Documents Revealed Maxine Waters Requested Police Protection For Her Recent Trip To Minnesota

Dan Bongino often says on his great podcast show that the Republicans are not the answer to all of your problems, but the Democrats most certainly are the cause of all of your problems.

Blatant hypocrisy flourishes among the Democratic Party elites, and they never really had to care about getting caught because they have an entire sympathetic mainstream news media that stopped reporting news a long time ago that runs interference for them.

Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA) recently traveled to Hennepin County, Minnesota and told protesters that if the jury on the form Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin’s murder trial didn’t come back with the verdict in her words, “Guilty, guilty, guilty” they needed to stay out in the streets and “get more confrontational.”

There are now documents that show the California Democrat asked for police protection during her trip. The travel logs that were published by Townhall show Waters asked for protection from US Capitol Police for her trip from the DC swamp to Brooklyn Center, describing the trip as a “moderate” risk factor.

So the woman who constantly trashes police as if all cops are bad and wants to defund the police asked for police protection. So it’s only you and me who won’t get police protection, but Waters and the other political elites will as blatant hypocrisy continues to flourish.

Waters told a crowd of protesters on Saturday that she will accept no other option than a “guilty, guilty, guilty” verdict for Chauvin, who had been charged with third-degree murder, second-degree murder, and manslaughter. Chauvin pleaded not guilty to all charges. The jury convicted Chauvin on all three charges Tuesday afternoon.

“We’re looking to see if all of the talk that took place and has been taking place after they saw what happened to George Floyd, if nothing does not happen, then we know that we’ve got to not only stay in the street, but we’ve got to fight for justice,” Waters said.

Waters’ inciting rhetoric was criticized by presiding Judge Peter Cahill who advised Chauvin’s defense attorney after declining to declare a mistrial claiming her comments could have prejudiced the jury.

“I’m aware of the media reports. I’m aware that Congresswoman Waters was talking specifically about this trial, and about the unacceptability of anything less than a murder conviction, talked about being confrontational,” the judge said. “But you can submit the press articles about that. This goes back to what I’ve been saying from the beginning. I wish elected officials would stop talking about this case, especially in a manner that is disrespectful to the rule of law and to the judicial branch and our function.”

Cahill also asked that elected officials to stop commenting on the pending case.

“I think if they want to give their opinions, they should do so in a respectful, and in a manner that is respectful to the Constitution, to respect the co-equal branch of government. Their failure to do so I think is abhorrent, but I don’t think it has prejudiced this, with additional material that would prejudice this jury.”

Maxine Waters and a majority of members of her party gave up respecting our Constitution a long time ago. Just listen to their words and watch their actions. They only invoke it when a clause here or there is useful in their purpose to destroy it.

After being pressed on Cahill’s statement about her comments potentially being grounds for an appeal, Waters said, “Oh no, no they didn’t.”

Republicans also criticized Waters for her interfering in the trial.

GOP House minority leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) demanded that Nancy Pelosi take action against Waters for her comments and said that if she didn’t, he would take action himself.

Representative Marjorie Taylor Green (R-GA) introduced a resolution that would expel Waters from Congress, and McCarthy said he is going to propose a censure resolution on Monday.

Greene filed the resolution after pressing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to expel Waters on Sunday, accusing the California congresswoman of being a “criminal” for inciting violence with her comments after she crossed state lines to join Black Lives Matter protesters in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota for the accidental fatal police shooting of Daunte Wright.

On Tuesday, New York City Police Commissioner Dermot Shea had some words for Waters over her comments.

“I think it’s incredibly reckless. I even have stronger feelings but I’ll keep them to myself,” Commissioner Shea said.

Maxine Waters Dismisses Chauvin Murder Trial Judge’s Criticism Her Comments Seen as Inciting Violence Could Be Grounds For Appeal

Maxine Waters Dismisses Chauvin Murder Trial Judge’s Criticism Her Comments Seen as Inciting Violence Could Be Grounds For Appeal

We reported when Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA) threatened the jurors deliberating the Derek Chauvin case and the civil society of Minneapolis and elsewhere telling reporters that if Chauvin is not found guilty of the top charge, Second Degree Murder, she encourages people to “stay on the streets” and to “get more confrontational.”

Waters seemed to brush off criticism by Judge Peter Cahill, who is presiding over the Chauvin murder trial, who said that her remarks about the case could be grounds for appealing a verdict. Way to go, Low IQ Maxine.

Over the weekend, Waters encouraged protesters to “get more confrontational” if Chauvin is not convicted for George Floyd’s death. The dumbbell congresswoman said as far as she’s concerned she believes Floyd is guilty of First Degree Murder. She normally doesn’t know what she’s talking about and this time is no different. Not only would what Chauvin did not fall under First Degree Murder, but when you read the statutes, he shouldn’t even be convicted of the crimes he was charged with, including second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter. The manslaughter charge would be the only one Chauvin might be convicted of with a healthy Olympian style stretching of the statute.  Waters, like a dope, thinks First Degree Murder sounds way more serious than Second Degree Murder, so she thinks it should be First Degree Murder. Folks, this woman chairs the House Financial Services Committee!

WATCH:

On Monday, Chauvin’s lawyer asked Judge Cahill to declare a mistrial because of the inciting rhetoric of Waters’ comments, claiming she had prejudiced the trial. The judge denied his request.

“I’ll give you that Congresswoman Waters may have given you something on appeal that may result in this whole trial being overturned,” Cahill said as arguments in the case concluded and the judge handed it over to the jury for deliberations.

Waters had said protesters needed to “stay on the street” demanding justice until there is real police reform. She also said if Chauvin is not found guilty, “we’ve got to stay on the street, and we’ve got to get more active. We’ve got to get more confrontational. We’ve got to make sure that they know that we mean business.”

Throwing cover for the dopey Waters, CNN said the judge also noted that “a congresswoman’s opinion really doesn’t matter a whole lot.” Anyone reading this knows that’s not true. In a normal case where the divisions of our society were not so stark, I would agree, but not now. The Left has divided us more than at any time in my lifetime.

CNN said Waters gave a response to the judge’s comments as she left the floor of the House on Monday. “The judge says my words don’t matter,” she said.

After being pressed on Judge Cahill’s remarks about her comments possibly being grounds for an appeal, Waters said “Oh no, no they didn’t.” Are we supposed to trust a woman who thinks someone should be charged with first-degree murder instead of second-degree murder because she’s really, really, really, really angry about it?

She told CNN that her reference to confrontation was meant in the context of the civil rights movement’s nonviolent history, saying that “the whole civil rights movement is confrontation.” She’s full of crap too. She used the word “fight” as well, even though Democrats impeached Trump for saying we were going to “fight like hell” to overturn the election that was stolen from him, claiming that to be incitement.

House minority leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) demanded that Speaker Nancy Pelosi take action against Waters for her incitement rhetoric and vowed to take his own action if she does not. McCarthy took to social media to hold the Democrats to their own rules.

“Maxine Waters is inciting violence in Minneapolis — just as she has incited it in the past. If Speaker Pelosi doesn’t act against this dangerous rhetoric, I will bring action this week.”

“Telling rioters who have burned buildings, looted stores, and assaulted journalists to get ‘more confrontational’ is incredibly irresponsible. Every House Democrat should condemn Maxine Waters’ call for violence,” Mike Berg, the National Republican Congressional Committee spokesman, said to Fox News.

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) issued a resolution calling for Waters’ expulsion from Congress.

When asked if Waters should apologize for her rhetoric, Pelosi responded in the negative.

“No, she doesn’t,” Pelosi said. “Maxine talked about confrontation in the manner of the civil rights movement.

“I, myself, think we should take our lead from the George Floyd family. They’ve handled this with great dignity, and no ambiguity or lack of — misinterpretation by the other side.”

She did not talk about the civil rights movement. She never mentioned civil rights when she made her threats. And why should she have talked about civil rights? George Floyd’s death had nothing to do with race. We have all seen the videos. Floyd resisted arrest from the minute police went to arrest him. We have also seen video footage from a prior arrest where he acted in the same deranged ways he did on May 25, 2020. The difference was back then he didn’t have a lethal dose of Fentanyl with meth in his bloodstream.

Pelosi added: “No, I don’t think she should apologize.”

Everyone reading this knows darn right well that had the roles been reversed and a republican had said such despicable things during a trial Pelosi would be preparing a mission to expel that member from Congress. The result is just another example of how two-faced Democrats are.

Judge in Chauvin Trial Blasts Maxine Waters For Her Threatening Comments to Jurors, “Abhorrent” and “Disrespectful” (VIDEO)

Judge in Chauvin Trial Blasts Maxine Waters For Her Threatening Comments to Jurors, “Abhorrent” and “Disrespectful” (VIDEO)

The judge presiding over the Derek Chauvin trial, Peter Cahill is loudly criticizing Maxine Waters over the comments she made encouraging a step up in violence and also for jury intimidation.

Although he refused to call a mistrial Cahill did tell the defense that Waters’ words could be used to win an appeal in case the verdict is against him.

Just hours after Waters told rioters to step up their game and confrontational there was a drive-by shooting of National Guard troops.

The judge went off on Maxine Waters and called her incitement to violence “abhorrent” and “disrespectful” in his decision not to allow a mistrial motion from the defense. There has already been actiON against Waters for incitement to riot.

Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene has filed a resolution calling for Waters to be thrown out of the House. She has also started a petition where you can add your name to it.

This is not the first time that Waters has tried to stir up the radical leftists.

After several people, working for Trump were harassed when eating, Waters gave them instructions to harass every member of the Trump administration at restaurants and at department stores. This seems to be a pattern for her.

The decision in the Chauvin case is expected this week.

House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy Pressures Speaker Pelosi To Take Action Against Maxine Waters For Inciting Violence

House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy Pressures Speaker Pelosi To Take Action Against Maxine Waters For Inciting Violence

On Sunday night, House minority leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) pressured House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to take action against Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA) for “inciting violence” with statements she made in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, over the weekend.

McCarthy vowed if Pelosi doesn’t take action, he will take his own action against Waters for her remarks encouraging violence in Minnesota if a jury does not find former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin guilty in his trial for the death of George Floyd.

For the degenerate progressives who might be reading this, Kevin McCarthy did not just say he believes Derek Chauvin is not guilty. He is simply trying to hold the Democrats to their own rules. This is not the first time Waters has encouraged violence.

Waters, in her remarks to reporters at a protest in Brooklyn Center where thousands have been protesting the death of Daunte Wright, emboldened people to “take to the streets” if Chauvin is found not guilty of the murder of George Floyd, one of the several charges the former Minneapolis police officer faces in his trial in Floyd’s death. The trial is, which it is believed will conclude this week.

“We’re looking for a guilty verdict,” Waters said. “And we’re looking to see if all of the talk that took place and has been taking place after they saw what happened to George Floyd, if nothing does not happen, then we know that we’ve got to not only stay in the street, but we’ve got to fight for justice. But I am very hopeful, and I hope we are going to get a verdict that says ‘guilty, guilty, guilty.’ If we don’t, we cannot go away.”

WATCH:

The same remarks would have landed a Republican in the hot seat by Pelosi and others, so we’re going to find out how two-faced the Speaker is.

Remember, just a couple of months ago when Democrats and their boot-licking sycophants in the Fake News media tried to say that then-President Donald Trump incited violence when he said they were going to fight to expose massive election fraud? How is Maxine Waters saying “we’ve got to fight for justice” any different?

And let’s not kid ourselves that telling her supporters they have to “take to the streets” if Chauvin is not found guilty was a cry for going door to door to get petition signatures. She, like everyone else, knows that her words meant to rabble-rouse the community. She knew her words would agitate a group of people who are already primed and capable of violence. Just look back to the summer months for what happened in Democrat-run cities across the country.

To confirm McCarthy’s accusations, when Waters was asked what protesters (read rioters) should do if Chauvin is found not guilty of murder, she responded saying, “We’ve got to stay on the street and we’ve got to get more active. We’ve got to get more confrontational. We’ve got to make sure they know we mean business.”

Did you hear that? “Get more confrontational” and “make sure they know we mean business.” First off, who are “they” that Waters is talking about? When she uses the word confrontational, and I don’t mean what she will say today if asked what she meant, because she’s a bald-faced liar. I mean, what can we conclude, given the totality of her statements, she meant when she said it? For that matter, what did she mean by “make sure they know we mean business.”

As said previously, this is not the first time Waters has proposed actions that would easily turn to violence. Waters once told supporters to accost Trump administration officials and telling them they should get in their face, and form a crowd, and tell them they are not welcome.

WATCH:

I believe Pelosi may speak with Waters privately on the phone, but I seriously doubt she will ever take action against the California congresswoman because Democrats do not hold their own accountable for anything unless they no longer play the Democrat game.

Minnesota National Guard Targeted in Drive By Shooting Hours After Rep. Maxine Waters Told BLM To Be ‘More Confrontational’

Minnesota National Guard Targeted in Drive By Shooting Hours After Rep. Maxine Waters Told BLM To Be ‘More Confrontational’

Lock her up! Just a few hours after Maxine Waters, a placeholder in the House, told them rioters in Brooklyn Center that they needed to be more confrontational in that Minneapolis suburb, there was a drive by shooting at the national Guard troops. In legal terms that is inciting to riot. If it is incitement for President Trump telling people to march peacefully to the Capitol then telling people tom be more confrontational is definitely incitement.

The drive by shooting just hours after Waters instructing people to be more violent speaks for itself. The feds are investigating incitement by President Trump. Do you think they will open one on Waters? No way. She enjoys liberal privilege. It’s only a crime if a Republican says to march peacefully, but it is not a crime to tell people to be more confrontational that leads to a drive by shouting at the National Guard.

The 82-year-old California congresswoman broke the curfew as she was instructing the troops to become more violent if police officer, Derek Chauvin is found innocent. This should also be investigated as jury intimidation. You are telling them that their verdict of innocent would lead to riots. That creates a lot of pressure ion them especially if their names become public.

Already a witness in the trial had his home vandalized with a severed pig’s head and blood. There is not a thing them domestic terrorists will not do, so I imagine that is a huge worry for the jurors.

The Gateway Pundit

Local news station WCCO reports that the Minnesota National Guard said its members, along with Minneapolis police officers, were “providing neighborhood security” near Penn and Broadway avenues when someone fired shots from a white SUV.

The shooting took place shortly after 4 a.m.

Two members of the guard had minor injuries. One of them was taken to the hospital with cuts from shattered glass.

“I am relieved to know none of our Guardsmen were seriously injured,” said Maj. Gen. Shawn Manke, the Adjutant General of the Minnesota National Guard . “This event highlights the volatility and tension in our communities right now. I ask for peace as we work through this difficult time.”

“We’ve got to stay in the streets, and we’ve got to demand justice,” Waters told the militant leftists.

“We’re looking for a guilty verdict,” the representative added, speaking of Chauvin.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Says She Will Introduce Resolution to Expel Maxine Waters From Congress

Marjorie Taylor Greene Says She Will Introduce Resolution to Expel Maxine Waters From Congress

Marjorie Taylor Greene says she will be introducing legislation to remove Maxine Waters from the House for inciting the rioters in Minnesota. Just hours after Waters told the crowd that they needed to step up confrontation in the Minneapolis area a white SUV drove by National Guardsmen and opened fire. Two members of the Guard were slightly wounded. One went to the hospital after he was hit by flying glass.

Freshman Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) said Sunday that she planned to offer the resolution because of the incendiary remarks Waters made to the rioters in the Minneapolis suburb of Brooklyn Center. Waters also demanded that the jury come back with a verdict of guilty. Maxine Waters is one of the many Democrats who claim that it is conservatives that are violent, not antifa or BLM.

Greene posted her intention to Twitter, saying:

“Very soon I’ll be introducing a resolution to expel @RepMaxineWaters from Congress for her continual incitement of violence on innocent American people. Rep Waters is a danger to our society…After traveling across state lines to incite riots, her orders recorded on video last night at the Brooklyn Center, directly led to more violence and a drive by shooting on National Guardsmen in Minnesota early this morning…As a sitting United States Congresswoman @MaxineWaters threatened a jury demanding a guilty verdict and threatened violence if Chauvin is found not guilty. This is also an abuse of power.#ExpelMaxineWaters”

From The Gateway Pundit

Members of congress have spoken up about this:

Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado, “Why is Maxine Waters traveling to a different state trying to incite a riot? What good can come from this?…Molotov cocktails and firecrackers are not enough. Mad Max wants rioters to get MORE confrontational…Maxine Waters would already be expelled if she was a Republican.”

Rep. Ken Buck of Colorado asked, “Why is a sitting member of Congress encouraging protesters to get “confrontational?””

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) commented on Waters, “Democrats actively encouraging riots & violence. They want to tear us apart.“’We gotta stay on the street,’ Waters was recorded saying, adding that protesters needed ‘to get more confrontational’ & they should ignore the curfew in place.””

In June 2018 Waters encouraged liberals to attack Trump officials in public:

Maxine Waters Goes to Protest Over Wrongful Death of Duante Wright ‘We’Ve Got To Get More Confrontational’ [VIDEO]

Maxine Waters Goes to Protest Over Wrongful Death of Duante Wright ‘We’Ve Got To Get More Confrontational’ [VIDEO]

On Sunday, Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA) met up with hundreds of angry protesters who gathered in Brooklyn Center, all of them, including the congresswoman, were breaking the 11 pm curfew during the seventh night of protests against the police killing of Daunte Wright.

“We’ve got to stay in the streets, and we’ve got to demand justice,” she urged the crowd, according to a video tweeted out by Jack Posobiec.

“We’re looking for a guilty verdict” Waters said, referring to former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin’s trial for the killing of George Floyd, as deliberations are supposed to begin next week. Did you hear that? Screw the facts and evidence presented at trial. She wants a guilty verdict. The woman has always been a despicable person.

“And if we don’t, we cannot go away,” she added. “We’ve got to get more confrontational.” No one in the mainstream media will report that she is inciting people with inflammatory speech.

WATCH:

This isn’t Waters’ first time inciting people to protest. She infamously told her supporters to accost Trump administration officials telling them wherever they spot them that they should get in their face, form a crowd, and tell them they are not welcome. Talk about inciting potential violence.

Asked about the curfew, Waters said, “I don’t know what curfew means,” according to another tweeted clip.

“A curfew means that ‘I want y’all to stop talking,’” she said, adding, “I don’t agree with it.”

WATCH:

I wouldn’t want to be the one tasked with the labor of explaining to this moron that the curfew is to curb violence at night, to protect the innocent, and not to curb speech.

Waters said she wouldn’t stay out at the protest much longer personally, but she urged everyone else to keep at it. She probably had to fly home on her broom to resume pulling wings off of flies.

“I came here for one reason, just to be here, to make sure that I let my thoughts be heard among all of those who have spent so much time on the streets. And so I’m hopeful that the protests will continue,” she said.

A live video stream showed protesters starting the night out by chanting and playing music outside the Brooklyn Center Police Department.

“No good cops in a racist system!” “F–K your curfew!” and “No justice, no peace!” they screamed with some more of some other very colorful metaphors.

WATCH:

Just the day before, almost a hundred people were arrested when they tried to rip down a fence surrounding the police station.

Reporters said they were assaulted and pepper-sprayed, then detained by police, who later photographed their press credentials before allowing any reporters to leave.

On Saturday, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz slammed those actions taken against the press as “unacceptable in every circumstance,” and promised the incidents “would be looked into,” The Star Tribune reported.

Walz is not an effective leader by any measure. He should have just kept his mouth shut. He has to know that protesters often claim to be members of the press to get out of being arrested by the cops.

20-year-old Wright was fatally shot during a traffic stop on April 11 by 26-year veteran Police Officer Kim Potter, who said she had intended to use a Taser and accidentally pulled her gun instead. Potter resigned from the department and has subsequently been charged with manslaughter.

Wright’s killing came just days before Chicago police released a body camera video of the March 29 police shooting of 13-year-old Adam Toledo, who was carrying a gun up until about 53 milliseconds before a cop shot him, igniting demonstrations and protests in Chicago.

Protests broke out Saturday night in Washington, DC where a crowd of about 150 people chanted down streets the names of people who have died at the hands of police.

George Floyd means We Got to Fight Back “Sandra Bland means We Got to Fight Back #AdamToledo means We Got to Fight Back #BreonnaTaylor means We Got to Fight Back #KaronHylton means We Got to Fight Back… #DCProtests

In almost every instance, the people who died at the hands of police were resisting arrest and or fighting with police officers. No disrespect intended to those who were killed, but instead of people chanting that the cops are racist and hunting down black men, they should teach their children that if they did something wrong and are caught by police don’t resist them. If you did something wrong, then you know it. Police deal with thousands and thousands of black people every year, and the simple truth is those who do not fight with the cops or put police lives in danger don’t get shot.

SHE CALLED ME A ‘BOT’: Maxine Waters Subverts The Truth About Her Calls For Violence, The Double Standards Of The Left

SHE CALLED ME A ‘BOT’: Maxine Waters Subverts The Truth About Her Calls For Violence, The Double Standards Of The Left

Maxine Water, a far-left US Senator from California, hates President Donald J. Trump’s ‘America First’ agenda so much that she went out in public early in his first administration and demanded her followers harass, stalk and threaten supporters of Trump’s in an attempt to intimidate her political opponents, but she says it wasn’t mean.

Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., has publically denied encouraging supporters to confront and harass members of the Trump administration,” Fox News reported Sunday.

The California Democrat was asked whether she ever “glorified or encouraged” violence against Republicans in a Sunday interview with MSNBC’s Ali Velshi.

“As a matter of fact, if you look at the words that I used, the strongest thing I said was tell them they’re not welcome,” Waters claimed. “[I said] Talk to them. Tell them they’re not welcome. I didn’t say go and fight. I didn’t say anybody was going to have any violence. And so they can’t make that stick.”

In other words, she didn’t do anything mean.

Waters has been cyberstalking and harassing American citizens over their support of Trump and his agenda as a leading, toxic public speaker for the “resistance” of Trump’s presidential authority, usurping our system with corrupt social justice tactics, including violence.

This week Waters will sit in judgment of Trump in what appears to be a soviet show trial and lacks all Constitutional authority, a second impeachment trial in front of the US Senate, and the first time Democrats will attempt to impeach a US Citizen, who is not a sitting President.

Watters came under fire in 2018 for telling the same network that she had “no sympathy” for administration officials who defended Trump’s “zero-tolerance” immigration policy and urged her supporters to “absolutely harass them” when appearing in public.

“They’re not going to be able to go to a restaurant, they’re not going to be able to stop at a gas station, they’re not going to be able to shop at a department store,” Waters said at the time. “The people are going to turn on them; they’re going to protest, they’re going to absolutely harass them.”

But that’s ok because our country is now being run on “Progressive-Communist Privilege”, and Water is a leader of that movement.

Water is driven by pure emotions and, of course, her lust for power.

On Twitter, Waters called me a “bot” when I asked about the numerous ethics violations she has been charged with over her very long career as a public servant.

I think those charges show a conflict of interest.  I contacted Water’s office numerous times and was rebuffed numerous times because I am nothing more than a “Trump supporter.”

It is very convenient for Watters, who doesn’t want to answer any media requests about her long suspicious ethics complications, call everyone else names, and direct violence our way in a behavior pattern that helps to avoid what may be massive deceptive behavior on her part.

But the left never seems to have to face any consequences for their real actions, while they hyper-focus on their opponents’ imagined behavior. That is called “gaslighting. Expect to see a lot of that in the impeachment show trial. .”

Maxine Waters, Karen, Got Rich From Campaign Funds

Maxine Waters, Karen, Got Rich From Campaign Funds

US Rep. Maxine Waters from California has been successful in helping her family become wealthy from her campaign. Waters is a repeat offender, she has been in front of the House Ethics Committee a few times for treating the American Tax base as a personal piggy bank and somehow she has just been reelected by voters in California, who seems to love her for her opulent lifestyle.

The news is out that her daughter has made a great deal of money, at a time when most Americans have been suffering from pangs of Pandemic Shut Down.

The New York Post reported on the Water’s family cash in:

The daughter of California Rep. Maxine Waters netted around $240,000 this past election cycle — from her mother’s own campaign, new records show.

The congresswoman’s campaigns shelled out payments to Karen Waters for work she did on her 82-year-old mother’s re-election campaign, including “slate mailer management” and “GOTV” — or likely “Get Out the Vote” services.

The payments appear in new Federal Election Commission filings reported by Fox News on Friday.

More than $212,600 in disbursements to Karen Waters are broken down into 26 entries such as “slate mailer management” fees, “office expenses” and “canvassing” between March 2019 and September 2020.
Another $28,150 in payments to Karen Waters occurred in October and November, for “GOTV” and “slate mailer management” fees — though one for $1,000 was simply labeled “Walker payments.”

Maxine Waters, who chairs the House Financial Services Committee, has been scrutinized over payments to her daughter before. Her campaign has paid Karen Waters or her public relations firm Progressive Connections to produce, print and mail slate mailers since 2004, Fox News said.

Since then, Waters’ daughter has reportedly received almost $1 million from the campaign.

The newest FEC filing shows five entries for Karen Waters: a $1,000 payment dated Oct. 23 for “Walker payments”; payments of $900 and $5,000, dated Oct. 30 and Nov. 2, respectively, both marked “GOTV”; and payments of $8,750 and $12,500,” dated Nov. 6 and Nov. 17, respectively, both marked “Slate Mailer Management Fee.” The five payments total $28,150.

The purposes for the payments are not clear, although “GOTV” may refer to unspecified “Get out the vote” services.

Payments to other recipients that appear on the same newly submitted document suggest fees for event staging, package delivery, campaign consulting, telecom service and media advertising.

The document lists a “Total Disbursement Amount (Non-Memo)” of $480,275.72 and a “Total Disbursement Amount (Memo)” of $30,006.05.

The FEC’s listing of previously disclosed payments to the daughter for the most recent election cycle shows Karen Waters to be the highest-paid of the 10 recipients on the page.
