The National Guard provided intense, top-notch Military level security for the workers in Washington DC for the last week. During a period of time, the civil servants in DC said they feared for their lives, even telling media that American voters were out to get them and kill them during the inauguration show of Democrat Joe Biden. But everything went off perfectly for the show on Wednesday, allowing for numerous celebrity guests to be given access to the highest power in the world.
The Democrats were very concerned with the many A list celebrities they had at their show, including a dancer named Jlo, photographed below.
DC was on the highest of military alerts, with the town being divided into red and green zones for days, to pamper and comfort the shaken and dazed workers from their unrelenting fears of brutal violence and to prevent what the Democrats said was a massive insurrection of violent roaming gangs of Trump-supporting “domestic terrorists.”
The Democrats even insisted that the Guard members, themselves, be investigated for loyalty to Democrats because the threats were so bone-chilling and spine-tingling that it was necessary to harass them that way.
And what happened was no one even bothered to go to the Inauguration at all, other than celebrities, and there was no violence.
The Democrats had a very smooth and peaceful transfer of power and were able to show off to their Hollywood big wigs.
Yet by Thursday, the troops who provided top-notch security were kicked out of warm floors in National spaces where they were sleeping and eating and made to sleep and eat in cold parking garages after the show camera was off the area.
Someone decided they were finished with men and women of the National Guard.
The story of this massive betrayal to our finest Americans went viral. Images of our men and women in uniform who protected the US Capitol in very stressful times went out into cyberspace with the headline that they feel “betrayed” because they were made to station in a cold garage outside of the Capitol:
‘We feel incredibly betrayed’: Thousands of Guardsmen forced to vacate Capitol.
“Guardsmen said they were not given a clear reason why they were asked to vacate the buildings.
Thousands of National Guardsmen were forced to vacate congressional grounds on Thursday and are now taking their rest breaks outside and in nearby parking garages after two weeks of sleepless nights protecting the nation’s capital in the wake of the violent Jan. 6 assault on the U.S. Capitol.
According to one Guardsman, one unit, which had been resting in the Dirksen Senate Office building, was abruptly told to vacate the facility on Thursday. The group was forced to rest in a nearby parking garage without internet reception, with just one electrical outlet, and one bathroom with two stalls for 5,000 troops, the person said.”
One reporter said that the order had come from the “Senate
Kevin McCarthy posted top Democrats Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, looking for answers:
When the cameras are on, or Pelosi wants to virtue signal about the troops, she uses photos for her benefit, such as this post she used to make herself look good:
We need to get to the bottom of this. An investigation is needed. In truth, this is a serious matter. Democrats have shown how much disregard they have for the men and women who serve the entire country, something the US Congress apparently knows nothing about. .”
Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer doubled down on his call for Joe Biden, if God forbid he gets away with stealing the 2020 presidential election, to skirt around the Congress and cancel billions of dollars in student loan debt on his first day in office with the stroke of a pen. In other words, he wants YOU to pay for it. Yes YOU. If you’re reading this and you pay income taxes, he wants YOU to pay for other people’s student loans, people you don’t know.
Whereas this swamp rat Schumer is totally serious, you know he’s coming out and pushing this issue right now to get people with student loans, and people who are sympathetic to people who are paying off their student loans, to support the two Democrats who are running in the Georgia runoff elections. He is appealing to the lowest common denominator among Americans who feel that everything should be free.
On Monday, Schumer spoke to reporters from his Manhattan office.
“We have come to the conclusion that President Biden can undo this debt, can forgive $50,000 of debt the first day he becomes president,” Schumer said He added, “You don’t need Congress. All you need is the flick of a pen.”
The enormity of the unfairness of this should be patently obvious. Chuck Schumer is asking – nay – is demanding that the American taxpayers, many of whom like me may have already paid off their own student loans, to pay off student loan debt for other people who signed on the same line of their student loan forms that everyone who already paid off their loans did.
This dirt bag senator from New York has in the past nudged Joe Biden to move on a plan he worked on with the not Native American Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) that gives a president executive authority to immediately cancel up to $50,000 of student debt per borrower. Wasn’t Warren’s big thing about consumer protection? So, now she’s for screwing the general public to help deadbeats who don’t want to pay their loans?
I think every person who accepts the $50,000 payoff should immediately get a bad credit rating that should stay with them until the determinate time that they would have paid off their loans had they not irresponsibly forced the payments onto their neighbors.
Biden himself called for dumping $10,000 in student loan debt as part of a coronavirus relief package. Under his dopey idea, borrowers who don’t want to pay their own debts would immediately have $10,000 forgiven from their student loans. Again, someone is going to have to pay that money, and that someone is YOU!
Schumer once estimated that his proposal would forgive over 75 percent of student loan borrowers and partial forgiveness for more than 95 percent. He did not mention how much it will cost American taxpayers who did not have student loans.
“This debt is a huge burden on the backs of our students, standing in the way of them and their economy, and it stays with them for a very long time,” he said Monday.
I would have to expect this kind of lunacy legislation would be challenged in court, and I don’t believe it would survive the challenge. The federal government is not allowed for force one citizen to pay the debts of another. When you force someone’s labor to benefit someone else, that’s called slavery and that was outlawed over a hundred years ago. Further, if a corporate CEO created a program that forced current customers to pay for the the new program they never signed up for, that CEO would rightfully be doing the perp walk. How is what Schumer wants to do any different?
The person who filed a complaint against President Donald Trump for allegedly pressuring Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigative former Democratic Vice President Joe Biden is being represented by a lawyer who once worked for two top Democrats, including Trump’s 2016 opponent, Hillary Clinton.
Andrew Bakaj, who currently works as a managing partner at Compass Rose Legal Group, was an intern for longtime Democratic senator and current Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.). Bakaj also worked for Clinton when she was a senator, and late Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D-N.Y.) and had stints with the Department of State and the CIA.
During his time with the Department of State, Bakaj worked at the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv. “While traveling on official business in L’viv, Ukraine, he was called upon to act as the American Official ‘on scene’ and assist in the U.S. Government’s response to one of the world’s deadliest air show disasters, which resulted in substantial American aid,” according to his official biography.
Bakaj is part of the Law Office of Mark Zaid. Zaid is another attorney with strong Democratic connections and has been vocal in his opposition to Trump. Zaid is serving as co-counsel for the person who filed the complaint.
The so-called anonymous whistleblower, who reportedly did not have direct knowledge of the phone call between Trump and Zelensky, may testify to the House Intelligence Committee this week, according to Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.).
Zaid told The Washingtonian that the lawyers for the person do not want his or her identity ever made public.
“It’s not about the whistleblower. It’s about the allegation,” he said. “If the whistleblower can remain anonymous and the allegations are investigated properly, it means the system worked.”
The lawyers sent a letter to Acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire, alerting him that they were going to contract congressional committees about the complaint. In a letter back (pdf), Jason Klitenic, general counsel of the director’s office, said that the complaint “does not fall within the statutory definition of an ‘urgent concern’ set forth in U.S. code.”
Klitenic said that “because your client’s complaint involves confidential and potentially privileged communications by persons outside of the Intelligence Community, we are consulting with other Executive Branch stakeholders before transmitting to you the guidance sought.”
The connection between Bakaj, Clinton, and Schumer was reported by other outlets, including The Federalist. President Trump shared the online magazine’s article about the connection on Twitter.
Some Republicans wondered about the connection, including Rep. Mark Walker (R-N.C.).
“Let me get this straight: the whistleblower (leaker) had no firsthand knowledge of the call and was just spreading a rumor? And now is being represented by an attorney who had to leave the CIA after a ‘whistleblower’ incident and has the names Schumer and Clinton on his resume?” Walker said in a post on Twitter.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), two of the most sinister people in Congress, have given indications that they are willing to increase the amount of money for the stimulus checks that go to American workers who have been harmed, not just by the Chinese coronavirus, but by Democrat governors and mayors who have needlessly closed down small businesses putting millions out of work. The Democrat leadership cared not one iota about working families until President Donald Trump threatened to veto the COVID Relief Bill unless the direct payment was increased to $2,000 per individual or $4,000 per couple. The president read off many of the wasteful spendings in the bill that looked like a Democrat wish list of “vote for me” goodies that have nothing to do with COVID-19 relief for Americans.
Of course, they are willing to increase the amount of working families. What other choice do they have? Does anyone really think they want Trump to continue reading down the list of disgraceful line items for spending to foreign countries and for liberal government enterprises that aren’t even open for business? The very fact that they appropriated up to 1,800 dollars to illegal aliens, who are in the country illegally, and are not citizens, then only one-third of that to American citizens is enough to throw all of them out of office even before the next election. Torches and pitchforks style. What a disgrace these political ideologies are.
“Republicans repeatedly refused to say what amount the President wanted for direct checks. At last, the President has agreed to $2,000—Democrats are ready to bring this to the Floor this week by unanimous consent. Let’s do it!” Pelosi said on social media on Tuesday.
Schumer took to social media not long after Pelosi posted her bullschtein lies.
“We spent months trying to secure $2,000 checks but Republicans blocked it. Trump needs to sign the bill to help people and keep the government open and we’re glad to pass more aid Americans need. Maybe Trump can finally make himself useful and get Republicans not to block it again.”
It is unforgivable that the Democrats are now blaming Republicans. It is the Democrats whop added all the billions of dollars of pork spending for their liberal wishlist items, that American workers are going to have to pay for in rising tax rates.
We reported on a message Trump gave via video where he pretty much threatened to veto the $2.3 trillion omnibus spending and COVID relief bill.
“Congress found plenty of money for foreign countries, lobbyists, and special interests,” the president said, “while sending the bare minimum to the American people who need it.”
“It wasn’t their fault. It was China’s fault.”
The president told lawmakers that they need to send him a reworked bill that rises to his own standards or the next administration will have to deal with it.
“And maybe that administration will be me,” he added. God willing it will be.
The president read off hundreds of millions of dollars earmarked for foreign countries over things that have nothing whatsoever to do with COVID. Cambodia, Burma, get millions of dollars. Gender programs in Pakistan? What on Lucifer’s black beach possessed them to include that? Trump pointed out that the Democrats gave $1.2 billion to the Egyptian military, which will almost exclusively purchase from Russia. I thought Democrats hated Russia.
A number of members of Congress Monday night complained that they didn’t have enough time to look through the approximately 5,500-page bill.
Trump cited tens of millions of dollars going to DC organizations like the Kennedy Center and the National Gallery of Arts, and the Smithsonian, and that NONE of them are even open for business!
“The president pointed out there was $25 million to combat Asian carp. They won’t lift a finger to combat the communist Chinese takeover of our country, but they dole out $25 million over a fish?”
$2.5 million to go toward counting the number of Amberjack fish in the Gulf of Mexico. Do the fish have COVID?
The president said he would veto the bill because stimulus payments are being doled out to “illegal aliens” and their families. He mentioned illegals under the bill get up to $1,800 while American workers get only $600.
The president can do a pocket veto at this point, which is if the Congress is to adjourn within a specific timeframe, the president doesn’t have to do a thing, the bill would just die via pocket veto. We are now within that Constitutionally prescribed time limit.
“Despite all of this wasteful spending, the $900 billion packages provides hardworking taxpayers only $600 [to Americans] in relief payments,” Trump said, making the case that the amount clearly is not enough and that not enough was done to help small business owners who have suffered during the pandemic lockdowns.
The Democrats did the small business lockdowns so tyrannically in an effort to defund the Republican Party because small business is the backbone of the GOP. At the same time, the Democrat eloquently made it so that their generous billionaire friends made out like bandits. It was reported that Jeff Bezos, who owns Amazon.com and the Washington Post, made an additional $70 billion because of the pandemic lockdowns. What the Democrats did to the American people is criminal and this bill was like rubbing dog dirt in their faces.
The big question that no mainstream news media hack will ask is, doesn’t anyone really believe that a President Joe Biden would ever stand up for the American workers the way just did here? Of course not.
On Monday, Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) demanded that the Senate must begin confirmation hearings for Joe Biden’s cabinet before Inauguration Day. Forget the fact that Biden has not even been legally confirmed as “President-Elect” yet, the Democrats want his cabinet picks ready to be confirmed on day one.
From the well of the Senate floor, the senate minority leader gave high praise for the people who have already been announced in the mainstream media’s hopes for a Biden administration and Schumer called on the Senate to begin confirmation hearings after the January 5 Georgia Senate runoff elections. In the way he said it, it makes you wonder if he knows how the Democrats are going to cheat to win those two senate seats in Georgia. I don’t trust the Democrats as far as I can throw them, and neither should you.
“As President-Elect Biden prepares to assume office on Jan. 20, he’s beginning to announce a slate of qualified, experienced public servants who he intends to nominate to his cabinet or other key administrative positions,” Schumer prefaced his public statement, naming Biden’s core economic team led by Treasury nominee Janet Yellen who will probably do the same things she did when she was the Chairman of the Federal Reserve. Meaning, we would try to implement the same monetary policies of the miserable Obama years.
Schumer argued that the assembly “clearly has the experience, the knowledge, the prowess to meet the seriousness of this moment.” But the Obama years are remembered for a miserable economy.
“More than that, they understand the needs of all Americans because they represent all given kinds of Americans. They’ll get to work not just on rebuilding our economy, but striving to provide greater and more equitable prosperity to future generations.” What exactly are all the “given kinds of Americans” he’s talking about? Aren’t we all Americans? How does Treasury treat Americans differently?
Schumer continued, “In the midst of this once-in-a-century crisis, it’s imperative the next administration can count on the Senate to confirm its cabinet without delay.” Doesn’t it sound like Schumer knows something we don’t? Doesn’t it sound like he is completely confident that the Democrats are going to win the 2 Senate seats in Georgia, as if he has some sort of an insurance policy?
“Everyone knows that the Senate plays a pivotal role in confirming a new president’s cabinet in the midst of this crisis,” he asserted. “It’s imperative that the next administration can count on the Senate to confirm its cabinet without delay.” Why? What’s the rush? Is this just another ploy to set the perception that Joe Biden really won the election? No matter what they do most Americans will never believe Biden beat Donald Trump.
Schumer went on to assert that the early days of the Trump presidency were defined by “high-level appointments of individuals who were manifestly unqualified, plagued by ethical complaints, or swimming in conflicts-of-interest—sometimes all three.” I don’t remember the Senate working on confirmation hearings before Trump was ever officially declared president-elect, do you?
“Already Republicans are twisting themselves into pretzels to explain their opposition,” Schumer scoffed, saying the he fully expects to “see some crocodile tears spilled on the other side of the aisle over the president-elect’s cabinet nominees.” What an arrogant man.
The minority leader ended with, “The American people cannot wait to have its government working at full-force to keep them safe, defeat the virus, and get our economy back on track.” It sounds like the biggest snow job I’ve ever heard. We have to defeat the virus because people are dropping off by the 0.000000009%!
OAN’s Jack Posobiec took to social media to refer to Schumer’s demands as an “Unconstitutional coup.”
Sen Ron Johnson and Sen Chuck Grassley have sent a letter to the propaganda leadership in the House, Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff, and in the Senate, Sen Chuck Schumer and Sen Mark Warner, accusing them of knowingly spreading false intelligence. Come on guys, they have to spread fake intelligence because they have no idea where to find real intelligence.
The Senators noted that while they went on TV and kept swearing that there was collusion between Trump and Russia, they sitting in hearings behind closed doors that refuted the existence of collusion. Even after the special counsel Robert Mueller spent 22 months looking into every nook and cranny with unlimited manpower and money and came up empty, they have continued to lie.
Grassley and Johnson accused the Democrats of spreading fake news for political gain. Why don’t the Democrats comment on the fact that our intelligence community has determined China wants Biden to win? And why not? They already own him, having sunk over 3 billion dollars in investments with Hunter Biden. They wouldn’t even have to make anything up, it’s already well documented.
The Senators wrote:
“It is certainly our goal to eradicate foreign influence from our elections. But your use of this issue to knowingly and recklessly promote false narratives for political purposes is completely contrary to that goal.”
Adam Schiff is the worst of the lot. Almost every night, or at least it seemed so, he would be on CNN saying that there was more than circumstantial proof of collusion. He knew it didn’t exist and to cover it up, he did not allow the transcripts to be released because they proved he lied. But acting DNI director Richard Grenell released them and they were shocking to say the least.
Last month top Democrats in both the House and Senate wrote a letter to the FBI asking the bureau to provide Congress with a counterintelligence briefing on a so-called ‘concerted foreign interference’ campaign targeting Congress and the 2020 election.
Johnson and Grassley pushed back and said the Democrats are purposely leaking information and spreading disinformation to muddy the election.
Schiff has repeatedly claimed he has concrete evidence Trump colluded with the Russians, however he has never produced any evidence to back up his outrageous claims.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell struck back Tuesday at his Democratic counterpart’s calls for an in-depth impeachment trial featuring multiple new witnesses, dismissing the push as a “fishing expedition” that would set a “nightmarish precedent.”
By: Marie Penetranti UAF
This is interesting that Schumer would ask the Senate to continue the investigation when that is the House’s job. Just like everything else, the Democrats are not interested in the correct process. They are only interested in the path that creates the narrative they want. They are manipulative. But as Will Johnson of Unite America First and FirePowersNews.com walked the halls after the impeachment hearing. All the Democrats claimed they made their case. So why would more witnesses need to be called? There is only one possible answer, because they know they didn’t make their case.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell struck back Tuesday at his Democratic counterpart’s calls for an in-depth impeachment trial featuring multiple new witnesses, dismissing the push as a “fishing expedition” that would set a “nightmarish precedent.”
“The Senate is meant to act as judge and jury, to hear a trial, not to re-run the entire fact-finding investigation because angry partisans rushed sloppily through it,” he said on the Senate floor.
In a Sunday letter, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer had called for the chamber to subpoena new documents and call witnesses who had been blocked by the White House during the impeachment inquiry on the House side.
McConnell, R-Ky., claimed that such investigative steps, though, were part of the House role — not a mission for the Senate. He warned that entertaining Schumer’s proposal to do House lawmakers’ “homework” could invite a string of future “dubious” and “frivolous” impeachment inquiries.
He stressed the fact-finding mission should have been completed during the impeachment inquiry led by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif. McConnell accused the House of doing a rush job, and said Schumer is now looking “to make Chairman Schiff’s sloppy work more persuasive.”
The comments come as the full House prepares to vote as early as Wednesday on impeachment articles, alleging abuse of power and obstruction of Congress over President Trump’s bid to pressure Ukraine to investigate Democrats. McConnell and Schumer are poised to meet in the near future to discuss the framework for an expected Senate trial, but have traded barbs in the run-up to their sit-down.
The majority leader on Tuesday also pointed out that Schumer’s letter referenced “keeping with the bipartisan spirit” of the procedures followed in the 1999 impeachment trial of then-President Bill Clinton, but stated that Schumer then went on “to demand things that would break with the 1999 model.” For example, he recalled that the 1999 impeachment trial procedures were laid out in two separate resolutions, with many of the details coming after it began and following a motion to dismiss that had been filed by Democrats including Schumer himself. Schumer’s letter, however, called for all procedures to be set out in a single resolution.
“Look, most people understand what the democratic leader is really after,” McConnell said, alleging that what Schumer wanted to do was “lock in live witnesses.”
Schumer’s letter called for subpoenas for witnesses who had not appeared before the House, including former National Security Adviser John Bolton and acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney. The House had requested that the witnesses testify before them, but when they refused, the House declined to take further action. McConnell claimed this was because they were not interested in due process.
Schumer took to the Senate floor minutes later with a pointed response.
“I listened to the leader’s speech. I did not hear a single sentence, a single argument for why the witnesses I suggested should not give testimony,” Schumer said. He claimed that if there were witnesses who had valuable information, the Senate should hear them.
A group of Democrats have filed an ethics complaint against Sen Josh Hawley and Sen Ted Cruz. Those Democratic Senators include Sens. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), Tim Kaine (D-VA), Ron Wyden (D-OR), Tina Smith (D-MN), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Mazie Hirono (D-HI), and Sherrod Brown (D-OH). These same Democrats never considered filing ethics complaints against any Democrat who did exactly the same in 2001, 2005 and 2017.
In 2001, Maxine Waters objected to the election of George W Bush. In 2005 Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones, D-Ohio, and then-Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif objected and in 2017 it was radical Rep Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash. None of them were charged with ethics complaints. And for good reason. The law gives members of congress the right to object to the electoral vote.
Objecting to the Counting of One or More Electoral Votes Provisions in 3 U.S.C. §15 include a procedure for making and acting on objections to the counting of one or more of the electoral votes from a state or the District of Columbia. When the certificate or equivalent paper from each state (or the District of Columbia) is read, “the President of the Senate shall call for objections, if any.”
Any such objection must be presented in writing and must be signed by at least one Senator and one Representative. The objection “shall state clearly and concisely, and without argument, the ground thereof. ” During the joint session of January 6, 2001, the presiding officer intervened on several occasions to halt attempts to make speeches under the guise of offering an objection.
Hawley then decided that he had a complaint against the Democrats who failed to recognize his right of free speech or the law allowing members of congress to object to electoral results.
Hawley wrote in his ethics complaint:
In light of the shameful abuse of the ethics process you have deliberately engaged in, I have considered whether I should call for you to resign or be expelled from the Senate. But I continue to believe in the First Amendment, which the US Supreme Court has repeatedly said protects even “offensive” and malicious speech, such as yours.
The First Amendment does not, however, give you carte blanche to abuse the Senate ethics process. I have today filed a complaint with the ethics committee that details your deliberate and partisan abuse of this process, including your apparent coordination with various dark money groups, and requests that you be appropriately disciplined.
Hawley asked the ethics committee if:
Coordinated with the Never Trump organization the Lincoln Project, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC), MoveOn, Voto Latino, the Sierra Club, and other outside organizations.
Coordinated with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), the Joe Biden administration, and other members of Democrat leadership.
Coordinated with lobbyists for corporations urging the suspension of those corporations’ political contributions.
Hawley asks that the Democratic Senators be punished for using the ethics process to be weaponized against anyone that disagrees with them and to assure they refrain from doing so in the future.
National Guard troops who were moved into the nation’s Capitol, pretty much for Democrat-created hyperbolic theater were “banished” to a small parking garage after doing their duty to protect Washington, DC, in the aftermath of the Capitol building riots, have been allowed back into the US Capitol.
On Thursday, the Guard said in a statement, “Brig. Gen. Janeen Birckhead, Inauguration Task Force Commander confirms that troops are out of the garage and back into the Capitol building as authorized by the USCP (U.S. Capitol Police) Watch Commander and the troops will take their breaks near Emancipation Hall going forward.”
Fox News reported that because of the disgusting way the troops were treated the governors of Florida, New Hampshire, and Texas decided they were recalling their Guard members and bringing them home.
Images of the troops sitting around the Thurgood Marshall Judicial Center garage floating around the Internet brought some outrage from lawmakers, including Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, who called the move “outrageous.” I’m just wondering if Schumer suddenly became outraged after it was reported that Donald Trump gave the troops permission to stay at the DC Trump International Hotel, and the Democrats could not have that.
Since the Democrats fixed the optics hoping their blunder will go away, the Trump International Hotel is still allowing law enforcement to stay in the hotel.
Yet some of the members of the National Guard when asked by reporters who put them in the garage situation said that they heard that “some senator” saw them inside the Capitol building and wanted to get rid of them because having military personnel there seemed unsightly.
Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), an Iraq War veteran, said in a tweet: “Just made a number of calls and have been informed Capitol Police have apologized to the Guardsmen and they will be allowed back into the complex tonight. I’ll keep checking to make sure they are.”
After midnight, she added: “Troops are now all out of the garage. Now I can go to bed.”
Capitol Police on Thursday had asked the National Guard to move their troops out of the building after they started using it to rest during their shifts to protect the very people who had them moved out, according to Major Matt Murphy a National Guard Bureau spokesman.
“As Congress is in session and increased foot traffic and business is being conducted, Capitol Police asked the troops to move their rest area,” Murphy said. “They were temporarily relocated to the Thurgood Marshall Judicial Center garage with heat and restroom facilities.”
According to Fox News on Friday, Acting Capitol Police Chief Yogananda Pittman argued against that assertion.
“I want to assure everyone that, with the exception of specific times on Inauguration Day itself while the swearing-in ceremonies were underway, the United States Capitol police did not instruct the National Guard to vacate the Capitol Building facilities,” Pittman said.
“And on Inauguration Day, the Guard was notified and encouraged to reoccupy the spaces in the Capitol and CVC at 2 p.m.,” she continued.
Pittman then added, “It was brought to our attention early today that facility management with the Thurgood Marshall Judicial Office Building reached out directly to the National Guard to offer use of its facilities.”
A National Guard Bureau spokesperson on Friday said, “We remain an agile and flexible force to provide for the safety and security of the Capitol and its surrounding areas. Our troops are going to hotel rooms or other comfortable accommodations at the end of their shifts.” What else are they going to say?
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) said he decided to bring his troops back home. The governor took to social media to make the announcement.
“Last night, I ordered our Adjutant General to bring Florida National Guard soldiers home from the National Capital Region.”
DeSantis also said on “Fox & Friends” that the giant effort to protect the Capitol was a “half-cocked mission at this point” pointing out that the Democrats started doing background checks of National Guard troops over their political ideology ahead of the inauguration. They didn’t even wait for Biden to be sworn in before they started insulting the troops.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R), who also had aired complaints about background checks for the troops and tweeted out his response to the insult.
“I have instructed General Norris to order the return of the Texas National Guard to our state. @TexasGuard“
New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu (R) has also said that he too is recalling his state’s National Guard.
“I’ve ordered the immediate return of all New Hampshire National Guard from Washington DC. They did an outstanding job serving our nation’s capital in a time of strife and should be graciously praised, not subject to substandard conditions. @NHNationalGuard“
The Capitol Police gave a statement on Friday claiming that it “immensely appreciates” the National Guard’s assistance. Then why did they move them into a cold parking garage? Because they were told to, probably by a Sergeant at Arms, who was told by either Chuck Schumer (D-NY) or Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), because the Sergeant at Arms from both chambers of Congress report to the House Speaker and Senate Majority Leader.
“The United States Capitol Police immensely appreciates the integral support of the U.S. National Guard in helping to secure the Capitol Complex leading up to, and including the Inaugural ceremony. The Department is grateful for their service and our strong partnership during this time,” it said.
