting to convict Trump were: Senators Richard Burr (R-NC), Bill Cassidy (R-LA), Susan Collins (R-ME), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Mitt Romney (R-UT), Ben Sasse (R-NE), and Pat Toomey (R-PA). All disgraceful people who either don’t understand the Constitution or are too stupid to follow the evidence, wanting to join the Woke Supremacy instead.
Two of the bunch are retiring but the rest need to be voluntarily retired by being primaried out.
Cassidy on Saturday faced a unanimous vote by the Louisiana Republican Party for censure because of the way he voted.
“Our Constitution and our country is more important than any one person. I voted to convict President Trump because he is guilty,” Cassidy said on Twitter Saturday night.
And now the people of Louisiana are going to vote him out of office because he’s too stupid to represent them. Trump did not incite the riot. The FBI warned two days ahead of the riot that people were planning on social media to cause violence and Nancy Pelosi told her Sgt at Arms to refuse any help. President Trump offered 10,000 National Guard troops multiple times and the sergeant at arms turned him down every time.
Toomey was also criticized by the Pennsylvania GOP Saturday night.
“This post-presidency impeachment proceeding was an unconstitutional theft of time and energy that did absolutely nothing to unify or help the American people,” PAGOP Chairman Lawrence Tabas said in a prepared statement. “I share the disappointment of many of our grassroots leaders and volunteers over Senator Toomey’s vote today. The vote to acquit was the constitutionally correct outcome.”
Toomey revealed back in October that he’s not running for re-election in 2022. He’s my senator and I say good riddance. When Pat Toomey was first elected to the Senate everybody thought he was going to be this staunch conservative Republican. It turns out he’s been nothing more than an establishment RINO who wants to be loved by the Left as much as the other establishment RINOs and too stupid to learn that though they used him from time to time when he went against the GOP, they despise him as much as the rest of us.
Burr’s vote to convict came as a surprise by many in the GOP. The North Carolina senator also said he’s not going to run for re-election in 2022.
In a statement, NCGOP Chairman Michael Whatley said, “North Carolina Republicans sent Senator Burr to the United States Senate to uphold the Constitution and his vote today to convict in a trial that he declared unconstitutional is shocking and disappointing.”
This isn’t the first time Ben Sasse faced criticisms from Nebraska Republicans over his criticisms of Donald Trump. At least three counties of Republicans in the state have voted to censure Sasse, according to the Omaha World-Herald. Next month when the Republican central committee meets they plan to consider at least eight different resolutions to censure the senator.
“You are welcome to censure me again,” Sasse said earlier this month in a video, “but let’s be clear about why this is happening. It’s because I still believe, as you used to, that politics isn’t about the weird worship of one dude.” I would say to Sasse that politics is about the art of the possible while adhering to the Constitution and not the weird hatred for one dude. What an idiot.
Democrats are masters at lying and scheming and projecting and manipulating facts but their downfall is they’re so impulsive that they usually screw themselves more than their intended targets. Think filibuster nuclear option.
Such is the case after the Democrats’ lust for revenge against Donald Trump for making America great again they impeached him a second time and ran an unconstitutional Senate trial after the former president already left office. Does this mean that future congresses can go after former presidents and other officials who can be impeached? Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) asked that very question.
On Friday, during the impeachment trial, Rubio asked if retroactively using the Constitution’s impeachment powers against Trump would open up a whole world of allowing a vengeful majority in Congress to go after other former government officials for impeachment after the fact and face a Senate trial?
In the question that Rubio posed he asked about “a former secretary of state,” which was a clear swipe at Hillary Clinton who also lost to Donald Trump.
Rubio’s question went like this:
“Voting to convict the former president would create a new precedent that a former official can be convicted and disqualified by the Senate. Therefore, is it not true that under this new precedent a future House facing partisan pressure to ‘lock her up’ could impeach a former Secretary of State and a future Senate be forced to put her on trial and potentially disqualify from any future office?”
King of the idiots Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD) said that the “jurisdictional issue is over.” Actually, it’s not, because I’m going to still talk about it.
King Raskin then continued saying, the senator from Florida’s question “has no bearing on this case because I don’t think you’re talking about an official who was impeached while they were in office for conduct that they committed while they were in office.” I just loved it he had to answer that question.
One of former President Trump’s defense lawyers Michael van der Vee completely disagreed, telling Rubio that the Democrats are setting a dangerous precedent that could be applied to the “former secretary of state,” and further, their irresponsible behaviors could apply “to a lot of people and that’s not the way this is supposed to work and not only could it happen to a lot of people, it would become much more regular, too.”
Van der Veen then warned against a slippery slope the Democrats created when they decided to hold a Senate impeachment trial against a president that is no longer in office.
“The original question is an absolutely slippery slope that I don’t really think anybody here wants to send this country down,” van der Veen said.
I believe they do because this was not about the Constitution, it was not about our country, it was not about a “criminal president.” This was about the Democrats’ desire for power and nothing else. They fear a Donald Trump run in 2024, not only because he could run and win but because he will be scrutinizing everything that the Biden administration and the Democrat-controlled Congress does between now and then. Had they convicted him, the Left could have claimed Trump’s political clout was worthless. Now, they have to deal with him in the real world.
I guarantee because he was acquitted in the Senate that the Democrats are going to push for state officials to criminally go after him.
President Trump was acquitted for the second time on Saturday with a vote of 57 – 43. That included 7 Republicans who either don’t understand the Constitution, have no concept of weighing evidence, or hate Trump so much that were willing to risk a primary.
The seven turncoats who voted with the Democrats to convict an innocent president of their own party are Mitt Romney, Richard Burr, Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins, Bill Cassidy, Ben Sasse, and Pat Toomey. Toomey and Burr are retiring, so they will save their states the trouble, but the rest of them need to be primaried out. These are the Republicans who are more like Democrats and they do nothing for the party and nothing for America. Collins and Sasse were just reelected, but elephants are known to have good memories. Mitt Romney is already more underwater than a Chinese submarine, so that leaves us Murkowski, who in the recent past said she’s not running again, but she can be the canary in the coal mine for primarying out worthless Republicans. Good riddance to all of them.
After a ridiculous morning at the US Senate where senators voted to first extend their impeachment show by adding new charges against Donald J. Trump and demanding witnesses they then quickly reversed their decision showing a total lack of maturity, added a few more hours of drama, then Trump was acquitted for good.
What the Democrats were really going for was to prevent Trump from running for office again and that failed.
As Trump’s longtime senior advisor posted, he is “acquitted forever”.
Trump’s office released the following statement:
I want to first thank my team of dedicated lawyers and others for their tireless work upholding justice and defending the truth. My deepest thanks as well to all of the United States Senators and Members of Congress who stood proudly for the Constitution we all revere and for the sacred legal principles at the heart of our country. Our cherished Constitutional Republic was founded on the impartial rule of law, the indispensable safeguard for our liberties, our rights, and our freedoms. It is a sad commentary on our times that one political party in America is given a free pass to denigrate the rule of law, defame law enforcement, cheer mobs, excuse rioters, and transform justice into a tool of political vengeance, and persecute, blacklist, cancel and suppress all people and viewpoints with whom or which they disagree. I always have, and always will be a champion for the unwavering rule of law, the heroes of law enforcement, and the right of Americans to peacefully and honorably debate the issues of the day without malice and without hate. This has been yet another phase of the greatest witch hunt in the history of our Country. No president has ever gone through anything like it, and it continues because our opponents cannot forget the almost 75 million people, the highest number ever for a sitting president, who voted for us just a few short months ago.I also want to convey my gratitude to the millions of decent, hardworking, law-abiding, God-and-Country loving citizens who have bravely supported these important principles in these very difficult and challenging times. Our historical, patriotic and beautiful movement to Make America Great Again has only just begun. In the months ahead, I have much to share with you, and I look forward to continuing our incredible journey together to achieve American greatness for all of our people. There has never been anything like it! We have so much work ahead of us, and soon we will emerge with a vision for a bright, radiant, and limitless American future. Together there is nothing we cannot accomplish. We remain, one People, one family, and one glorious nation under God, and it’s our responsibility to preserve this magnificent inheritance for our children and for generations of Americans to come. May God bless all of you, and may God forever bless the United States of America.
Speculation about why the Democrat dream team changed their minds about bringing in new witnesses was due to God’s fear about potential witnesses for the Trump team.
Starting with a lot of Democrats:
Reaction to the day by Republicans was at times hilarious:
With Senator Ted Cruz filling the time with some funny commentary about questions he would like to ask:
In the end, the Democrats were unable to make the case that Trump did anything they had demanded he had done. The fear of the other witness, who would have humiliated their childish House Impeachment managers, was too much, and they voted to acquit.
There were some moments of unity when sane Senators reached out to the American public with some levity. In the end, the Democrats further degraded their service to the American people.
43 Senators voted to convict Trump and the American people who support Trump.
Buzzfeed, a far-left news organization, covered that part of the story in an interesting temper tantrum:
“Just seven Republican senators voted to convict Donald Trump, acknowledging that the former president incited a deadly mob to attack the Capitol and try to overturn an American election because he could not come to grips with his own loss.
Sens. Richard Burr, Bill Cassidy, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Mitt Romney, Ben Sasse, and Pat Toomey voted with Democrats to hold Trump responsible for the attack. His hours of inaction as his supporters breached the Capitol, coming dangerously close to members of Congress and the vice president as some of them chanted “Hang Mike Pence!”
Introducing Pence at the last moment is quite telling about who in the former administration was helping the left take down our President.
And now, we know who is most leftist in the Republican Party, and we expect to see some new primary challenges coming to America soon.
The Impeachment wasn’t a complete waste of time after all.
Faced with acquitting their arch enemy, President Donald J. Trump, during the closing arguments of the fake Senate impeachment trial, entitled civil servants went wild. They extended their society style trial by agreeing to bring in new witnesses to testify to new charges on Saturday morning.
A storyline not favorable to taxpayer-funded politicians, who appear to have set a trap for Trump to not defend himself fully in the days leading up to the trial, leaked information to media and then employed social media to make noise about planted stories, emerged in shocking detail.
But how did the media get so worked up so fast?
5 Republicans joined the Democrats to demand an extension of the fake Impeachment trial. Mitt Romney, Lindsey Graham, Susan Collins, Pat Toomey, Ben Sasse.
See Leahy make the announcement:
“On the fifth day of former president Donald Trump’s impeachment trial, Senators voted 55-45 to hear witnesses, potentially extending the trial. On Friday, both House managers and Donald Trump’s legal team fielded questions from Senators after the former president’s defense team presented its case on his role in the January 6 assault on the US Capitol building. House impeachment managers presented their arguments against Trump on Wednesday and Thursday.”
“As of late yesterday afternoon, there was a stipulation going around that there weren’t going to be any witnesses,” van der Veen argued. “After what happened here in this chamber yesterday, the House managers realize they did not investigate this case before bringing the impeachment; they did not give the proper consideration and work. They didn’t put the work in that was necessary to impeach the former president.”
Raskin argued that Friday night, Rep. Jamie Herrera Beutler, R-Wash., issued a statement confirming that in the middle of the riots, when McCarthy called Trump to ask for help, and the president reportedly replied to him, “I guess these people are more upset about the election than you are.”
Speculation as to why McCarthy’s office would leak that information to the media and how it got to social media influencers quickly. That is how the left works, perfectly to shape public opinion.
“Needless to say, this is an additional critical piece of corroborating evidence, further confirming the charges before you as well as the president’s willful dereliction of duty and desertion of duty,” Raskin said.
The truth is Trump was about to be acquitted, so the left moved the goal post and on the spot invented new charges.
Trump’s attorney argued that Trump was not being tried on charges of dereliction and that if one witness would be called, “I’m going to need at least over 100 depositions, not just one” from people who were charged with rioting that Democrats claimed all blamed Trump for encouraging them to take action.
From an early tweet, Jim Acosta, from CNN reported an eyebrow-raising storyline that suggested former Vice President Mike Pence had been leaking information to the leftist media and Democrats, and the propaganda media was springing into action to set the narrative:
“The only thing that I ask if you vote for witnesses do not handcuff me, limiting the number of witnesses that I can have,” he said. “I need to do the 9/11 style investigation that (Speaker) Nancy Pelosi called for. It should have been done already. It’s a dereliction of the House managers duty that they didn’t.”
It looks as if Trump was set up, but that all of America has been set up.
aul Sperry holds out a crumb of hope that any turn around will happen:
There is a discussion in DC to disallow Trump from being allowed to have witnesses. Interesting work for our civil servants, who have not missed one ay check, and still won’t while they play political games.
