14-Year-Old Boy Shot Dead In The Streets Of Downtown Atlanta, After Left’s Attack On Cities And Police

Atlanta is the site of deadly consequences of the left’s political theater, which has been unfolding since 2020 when a police encounter with a suspect ended up dead and being exploited as an attack on the police, adding to a national agenda to demonize the police and force a nationalization of State police forces.  As a result of the left’s agenda for lawless cities and the absence of police, the most recent death is the death of a 14-year-old boy.

Atlanta police said it started as a fight after a group of teenagers showed up near McAfee St. downtown while riding scooters. And it ended in gunfire that left a 14-year-old teenager dead and two teens in the hospital with gunshot wounds.

Police say they were called out to the 600 block of McAfee St. just after 10 p.m. Saturday night after residents heard the gunfire.

When officers arrived, they found the 14-year-old unresponsive and two injured teens.

Channel 2′s Audrey Washington spoke with someone who saw most of what happened.

“I seen a lot of commotion. I was like that was not a fight, that was gunshots,” the witness said. “By the time I got out of the car and got into the house, I just seen a lot of police cars and ambulances coming down here.”

Atlanta Police Deputy Chief Charles Hampton said officers detained a 17-year old male who had a gun at the scene and was questioning him about the incident. The 17-year old has not been charged at this time. Hampton said everyone involved in the melee was teenagers, and most scattered when officers arrived.

Hampton said around that time, officers “spotted a large fight of juveniles” who they believed had all come to the area on scooters.

“During the melee there were several juveniles fighting, someone, somehow a type of gunfire erupted striking three victims,” Deputy Chief Hampton said.

One of the victims was a 14-year-old male who was transported to Grady, where he died, the deputy chief said. Two others, ages 14 and 15, were taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta – Egleston with “minor injuries.”

They believe the three victims may have known each other.

Hampton said police had one 17-year-old in custody who had been detained with two firearms. Police are interviewing that teen to determine his involvement.

They’re asking anyone who was there or who knows what might have happened to call Crime Stoppers, where they can submit an anonymous tip at 404-577-TIPS (8477).

Police are hoping the obtain footage of the fight to determine how things progressed.

The shooting happens just one year after another shocking attack on young people in the area.

“Secoriea Turner, a buoyant rising third-grader who loved unicorns and dancing, was shot and killed when someone fired at the Jeep she and her mother, Charmaine Turner, were riding in on July 4, 2020. She was 8,” reported Atlanta news.

Police have said as many as four people were fired. One arrest has been made. The Atlanta Police Department has declined to answer questions, saying the investigation is ongoing.

Secoriea’s parents have pleaded for witnesses to come forward in tearful news conferences and vigils. Instead, they backed a video and a billboard seeking tips. They have also sued the city, Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, and Police Chief Rodney Bryant, accusing all three of negligence.

Protesters had camped at Wendy’s site, calling for police reforms and replacing the charred building with a community center to honor Brooks. Officials had allowed protesters to stay at the site while negotiating demands with the city, on condition the road was not blocked. Instead, an armed group, denounced by protest leaders who asked them to leave, blocked the road repeatedly.
